Thanks man...appreciate it. First step to fixing a problem is admitting you got one. Clearly that's been done, so I'm content.

@Red With this wipe can we expect to see some improvements on actioning community feedback..? I speak for many others when I say that the community doesn't have a voice and Strayagaming is becoming an Oligarchy, run by the admins, for the admins / their best mates ...

I've been role playing now for about 15 years on and off, longer than some players here have been alive. And in that time, I've learnt a thing or two. From The man, the myth, the Griff , here's a step by step guide that'll take your role playing into next level. 1. You don't need combat for good roleplay. Imagine your best movies. Pulp Fiction. Reservoir Dogs. Goodfellas. Heat. All these movies have one thing in common. Little combat, great dialogue. The combat accentuates the dialogue and it means when combat DOES finally occur, it's sudden , shocking and catches everyone off guard. The good guys / victims are lulled into a false sense of security with conversation. More to come....

@Skyfise @Liam Sarcich I'm gonna showcase some of my RP interactions, just to prove to you guys how wicked the game can be , when even not a single shot is fired. Stay tuned.

Name: Griffin Player ID (If Blacklisted): - Date of Disciplinary Action: Unknown What Disciplinary Action was placed against you: TS APD channel Blacklist / Cop Blacklist Who were you Disciplined by: Mitch Reason for Disciplinary Action against you: Drunken Rant Why the appeal should be accepted: [50 Words] Aside from the occasional drunken rant and stupidity , I think on the whole, I've been a fairly good cop and made some solid contributions to the APD in my time. I was Chief Ins. head of Melbourne for a few months, and in which time, I was able to make Melbourne a really strong hive of activity , not just for cops but also civs. I was behind some strong initiatives to make multi-million dollar busts. I also was 2IC of ASIO, and was responsible for several intel gathering and stakeout operations which led to major successful busts against some of the worst gangs Straya has had to deal with . Beside that, i'm a great trainer and have had the pleasure of being a senior to some cops who are now in very high ranking positions, and I've been credited as being their mentor and teaching them many great skills they now use. Any other information: I don't think 1 or 2 drunken rants is cause to just wipe out an entire career in the APD of a pretty good cop, who has had a positive impact on the APD overall. I don't claim to get along with everyone - in fact some of the other cops in the APD I think are downright assholes, and they probably think the same of me, but I just stay out of their way , and get on with the job of busting crims and teaching new , junior cops how to be the best at this and always get the bad guy. So really, at the end of the day if you guys want someone who brings skill, experience, and training ability to the force, then you'll have me back and see what I can do. Former Chief Inspector Griffin :P

An APD officer always aims to take the suspect alive. The job of APD is to save lives, not take them. If you're getting so salty over being arrested, then stop being a crim and we won't taze or knock you down. Simple.
-
@Wex @Connor I'm disgusted that people are taking advantage of this by combat logging when arrested or in the process of being arrested. combat logging has spiked dramatically. People are conveniently "getting kicked" whenever they get arrested, and most do not log back on, or will simply keep "getting kicked" until the arresting officer gets fed up and quits. this crap needs to end. Admins MUST crack down on this blatant exploitation and rule breaking.

Return on investments - pretty straightforward; -Shipping Companies -Storage Companies (People with housing that cant fit any more shit, can use storage facilities (I.E Think Kennards) - so if you own a large warehouse area, people store shit in your warehouse, and u charge them a premium on it -Private Security HQ Companies (Place and set-up for people to store and stash large quantities of company-owned gear) -Real Estate (Place for people to purchase , sell, or offer rental on properties they own) -Pick-Up / Towie Companies -Mechanic / Autotune Service (Place people can bring cars to install upgrades for speed, steering, armour, etc) -Shooting Range / Firearms Trainer (This is an excellent idea, because it can provide people a safe, comfortable area to provide weapons training and handling for a fee to those who want it. New ARMA 3 gamers are always starting out, and buy guns, but don't know how to use them properly. Experienced vets of the game could very easily teach others the best way to shoot and handle their guns and make use of cover , distance, etc) Obviously some of these ideas would require additional scripting, but they're pretty sound. There are also a lot of ideas out there that would require no scripting, no buildings - only creativity and imagination. Tbh, it's quite sad that as soon as people get a fair amount of money, the first thing they default to doing is crime and shooting up civs / cops for the lolz. Yes, it's a FPS game, but srsly, if you want to kill things that badly, why not play on a wasteland server? This is a role-play server guys. Learn to role-play.

