Wex Police Department Wex - 6372

Darkside would probably still be fun without tanks and big guns. They've got more content plus you can AFK for money so there's going to be more population.

A lot of people have put things in suggestions and nothings come out of it. Read through https://strayagaming.com/forum/108-suggestions/ and see how many suggestions get ignored without any response from management.
  5. I've recently been playing on Strayagaming Altis Life again. A lot of what I might say could be biased or misinformed due to my lack of game time in recent months or due to my affiliation with rebel gangs. These suggestions have taken inspirations from other servers so I'm not claiming credit for the entire suggestion. I do understand that these suggestions might be unrealistic to development due to a lack of a dedicated developer but this is just something to think about over time, maybe one or two suggestions might be implemented. There's a lack of rebel gangs on the server with AoW being the dominant gang and Sequel being close behind. There's a bunch of smaller gangs with a few people together but apart from that there's not much going on. There needs to be some sort of incentive for those little gangs to group up and form a bigger gang because right now the combat from my perspective is between cops, Sequel, or a few random rebels. Instead of having this forced gang war where you had to arrange a fight, why not have an application to apply for a gang base and give it out to every active gang with benefits tweaked and a proper terms and condition of maintaining the gang base. The gang menu should also be changed to compliment the gang base changes. These suggestion will benefit current and new gangs in the server as well as provide some more activities for police. Gang Menu Changes The current gang menu is outdated and is need of updating. A hierarchy system would be useful in managing certain aspects of the gang while in game. Would also be great if things like gang bases could be done without the need of whitelisting by a staff member and shift it towards being a permanent member of the gang. Gang Founder: Invite/Promote/Kick members Full access to Gang Base Gang Leader: Invite/Kick Members Full Access to Gang Base Gang Member: Temporarily invite a member to the gang, will expire upon aborting to lobby. Limited access to Gang Base Temporary Members: No access to gang base Design of the Gang Base: I'm not great with map editing or have knowledge on the limitations of the server's mission file but I'll leave the guidelines to the more qualified people. The gang bases should be designed by a member of the gang unless a member of the staff team is willing to design a gang base for them. Maybe even have a default gang base to work from if a design can't be made. Benefits of the Gang Base: The ability to spawn at the location once an hour (to prevent soft logging and spawning there for certain benefits listed below) Rebel, Cartel, or Contractor market, clothing, weapon, and vehicle shop. Gang Shed/Warehouse that holds a large amount of virtual and physical items. Gang Vault (essentially gang funds). Gang Shed: Very high amount of storage compared to houses. Allowing gangs to store gear and items to share among the whole gang. The shed has to unlocked by a Gang Leader/Founder either via an updated gang menu or windows key at the shed. Can be raided by the police if they have a valid warrant on at least 3 members or the gang founder. Gang Vault: Gang members can store money in the vault to share around with other members. Capture zones can periodically add money into the vault. Maybe some sort of taxation system where a small percentage of money gets added to the vault 50% of money from Westpac could get added to the vault. The vault can be raided by the police once a day or once every three hours for different gangs. Cooldown would be included with Westpac/Fed/AGL to prevent multiple major crimes happening at once. Every cop online would get money if successful (something like 250-500k per person). Terms and Conditions: Gang Activity: 15 Registered Gang Members Activity Quota (something like 50 hours combined from all gang members in a week) Actively contributing in the forums either in discussions, videos, or suggestions. Active in Teamspeak (Most gangs use their own discord/teamspeak, encouraging gangs to use their official gang channels could be a good thing) Gang Behaviour: No Toxicity in any of StrayaGaming's services. Following the rules, avoid getting watchlisted/banned. Avoid Excessive Shit Talking of other Gangs or towards the Police Force. (Excessive because one line shit talks could be interpreted as friendly banter) Three strike system. Gang leadership will be held accountable for the actions of their members. If a member is constantly breaking the rules or being toxic without being punished by leadership, their gang base is at risk. For the gang base to be maintained, the leaders would have to remove any excessive rule breakers/toxic players to be safe. Final Statement: The server is a combat server. There's multiple opportunities for rebel vs rebel combat but when there's a lack of rebel gangs, there's not much to do other than to pester the Police with Westpac or other major crimes. This is the only Altis Life server in the region that is more skill based than weapon/vehicle based which is why some people enjoy it more than the other server. My opinion is that the server direction should be leaning towards improving rebel vs rebel first, then slowly overtime overpower the cops so it's actually a challenge to take Westpac or Fed. Rebels don't need to win all the Westpacs and Fed if they have a decent combat experience to rely on elsewhere like rebel vs rebel. The reward from Westpac isn't worth much, and if the server reaches a point where the cop force is dominating, the reward should be significantly increased.

