In my opinion this might be a useful mod that would allow more use of the Taru. There are lots of pods already placed around the base that are supposed to attach the Taru helicopter but by default you can only hook them. This mod allows you to actually pull the pods up to the helicopter and then attach them like they usually are by default when you spawn it in. I don't know if this mod is a possibility or not but I thought I may as well just suggest it. Thanks for reading http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=27532

As this is an issue of late, here is a proposed and discussed list of the ROE in writing. - Classification - CAS: Close Air Support. For the purposes of I&A, CAS consists of any fixed wing or rotor propelled aircraft with primary weapons - this does not include miniguns on Ghost Hawks Fire Support: Fire support consists of all fixed position or mobile artillery. - The ROE - 1. CAS and Fire support CAN NOT engage ground targets without CLEAR and SPECIFIC tasking by ground forces. Ground forces are INFANTRY on the ground IN THE AO, this cannot be pilots, UAV op or other artillery roles. What is clear and specific tasking? This is as follows: A friendly requesting a CAS mission on a specific vehicle which can be soley identified among others A friendly clearly stating they are lasing a target from a certain cardinal direction (N, NE, E, SE, etc) and stating what the target is A friendly requesting fire support or CAS, specifing what their requested target is and giving a precise indication as to their location - grid reference, map mark or landmark CAS and Fire Support will not engage if there is any doubt friendlies could be harmed. If you wish to call in support when there are friendlies within 100m of the target, you must call "DANGER CLOSE" to indicate there is Bluefor infantry within the area. 2. The ONLY targets which CAS and Fire Support can engage at free will are as follows: AA threats - Tigrises and Cheetahs alike Enemy Aircraft - Attack helos and CAS jets alike Vehicles who are outside of the AO who pose minimal to no risk to ground forces - as a general guide, 2kms should be the minimum Enemy Watercraft if they ARE NOT an intergral part of the AO's at main or side 3. For clarification, other targets CAS CAN NOT engage without tasking are: The Radio Tower Vehicles shooting at you in the CAS that ARE NOT either a Tigris or a Cheetah - if you are getting shot at by niether of these, you are too close HQ Actual Side Objective Vehicles or infantry This combined with the new - Waiting for CAS slot - on the TS channel will hopefully clear any issues and improve the enjoyment of all players

You both make valid points and I do agree. Lets clear it up. ATC... yes for the reasons you have mentioned but ATC's in game can be annoying especially in peak periods if they are not fully paying attention.

Hey Guys, I am looking at changing the arrangement of Teamspeak channels for the I&A section of the Strayagaming teamspeak but wanted to run my ideas by the community as well as here some of your ideas as well. Currently we have 14 public channels in the I&A teamspeak but as all of you know, the pilot channel is the only one that people tend to use. The original design of the teamspeak was to ensure coordination between pilots, infantry and armoured units but in my experience this design has never worked and everyone just ends up in the pilot channel. I believe this is because pilots need to be on teamspeak (obviously) and then other players come on the TS, see where everyone else is and want to join the party. Now this has been this way for a very long time and I dont think much can be done to change that. The only way that would change if we made the pilots channel a locked channel, and an admin would have to drag you in which would be fiddly and annoying. All I would like to change at the moment is the channels above the pilots. I want to get rid of all of them. We could then add 3 Ground Force channels, 1 side mission channel and 1 server event channel underneath the pilots channel. I think its silly that the pilots are at the bottom and its the one that gets used the most. So basically it would look like this: Invade and Annex: Pilots : Transport/Air Defence/ CAS: Waiting for pilot slot: Waiting for CAS: Ground Force: Alpha: Bravo: Charlie: Side mission: Server Event Channel: Pilots: Infantry: Now you'll notice there is a new channel in there (waiting for cas). I want to introduce this because im sick of seeing pilots waiting for cas at its spawn. From now on if an admin or moderator sees a pilot waiting for a plane to spawn for any amount of time its an instant kick from the server and a loss of your pilot slot (if someone is waiting in the queue). The way its going to work is that pilots will queue for the CAS and every time that cas is destroyed it moves to the next person in the queue. I would also like to introduce a new role for players, being the Air Traffic Controller (ATC). I dont really think we need a new slot for it in the server but i would like to get a teamspeak tag organised for it which would have to be something you would apply for on the forums. The reason I would like there to be an application process is because I want to give this person further responsibilities than the rest of the players, for instance I would like them to manage both queues (Pilot slot and CAS) which would take a load off us admins. The introduction of this would also increase coordination in the pilot channel as well as 'on topic' chat in the pilot channel which has also been a problem lately. Having someone constantly talking about the mission in the channel would keep everyone focused I think. Anyway thats about it so let me know what you think

You can't be serious? Grey areas? Do you need me to write the rule for you? "Only the COPS and EMS online at the time the FED/Bank teller is hit can respond to either scenario, any other officer that logs on must resume GD and not respond." "If an officer is responding to FED or BANK and they are disconnected/kick for an error but HAVEN'T died they can log back in ASAP and continue the scenario" You think making rules where sides can call in set amounts of reinforcements, only allowing certain ranks on to help, letting high ranks on to gear people up is going cause less trouble in helpdesk? You must be having a laugh. Keep her simple mate, Cops and EMS on at the time can respond and if there's only 8 low ranked people online the command team should be thinking to themselves, what's going wrong....

@ASAF Please don't make text style type posts, for example, your "lol." These leave nothing constructive and are considered as spam on these forums. Thank you for understanding, Tiggati.

I hope it's very soon, perhaps next restart. From my knowledge it's literally just server keys that need to be added. I'd greatly appreciate it since I play on the server regularly.

I think it may have too much clutter on the screen though depends on the distance you set for the medics to show up. Say if your wounded is 500m away on the edge of detection and your medics are 500m on the other side. where do you put the limit?

Ok here's my take coming from both rebel and cop going to cover a few different points. Rebel Standpoint: Everytime we either hit off a bank just for some reason at least 2 of our members get kicked off and most of the time they cannot come back and that sucks however it isn't really fair when people come running up behind cops and end up catching them off guard and killing them all. Conclusion: If someone has logged on before combat started you may join in however if you get kicked off and combat starts you cannot return. Cop Standpoint: Lot's of gangs will try to rob bank with the minimum amount of people required which isn't fun for the cops but I get poked a lot on TeamSpeak telling my that there is a bank and they are going to lose, most of the time I try not to log-on because it is meta, however in certain situations it is necessary. Conclusion: If a bank get's hit off all officers that login can respond however you can only message police that are in the police channels on TeamSpeak and if you are found of contacting officers through other means it will be classed as meta-gaming. Practical Standpoint: As some of you might know I hate spending hours on end in helpdesk for little issues that come to no resolution and rules like this really only come into play when someone is mad because you lost the fight and it's a cheap way to get back at someone. Conclusion: Introducing rules like this although when followed makes it more fun when followed it 99% of the time just get's used to get back at someone because you lost the fight. Final conclusion: Allow rebels to log-on before combat has started but if a user if kicked off during combat the cannot return. As for cops they can join in on bank if they login at any point in time even if combat has started but can only message other cops if they are within the police channels on teamspeak.

Here is a vote for the new server expansion, seeing as the old one bugged out with the removed options. Vote away!