I like these ideas one thing that I would suggest is being able to make commercial building purchases instead of just residential. Obviously this will cost significantly more and it would allow people with big wells of money to sink that money into solid investments to see long term returns.

General Alias: Griffin In-Game Role Play Name: Griffin TeamSpeak Name: Griffin Age (Minimum 15): ...30. Steam 64 ID/Player ID: 765611197968704962 Questionnaire: - Why were you removed from the APD? I gave my resignation to Brad when i was stripped of the rank of Chief Inspector - as was 99% of the cop force, whether they had a good service record or not. (A decision i still disagree with; i admit, some members did require a bump down the chain, but a universal blank-demotion was extremely excessive) Why should you be reenlisted back into the APD? During the time I served Melbourne LAC and the police under my command, i was able to accomplish many, many things: -I petitioned successfully for prowlers to be implemented in Melbourne LAC in general service duties, better enabling the police force to adapt and survive to the harsh environment of Melb LAC. -I ran many successful training schedules, teaching junior police officers, who have now grown into becoming fierce, capable leaders themselves. -I ran a fierce ongoing operation to stamp out drug trafficking -I was 2IC of APD Intelligence, and through many successful reconnaisance missions with intelligence officers, we were able to conduct many sweeping raids across organised crime syndicates, stripping them of rebel weapons, ammunition, explosives, clothing and drugs, exceeding a street value of $900,000,000 (Some of the cartels we hit include, but are not limited to , Somali Pirates, Aobe, TSF and NTR) - If you enlist into the APD, where do you see yourself in 3 months?: -In 3 months or so, i'd like to be progressing up the chain back into a role where I can be best put to use. Ideally i'd like to be able to reintroduce a proper intelligence organisation that focuses on surveillance, raids and undercover operations. What do you believe you can bring to the Altis Police Department ?: One thing that stands out is I speak my mind. I am very direct, but I am fair. I will not intentionally go out of my way to insult or harass people. I say things how it is. This has, at times, ruffled people up the wrong way who mistake my mannerism for insolence, however, I only treat others fairly and as I would expect to be treated. This extends up and down the chain of command. I believe that if a senior officer is making a mistake, they should be given a chance to be made aware of it, corrected, rather than continuing to make the error again. I deliver strong leadership skills, organisational skills, and fair, sound judgement. I've always tried to have a fair and reasonable amount of respect for others, including those who rank above me, though I do not believe a rank will permit someone to commit blind errors, be it an error of judgement tactically, or behaviourally. In the past, even recently so, I've been made away of the shortcomings of the APD, but I wish to become a part of the solution - rather than sit on the sidelines and simply wish and want for it's failure like others. I do personally feel that there will be roadblocks - It's no secret i've made some enemies along the way, but I feel that I made some great mates, and those mates are now leading officers, heading up the APD - people that, during my time in Melbourne LAC, people like Bow, like Augnov, like Moygstar, listened, learned, and become capable , strong leaders in themselves and learnt skills from me. Though that said, I do know there are those who don't take kindly to my direct, no-bs approach, and there always will be individuals like that - one cannot be expected to have absolutely every single police officer as their best friend. What they can hope for, is to make a lasting, positive impact on the APD - and I feel that, for the most part, i did just that. Moving forward, my sole intention is to act as a supporting element to the current leaders. To have their back when they stumble, to support their decisions, to provide sound, fair counsel when they make the wrong decisions, and be that guy once more who ends up hauling in 6-10 crims at a time, screaming at the top of their lungs because they got caught, and having those shining moments. Are you up to date with the new Police Protocols that were in effect as of 04/06/2017? Yes, I am. How much time can you dedicate to the Altis Police Department?: A reasonable amount of time - I do have work / family commitments, but my free gaming time, which averages about 7-10 hours a week If you were demoted for any reason other than Inactivity, you are required to have at least two referrals from a Sergeant or above. Who are you referrals (@their forum name): -As stated before (Clarified also with Augnov) - mass reset demotion occurred, and resignation ensued.

