Similar to the Squad Icons you can see upon joining a squad in game (The green hectogon i think the shape is called) but have a Blue Icon that tells you where a Teammate is or if the speck in the distance running down a hill is a friendly or not and save having to focus real hard on that speck to see that 'friendly' tag pop up ... also saves opening the map and scrolling and all that.
