Hey guys, I was playing with some guys yesterday in Kavala, and we had a great session. (There's a particular section of the map that I call "Death Alley". It changes, but everytime I've gone there.. it's nasty... love it! If you get a chance... try it. :)... ) Anyway, I was wondering if there was any plans for more of that kind of close quarters combat in another section of the map, or is this something Quicksilver scripted into Straya I&A? Not sure what other town could be used, but was thinking... Pyrgos. If its possible, what town do you guys think?

Hey guys, I was playing yesterday and I found a small helicopter (M900) while I was heading to an AO. I jumped in as co-pilot and continued to the main but like 50-60m in the air, it disappeared and I fell to the ground. Are easter eggs only allow to be used by certain unit types? I can understand that for an attack chopper or some tanks... but I would like to drive or fly a random easter egg that I find... its all shiny... hehehe
-
Lol ... that tells you how often I find an EE. Lol
-
Yea I know the rules mate, but not sure if they would apply to the easter eggs or this one in particular. Also the M900: is essentially a civi transport helo and there were only 10-12 players on at that time in the morning... so... I'm thinking it may have been a bug... Edit: and it was shiny...

I haven't seen that panther yet, but if I do, I think I might make it my mission to follow and protect it... Friendly AI FTW! hehehe
-
I was going to mention them, but the guys haven't added them to the server yet, so I wasn't sure if they would be.
-
+1 Also maybe a mission around that Large sub out in the harbor or maybe capture intel on one of the larger ships, that spawns for the under water intel mission.

Had fun with the go karts last night thanks admins... hehehe

Strayagaming - Go Karting What happened when we're given Go Karts... :)

Well, not really, but usually there are some hardcore still on... but empty servers?
-
Saturday and Sunday morning (4-8am NZ) was a ghost town this last weekend. Some eventually came on.
-
Thanks iKat I was hoping it was just that the server was only running at certain times, but that's ok.
-
Hey, is this server still running? Can I jump on and have a look? Love the RHS gear.
-
I'll be keen to join too...

One song that gets me pumped when I played this related game... Only for us old fogies - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b5X69vREA

How about a combination of both above and below water. I think i remember seeing a mod for an offshore oil rig. If it could be placed as a mission maybe, to both prevent them taking it over or stop boats and divers from planting chargers on the rigs support columns on the ocean. No idea if this was possible. Would be a great AO but.

I've done it a few times by myself. It can be done once you get the prep and method down. The only issue I had was time... It took a while to find the best position to start the mission. In the case of the last one I did, I was within 600m of the intel vehicles, in a position to see all the vehicles, drivers and keeping an eye on the patrols. Once the patrols have moved out of sight/range, use a silence weapon, hit and made sure all the drivers are dead, then hit the patrolling vehicle. This brings in the troops of course, which you can pick off one at a time and clear the area around the vehicles. (I'm probably over thinking this when i do this mission, but in my case, I needed to get into a position where I can have all three of the intel vehicles and their drivers within easy view, and that I can easily cycle from one driver to the other, in under 10 secs using 1 or 2 shots each to kill them. I think I have that last mission recorded in game, see if i can upload it to yt and link it. ) Then its your name in Lights and GLORY!!!

Thanks, and that's ok. It's a bummer and disappointing that this has been tried and it turned out that bad. :( And thanks to the other guys who replied. I really like the community and was hoping it could be done here. but that's ok.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, so excuse me if it has. I know Straya I&A server isn't supposed to be anything too serious, and that it allows for any "Joe/Josefina public" to jump on and enjoy playing Arma 3. I'm happy with that, that’s why I come back and play. But lately, as I've been playing and talking to other players, more are mentioning that we should have training on this server and that they would like to be more immersive and realistic. I know this is mostly coming from hardened players who like that kind of game play and structure, but why can’t we try this out. Is it possible for us to have a (pop-up... maybe) I&A server where it can focus on the training of players that want to do a realistic MilSim with these same kind of missions, specialised or even players who volunteer to run a Zeus mission? There’s probably some servers being run by players now, so they can do this, but I feel like a community server would be fairer and maybe better managed. With the community taking the responsibility and not just an individual. (Yes, I have good intentions and hope, but others must have too.) I myself, have never played on a server like that, and wouldn’t mind training to play more efficiently and with a team based focus. Learning how to use ACE3, ACRE and other realism mods would be great, along with other experimental mods that could be added. I know this is sounding more like the kind of things you see on youtube channels like Luetin and Liru, but I like that kind of thing. And it wouldn’t have to be an individual that does this, with some of us maybe creating scenarios for military missions. Wouldn’t it be something everyone would look forward too. Right… Now… Discuss…

Hmm... no problems here... I can still see... and Mobile gaming? wow I can't imagine staring at a 5 - 6" screen for that long.... wait... mine was 24" hmmm... ... I'm might be doing this again, but probably not till the end of the year... if anyone else is keen? lol

Did it... but only made it to 6am-ish... :( took this screenshot off my phone when i woke up that morning... I have to say that I really enjoyed playing that whole time. There are some great players and teams out there in the Straya I&A community, working together. The servers work really well and some of the AO's and Sides turned into some great moments during the game. I can also be blamed twice for TK-ing (Sorry "Craig", I killed when I rpg-ed a tank he was trying to put charges on, and another who I shot when I was using thermals.) but there was a lot of it, during that time. :( My advice if you're going to do this: Left-over Pizza and Pasta is great for quick meals. Coke and V is a must toward the end of the night Also a couple of packets of lollies are good for a sugar rush :) 15 minute breaks (during server restarts) are enough, but take a walk and stretch when you get the chance. Beer is always the answer to all questions... lol One thing I want to mention, which is something that has been discussed in this forum, is about whitelisting the pilot slots for trained members of the community. I wasn't a fan of that idea for many of the reasons that were talked about. But after seeing the Fu#k-wittery of some of the players during the 12 - 4am (AU) period, I could be convinced to agree with it. The wanton destruction of aircraft during that time... Wow! Many of the players couldn't believe it, and were forced to fly themselves, only to find damage to most of the vehicles. If they weren't crashing them, they would try and crash into other players as they took off. I know that having an admin on at that time of the night is impossible, but what if we had some kind of voting system that could be used to temp-ban players like this (depending on the numbers playing at the time)? Anyway, shout out to my temp team mates during this time period: CaptainTrooper, Toph, Imfamous, L.T. Dang, Haut, Kirito, Zuhr and many others...
