Police Aviation Scout Wing

Recommended Posts

Not pol-air more along the lines of fixed wing prop aircraft that can be used to drop SRT & Dets off on observation/recon missions.

Example:

There is a gang that's taken over a hideout and there is a per-requisite amount of rebels in the vicinity (5+) that have committed certain crimes (i.e. murder of officer of the law or 3+ civi murders). A specially trained officer can HALO drop from the biplane with ghillie gear (no long guns allowed because that falls into SRT sharpshooter role) to recce the area and guide a police response team in (like a CO of a bank type deal) and co-ordinate the actions of the response team. Maybe give the "police scout" a script that lets them place and pack up a bicycle. Also make it so the Scout is a specific training and the pilot for the fixed wing is a specific training (something like the scout can only carry GD gear other than the ghillie and the pilot can only fly above 2000m so the people on the ground can't hear or really see the plane).

In no way would I get the scout plane to replace pol-air for chases and on-going sits. The scout plane would literally only be used to insert the police scout. I would also make these two roles only available to sergent and above due to the landing skills needed for the bi-plane and the trust needed to be able to spawn a bike.

Thoughts?

Interesting Concept But in Practice Idk how effective it would be.

Far too specific to ever be used, there are already existing strategies that perform the same task with more effectiveness such as [REDACTED] and maybe even [REDACTED].

Good idea, however the niche of it would hardly be fufilled due to the nature of operations by divisions. Generally parachuting into operations is a lot more risky than driving in a hunter or flying in a helicopter. The caesar can only land on larger airstrips or lots of land with no objects, where as a helicopter can fufill the same role whilst being able to land in a much smaller area.

If the meta was different for combat this idea might work.

There's no need, specifically with the small amount of rebel population. There used to be a Polair divisions which operated similarly and it was pretty useless. Like Prophecy said it is far too specific when there's an existing system that works. At most you could work to revise the existing POLAIR to make it more efficient with ops where you could speak to Fedora and Deadpool.

In future APD suggestions should lie within the APD Suggestions section on the forums, discord or taken to cabinet directly.