First one's not a bug. It's based off the money in your account and intended to be a money maker for new players. Full explanation here:
  7. Wex

Yeah the whole maintaining a gang base would have to be done manually by the staff team to determine if a gang is active enough and their behaviour standards is decent enough to keep the base.
  8. Wex

I believe this is intentional. Not all items are saved in vehicle after restart, gold bars being one of them.
  9. Wex

Modded servers aren't that much different than Altis Life. Only difference is that you're less likely to get trolls due to the amount of effort it takes to join the server by downloading modpacks and being forced to get on teamspeak. Servers with strict roleplay don't get popular.
  10. Wex

Clearly you weren't around when cops would sit on office building gunning down civs for the smallest of crimes. Both cops and civs have contributed to the state of the server, the only faction that can't be blamed are the EMS.

Basics: - Name: Wex TeamSpeak Name: Wex Age: 21 Steam 64 ID/Player ID: 76561198060843177 Hours as Pubslot (Min 15 hours): 50+ Induction Training Completed By (Must have been completed no more than 30 days ago): Zesty Questionnaire: - Why were you removed from the APD?: Resigned from Commissioner, moved into Internal Affairs. Resigned from that too and I assume I was given Senior Constable or something and was slowly demoted over time due to inactivity until finally removed. Why should you be reenlisted back into the APD?: (50 Words Min) I left on bad terms as Commissioner and as Internal Affairs but I didn't hold any grudges or personal feelings against any member involved in the incident. I'd like to rejoin the police force, see how far it's come since I left and just get back into playing a life server. I'm here to roleplay and have fun and I'll try my best not to cause any troubles. When was the last time you played consistently on Cop?: Last time I was consistent was when I was a probationary constable all the way to Superintendent. After that I was playing on and off, partially due to internet and computer issues that have now been resolved. If you are enlisted into the APD, where do you see yourself in 3 months?: Honestly, I'd like to reach Sergeant but that's the highest I would want to go. I've had my fair share of being in Command Team and I'd rather avoid all the unpleasantness again. What do you believe you can bring to the Altis Police Department?: (50 Words Min) I can bring my professionalism and roleplay skills, especially when interacting with civilians. I would like to make the environment for all parties involved as enjoyable as possible without straying from the protocols or boundaries of rules. My leadership abilities lack confidence and I'm hoping to regain some of it back during my time in the APD. Are you up to date with the new Police Protocols?: Yes How much time can you dedicate to the Altis Police Department?: Around 5-10 hours a week, more during the summer break. If you were demoted for any reason other than Inactivity, you are required to have at least two referrals from a Sergeant or above. Who are you referrals (@their forum name):
  12. I've been apart of this community for nearly two years, serving 6 months as Commissioner, a couple months as support team and a couple weeks as a trial moderator before departing from SG's Altis Life. The server has been through multiple up and downs before my time and during my time. I was present during the Vertiigo incident that resulted in a reset of the Police Force, where I was trusted by the leads at the time to rebuild the Police Force from basically nothing. On top of that, I was a part AnzusGaming, serving as Commissioner then as Server Manager. This server has a habit of reacting to certain situations rather than being proactive and fixing the problems earlier on. The server was around 20 players average after the Vertiigo incident and LuckyB33f had to step in and force changes for the better of the community. We were back up to 100 players during peak and sometimes hitting max population. And I feel like this is what is happening right now. When the server pop drops, the management becomes reactive and starts making change, or attempting to make change. I feel this attitude towards change in the server needs to be fixed, there are multiple different posts on the forums suggesting for one thing (capture areas) and nothing has been done about it at all. Hopefully with the recent decrease in playerbase, change will start to happen again to benefit the server. The polls in my opinion are just a waste of time on how they're currently used. I made a rant about this on discord but I'm going to extend this on the forums. The first polls that were released had one or two things that could have been worthy of a poll while the others were something that shouldn't have been polled in the first place. Small changes like adding a repair and refuel platform is something that the administration could read in a suggestions post and add it straight away. Other things like adding more helicopters in the shops and better drops in the airdrop could be done without a public poll. Just to clarify, I'm not against polls but I don't like how they're being used at the moment. Polls should be leaning more towards major changes such as Sydney being the main town again or fed being changed to a different location. AnzusGaming might be a better server at this current state, feel free to try it out but don't leave this community entirely. I have confidence the administration will try their best to satisfy its population. I have worked with Frank and Mitch, in fact I was the one who promoted Mitch to Deputy Commissioner. Both of them have flaws, but I would trust Mitch to run a server over Frank. Frank is a person who encourages doxing, threatens to leak personal information about others, and photoshops steam messages to try and discredit me when I accused him of scamming. This person has also sold files of Underbelly to two different communities (to my knowledge) when they weren't his to sell in the first place (Have evidence of that but won't be posting publicly), scamming people hundreds of dollars for his own personal gain. Yikesbrah, alternate account of Frank or someone in his inner circle leaking my Facebook, (I've got nothing to hide so don't really care): https://i.imgur.com/8rOALfF.png Frank sending me a message on SG's forums, threatening me and showing me a photoshopped image of a steam chat to try and prove I'm a white knight. Also him saying he has the decency of removing people linking my Facebook page even though it's still there: https://i.imgur.com/QOrlBvw.png Zoom in of that image to prove it's photoshopped: https://i.imgur.com/32k1Slf.png Threatening to leak personal info of someone else: https://i.imgur.com/XmW3Dd7.jpg Form your own opinion from these screenshots. Mitch might not be the best person for Altis Life, but he's far better than Frank.

