Hey guys, I am noticing that there is still a very high level of break-ins , robberies and hold ups occurring. Neri and Westpac still get hit on a regular basis, not to mention peoples houses being broken into, or them and their cars and vehicles and property being robbed out in the open road. I thought that given this is occurring so frequently, that it would make sense to start up a private security contractor group. Well I went ahead and did just that, creating the ADG - Aegis Defence Group. A well trained group of individuals who privately contract ourselves out to government, police or private individuals , at a cost, in exchange for protective services of property, assets, personnel, or even surveillance. However, business isn't exactly booming. Its rather lacklustre. I wonder if it is the case that people simply would rather take the risk than pay ? Though that doesn't make sense to me, given how high the risks actually are of cartels and rebel gangs. Give me some feedback here , because I want to start a successful business . What sort of services do you guys want? (Police please feel free to give feedback too - you guys would be our biggest customers)

Ah yeah. Shame bout all that crap.

Who has the sexiest, manliest voice of all? Griffin or Dredd? Any how many times were you confused thinking Dredd was Griffin, or Griffin was Dredd?
-
I know that. I was asking him what his callsign was in it.
-
Huge fan of TFAR here, and whilst disappointing it didn't go through, im glad to see you guys at least testing it out.
-
I'd like to get involved in a 'good cop, bad cop' routine with Dredd. It'll either terrify whoever we do it on, or put them in hysterics. Or maybe make them hysterically terrified.
-
What was your callsign in SOCOMD?
-
If you played in the SGPD - you'd get it. I didn't know there was some sort of unwritten rule around what is considered 'off-topic'.

I know that a lot of civs want to be able to RP as Civil Protection Groups / Private Military Contractors. Legal Bounty Hunters is also another thing people are considering. (Tracking down wanted criminals, restraining them and bringing them in to the police for a hefty cut of the bounty) Currently it's not something that the Admins are willing to consider. But I think if this were reviewed, people would be less inclined to steer towards criminal activities. I believe the only reason people engage in so much criminal activity is because they're bored and have nothing to do. What I suggest we do is , 1. Create a Private Security Contractor License / Bounty Hunter License - issuable by authority of the Commissioner / SGPD + a one off fee. (Should be fairly high - $2 mil ? Gives people something to work towards. Same with Bounty Hunter License) 2. Issuable fee grants civilians enterable authority to enter onto police base, access to limited military-grade gear. (Would keep this limited to 5.56mm and CTRG gear. People geared as CPG / PMC should be able to be easily identified as different to Cops / Rebels) 3. Anyone found abusing / misusing their license for illegal purposes will be stripped of it and then have to purchase a new one if sent to jail. (Thereby, costing them $2 mil - which would be a pretty big hit to most people) 4. CPG's / PMC's can be requested by police to perform certain tasks, for a fee. (I.E Escort someone, guard an area (Prison, Banks, Police HQ, Market, etc). 5. Provides an avenue for any retired police officers to pursue a way of legally earning good money within the boundaries of the law. We currently already have something in effect similar to this - the Secret Service. However, I don't think it is fair or reasonable to allow just this group of individuals to enjoy the freedoms they enjoy, whilst all other civilians are restricted on what they can do within legal guidelines. And because their freedoms are restricted within the legal boundaries in Altis Life, they turn to criminal activities instead, which in the end, just leads to a constant stream of Striders ramming people off roads, rebels taking over huge territories and in the end, the Life server feels more like a Wasteland server. PMC's can help put a stop to this, in more ways than one. I'd really like to see this happen and I know a lot of other people want this too.

It's simple. SGPD must always respond with appropriate force to the appropriate threat. Nothing more, nothing less.
-
A large factor about how effective or ineffective a bank heist is also comes down to the rank and speciality of cops on. If there are 4+ SRT cops on, than chances are you're going to have a bad time. If there are 9 or 10 Const, Probs or Rcts on - you're just going to annihilate them since junior ranks tend to end up severely outgunned.
-
Ramming using your vehicle is consistent with the same use of any other lethal force. So long as a declaration is active, than using defensive or offensive driving maneuvers against whomever you are in an active lethal declaration with should be fine. However, the rules should be explicit that if you are intent on ramming someone, know that due to the volatile nature of car chases at high speeds, any offensive or defensive maneuvers could result in death for both you and the person you intend to ram, so there should be some rules on it ; 1. Defensive / Offensive Vehicle Driving should be incorporated with Const. Training. This is known as EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course) 2. Defensive / Offensive Vehicle Maneuvers (PIT maneuver, Rolling Roadblock) should only be used when lethals are authorised.

Maybe you guys get this a lot but what is StrayaGaming's stance on mods? Many mods are widely recognised for their ability, practicality and the level of realism they introduce to the game. (Task Force Radio, for example) Is there any plan for Straya Gaming to trial any mods at any point in the future?
-
I'd keep the one server and implement Task Force Radio. Task Force Radio would utterly invaluable, for so many reasons:- -Improved comms for Police to reduce radio clutter. (Keep all police in 1 TS channel, just use diff frequencies) -Would allow in-game news broadcasting and music from your radio / car stereo -Improved comms -Better control over conversations (whispering to reduce people listening in to private convos, and yelling, to ensure that declarations are heard better) -Did I mentioned improved comms and car stereo? Considering TFAR is such a small mod, it really does bring a lot to the table and I hope you guys consider putting it in in 2017.