G'day all, I'm putting together a team of tactically-minded soldier boys for an I&A Squad. We will have scheduled deployments nights on the server. Our Op nights will be; Friday: 8:30pm AEST Saturday: 8:30pm AEST Currently seeking men for the following roles - it'll be first come, first serve, and your role becomes yours. If you leave the squad, or are a no-show for 3 consecutive weeks, you'll be removed from the roster. You can set yourself as a reserve if you are interested but can't commit to these times solidly. I don't particularly like using snipers because they hog kills and pick targets off 1km+ out, leaving the rest of the squad with nothing and no one to kill. Current Roles: Team Leader: Griffin Medic: - Autorifleman : - Grenadier: - AT Specialist / 2IC : - Demo Specialist: - Engineer: - Rifleman / Ammo Bearer: - Looking forward to rolling out with you guys. Our play style will be casual, but still using real-life applicable combat tactics to maximise enemy kills and minimise friendly losses.

Tell us who your favorite cop is and why. I don't know bout being a favorite but one of my tops would have to be Moygstar. Dedicated, skilled and a lot of fun to be around, especially undercover. He is my "Chewbacca."

What's funnier than your sarcasm is, he actually has a point.

G'day all, ive been been deliberating about ways in which SG can sustain itself going into the future. I know that we are the most popular oceanic server by far in arma 3, but A3 will only last so long. In saying that, it poses a problematic question; what happens to this community we have spent so much time, effort and money into when the A3 bandwagon dies? so I spoke with some admins, inc Leopard, and decided to undertake an endeavour: To use the popularity of free to play games as a platform to grow SG. so I'm reaching out for help. I've got a few games I'm keen on like Mechwarrior Online and Warhammer 40k: Eternal Crusade. But I need more ideas and more people involved. I want you to work with me in expanding and growing SG. if you have a proactive attitude and the time to put in, let me know and let's make sure SG is around for a long time, not just a good time.
-
Yeah its a shame that it got to where it did - if people had more understanding instead of acting autocratically, it would have been better.
-
So here's some of the key ideas I wanted to roll out for us to expand: DayZ Survivor groups Dota / LoL in-house tournaments. Mechwarrior online clan Warhammer 40k clan By branching out into other games beside ARMA, we are reaching out to the Australian gaming community as a whole, not just the ARMA Australian community. Once other individuals and people see us and our skill, they'll want to be a part of what we are. With persistence , planning and some luck, this will work. The beauty of it is it won't cost us or SG a cent.
-
Hellz no. I don't want that kind of responsibility. I just want to help keep the community going. I have a low tolerance threshold for peoples bullsh*t. If I had to put up with half of what the current admins / community managers do, I'd lose it and go full Alf Stewart on everyone.
-
Just wanted to shout out to all my mates up in QLD and the top end - we are with you brothers. T.C Debbie can go screw off - you queenslanders have gone through a lot worse, and she's just a blowie. Hope you are all safe, your home is safe, and to those of you affected I'll do everything I can to help you out.

Gday gents, I recently moved house and had to conduct a full reset and clean up of my PC. In the process, I've lost all my recording software. I used to rely on Overwolf - it was far from perfect, but it got the job done. I didn't use PlayTV because it's a horrid bloodsucking leech of a thing that eats up more CPU and Memory than a fat child eats mcdonalds nuggets. SO - what to do ? I use a fairly powerful AMD Radeon card - not sure of the exact type. Can anyone suggest good recording software for AMD? Sadly, I don't have the bling for an NVidia like all you rich kids.

Respectfully, Leopard, this isn't about Marc. This is about SOB. Marc is before my time but i have heard of his deeds and whilst I'm sure they are great, SOB has earnt himself a place amongst the greats too. Nobody can dispute that.
-
Well done SOB on a successful and dignified career in the APD. You served with distinction and the APD will hold you in the highest regard. You have earnt the right to be immortalized in our halls of fame.

Funny you mention that. I am actually handling my PD (Melbourne) a little different. People who do the right thing, show the right attitude and go above and beyond will get rewards. Fancy hats are one of them. Fyi this is Griffin in case anyone didn't know.