My bad, was just skimming through the rules and the format makes the subrule a bit difficult to read.
  14. Wex

Does this rule mean that if cops are engaged in a combat situation at another location and a bank gets hit, those cops are no longer in dec and are immune from being killed? Because if that's the case it would cause a lot of confusion and I don't see why it's fair to the players who were engaged in combat with cops to have their dec called off.
  15. Wex

You'd have more success trying to merge with an exile community. Last time Straya did Exile, it was popular for the first week then barely had any players after that. I'd rather the work go towards pop up servers, something like a modded I&A or wasteland. A game mode where you can get decent pop for the weekend or a week then shut it down and bring it back after a few months.
  16. Made my reply in private to prevent a public drama issue.
  17. Wex

Add in a red cape so you can fly for 15 minutes.
  18. Wex

Don't think Arma 3 and its communities are suitable for anyone 11 years old.
  19. Wex

That would be exploiting which is against the server rules. Corruption is more like extorting money, taking bribes to look the other way, something like that. Corruption is something that is dealt internally within police rather than through server staff.
  20. Was introduced not long ago and it turned Straya into Wasteland. There are better ways to improve the server.
  21. Wex

Pretty sure it only wipes if you get killed by another player. If it was from suicide or an accident, then the charges remain. If they remain after they have been killed by another player then it is a glitch.
  22. Wex

The problem here is that a lot of cops will probably jump on after the wipe, SRT will probably be patrolling around drug fields/processing since there's no point for them doing GD when there's already a lot of cops on GD. This leaves civilians with few options: Do legal runs and protect yourself with legal weapons without risk of being arrested. Do illegal runs with a truck but shitty gear with high risk of being arrested/killed. Do illegal runs with a shitty vehicle but decent gear with high risk of being arrested/killed. The only way you could compete against SRT/other gangs and safely do drug runs is if there's 10 of you and you share the starting money around. Of course all this is just a possibility, there might not even be a lot of cops on during and SRT might not go around drug fields.
  23. Wex

I think some servers have some system where you can revive someone that's incapacitated but if you kill them they need a medic.
  24. Wex

I wouldn't say a complete reset but just remove people who aren't putting in the effort or care in their job. Surely you're still doing the thing with non-issues and issues where you can monitor what each support team member is doing and there must be some way of monitoring moderator activity.