Is there anywhere I can find what donating will get you? (i.e Special tags, TS slots, donator shop, etc)

I'd like to see gangs start to be more creative. Altis Life should not be a haven for trolls and murderers. If you want to just shoot people up, go play invade and annex. I feel like people have this instinct (probably subconsciously) that, 'There's rules, and rules are meant to be broken.' - attitude. They want to be the 'bad guy'. But being a 'good bad guy' , isn't just about being a mindless killer. Any idiot can be a killer. But it takes intelligence and imagination to be a really nasty criminal. Often all we see are people just looking for an excuse to cause mayhem and chaos for it's own sake, and to me, that's just idiocy and juvenile. It reminds me of this; The next time you go on a killing spree, a trolling spree, or just start causing a ruckus or mayhem with no real goal or reason behind it, just remember - this right here, this is what the rest of the server is thinking about you. I would love to see a more hardline stance taken against this sort of thing.
-
Holy crap dude. I think this is setting the record for biggest comp request ever.
-
No. It is an incentive to increase kills and RDM people. The mods and admins have their hands full as it is, and people struggle with the concept of RP. Adding a feature like this will allow more freedom, yes, but not the kind of freedom you want people to encourage or allow...

In an effort to establish a more fun, organised and interesting mode of approach to illegal activities in SG Altis, a new venture is underway in 2017! Hosted by FOX, the USL or Underground Racing League, will be commencing in 2017!!!! What is this amazing new venture, you ask? Racing, in Altis? What could be more awesome! Imagine Fast and the Furious meets Altis Life. THIS CAN ALSO BE USED AS A MEDIUM FOR RIVAL GANGS TO SETTLE THEIR DIFFERENCES AND BECOME UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONS ONCE AND FOR ALL WITH STYLE AND SKILL - ON THE TRACK. The rules will be relatively simple; Entry forms will be applied here. You can enter in with any vehicle. Yes, Sports Hatchbacks are acceptable. (Bearing in mind that their speed and acceleration is dangerously fast and with desync as well as their poor hull integrity, your loss of life likelihood is high) Here are the rules; -Contestants must pay an entry fee of $100,000 to the host. Winner takes all minus bookies fee. (Cut of 10% as an organiser fee) -For those of you who cant do simple math, that means 10 contestants = $900,000 winners prize pool. Not a bad earning for 45 seconds - 1 minute of racing. Much less risk than your bank jobs or drug runs. -External interference is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. If you interfere with the race, you will have a high bounty put on your head; be hunted down and executed with extreme prejudice. The bounty will apply to your entire gang if you are in one also. -Only 1 contestant allowed to each vehicle. -Ramming is permitted. Waivers will be recorded verbally upon entry. Loss of vehicle, limbs, life and funds is a risk taken by entering the competition. -As the race is illegal, there is a potential for police interference. Notice of the exact time and location of the race will be sent privately to all participants. -Armed guards will be on standby to reduce interference by police and external variables, but we cannot completely guarantee safety of participants. -Start and finish lines will be clearly marked. Any false starts or deviating from the track will result in disqualification. We will have varying types of races depending on the success of our first race - including Drags, Drifting Competitions, and Offroad Rally. PROFESSIONAL RACE EXPERTS will judge future events. Please note your participation here. You will be contacted privately with further information once you and your vehicle are listed. You may include a sponsorship gang or company if you wish for advertisement purposes. Regards, Griffin - Co-Leader of FOX. PLEASE NOTE - This event is being organised by FOX Exclusively. There is no moderator / administrator agreement or approval. Therefore, all rules and conditions of the race are subject to change at the discretion of FOX. That said, FOX does guarantee that any cancellation of the race due to unforseen circumstances will result in the full refund of entry fee to all contestants without condition.

Also another possible idea for making money by legal means would be to open up a Real Estate Agent. One could purchase up property - then lease / rent it out to others. People can have contracts, leasing it for maybe 2 weeks, 1 month, or a long term lease, like 3 - 6 months, and in that time they can use the property and put their stuff in there, but they don't own it. This is a great way of investing cash into "bricks and mortar" as the saying goes, and also setting yourself up to get a return.

Roleplay is only limited as far by two things; 1. Your imagination 2. The rules With these in mind, the possibilities are , quite simply, limitless. I've come up with a huge number of both legal and illegal ways for groups to make money, including examples like; LEGAL -Insurance Companies (Insuring contents, buildings, cars, businesses for a premium) -Security Contractors / Private Military Contractors ("GANGS" are already doing this ad-hoc by responding to banks - might as well officialise it) ILLEGAL -Illegal street racing competitions (Think Need4Speed meets Altis Life) -Weapons Trafficking (Buy rebel weapons, sell them in major cities at a profit) -Racketeering (I.E 'Protection Service' for businesses / groups, against the very group providing the service) Thoughts everyone?

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we all from the SGPD wish you well and look forward to seeing you make a glorious comeback in 2017. Regards, Griffin.
