Hey guys this is going to be a big post with a fair bit of detail. I'd appreciate instead of just reading the comments and the post itself if you could interact with it in some way (i.e. leaving a comment or just doing a react) so the staff know that people are looking for changes/updates to the AL server (you don't necessarily have to agree with this post but the react shows to staff that people want changes). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Updates for Civ & Cop: - Make banks provide half the payout that they currently do as this would encourage more civs to do runs of substances rather then rely on banks for payouts (also makes tapping and running less viable. - Remove the rotation for banks and allow a mass amount of banks on to the map (This would give more options to civ for bank raids and also make it harder for APD to anticipate the upcoming bank raid with drones or PolAir following ifrits places and with the half payout from the first suggestion it would mean that if the APD lost a bank more often it wouldn't hurt as much) - Remove the city limit rules from Sydney as this would make SYD ratting less viable as it just becomes another part of the map and doesn't require a constant APD presence. Updates for Civ: - Make it so you can have saved kits that you can repurchase if you have the correct money amount on you at rebel (makes people hang around rebels safezone less and puts more people out in the world). - Make the first spawn city for civs Adelaide (there isn't APD there and this would stop SYD ratting because they feed off the police and it protects the newbies because it is a safezone area where they can earn a bit of money in peace (Glass) before going into the wide world). - Conduct a mass unban of players who've either committed minor offences such as not giving enough time between a dec and killing the person (at least they dec'd) and duping (as I believe all the duping glitches have been patched out). - Create more Cap points around the map as this would mean that one gang can't just control the entrance to KOS island and monopolize the caps away from smaller gang (maybe even fold some of the Gang Hideouts into cap points as well so they become doubly valuable forcing more rebs to move around the map) - Increase max money for the grinders - Implement a bounty system for civs who've got contractor. This would create more gang on gang pvp as one gang would try to kill the bounty of another gang (if the reward is worth-while) and this would also work toward mitigating the money wastage on civs for kits. Updates for Cop: - Make it so Det & SRT can go out on ops as soon as there is more than 6 GD cops on (ie if there is 7 cops on and 2 of the 7 are Det then only one of the Dets are allowed on ops until another GD unit gets on or another div member joins afterwards meaning they take up their rotation of GD allowing the div members who've been on longer to go out on ops) - Move the main APD base away from SYD to Melbourne. This would make SYD rats even less viable as they tend to feed off the APD and always getting into fights with them. This would force the SYD rats to go global meaning there will be more Reb interaction out in the world. This would also make PolAir a much more useful tool than it currently is as a PolAir division based at Melbourne is able to access all parts of the map quiet easily. - Morph the CO role into someone who assigns areas of the map to GD units and pairs officers appropriately rather than someone who is made to take charge of every situation in SYD. This would still mean that it is all APD units responsibility to respond to banks still and a CO is still assigned for that bank. - Create patrol zones for GD unites (i.e. from Agios to Melbourne for one unit, Sydney to Agios for another). This would potentially make highway patrol training more viable and spread the APD out for more RP and PVP rather than bunch them all together in SYD market and have them watch the SYD rats kill and spike strip each-other. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lets try and get some more realistic requests going as well gang. It would be nice but tbh that would be at the bottom of the priority list for me. So other server changes would be preferred first.

I don't think that people will hang out in SYD as much if it hasn't got the city limits rule and the APD is based elsewhere. It'd be in the exact same situation as every other town on the map (yes it's a fair bit larger). Also the paper cars and water guns would be a moot point because if it is no longer city limits police would be able to patrol there with 6.5mm. Also I don't see why removing the city limits rule would immediately infest the city with rebels. The rebels would only go there to kill cops and if the cops are based elsewhere there is no point. It'd force them to play more global which makes it exactly like what it is already. If the cops are calling for back-up more because they are out of city limits it means there's more for SRT to do which encourages more people to go for Divs and hopefully more people to commit to the server more which in turn boosts the recurring player-base. Imagine a roaming SRT heli unit. The forced spawn for Adelaide for new players is literally only for their first time logging in to the server. I've seen at least a dozen new players come on in the last 2 weeks that get either RDM'd in SYD and then quit or the get held up by the SYD rats for there $50,000 then they leave because they have nothing anymore and can't do anything except beg for money. If they spawn in at Adelaide they can get the basics going in peace then make their way out into the wider world once they've bought a car and such. They wouldn't even need to spend that long in Adelaide (max 10mins). It doesn't stop them catching the bus elsewhere. Love the chatting about how to make the server better. The main problem I see with it currently is player retention as all the major gangs have disappeared (EL, TGC, INV, DE, FSK, BFB, Clout 9).

Not pol-air more along the lines of fixed wing prop aircraft that can be used to drop SRT & Dets off on observation/recon missions. Example: There is a gang that's taken over a hideout and there is a per-requisite amount of rebels in the vicinity (5+) that have committed certain crimes (i.e. murder of officer of the law or 3+ civi murders). A specially trained officer can HALO drop from the biplane with ghillie gear (no long guns allowed because that falls into SRT sharpshooter role) to recce the area and guide a police response team in (like a CO of a bank type deal) and co-ordinate the actions of the response team. Maybe give the "police scout" a script that lets them place and pack up a bicycle. Also make it so the Scout is a specific training and the pilot for the fixed wing is a specific training (something like the scout can only carry GD gear other than the ghillie and the pilot can only fly above 2000m so the people on the ground can't hear or really see the plane). In no way would I get the scout plane to replace pol-air for chases and on-going sits. The scout plane would literally only be used to insert the police scout. I would also make these two roles only available to sergent and above due to the landing skills needed for the bi-plane and the trust needed to be able to spawn a bike. Thoughts?

I feel the requirements would be very rarely met but It'd be another interesting training and skill to have

As a member of the Altis Police Department (APD from now on) I would find pleasure in all the smaller duties that some of the senior ranks in the APD might not (i.e. dealing with the Sydney troublemakers, conversing with the hardcore rebel gangs as I've built rapport with them already & building a better understanding of what it means to be a member of the APD amongst the raiding & PVP gangs). If you are successful; where do you see yourself in 3 months in the APD (50 words minimum)?: If my application is successful I could see myself in 3 months time as a regular liaison officer between the general population and and the APD. My main goal would be to bridge the gap between the APD and rebel gangs so that many of the situations that end in shoot outs can be resolved peacefully leading to a more RP server. What do you believe you can bring to the Altis Police Department (50 words minimum)?: I believe that I would bring more of a understanding of how certain activities work on the civ side to the APD allowing me to interact with the rebel gangs better and create more role play experiences between the two factions rather than forcing things toward a inevitable gun fight. I would love to be a hostage negotiator as I feel I can talk to and connect with a lot of the people on the server. In summation I want the civilian population of Altis to feel like they can talk to me about their issues and I would in some way be able to assist them (think local community police officer). Do you have any experience as a Police Officers from other servers?: None Other than Police, what previous role play scenarios have you been a part of on Straya-Gaming?: Hardcore rebel takeovers, hostage negotiations, negotiations between rebel gangs, hit-man for hire, bounty placer, server wide competition runner. How much time can you dedicate to the Altis Police Department?: 15+ hours a week Have you ever been banned, kicked or watchlisted from Altis Life at any stage? If so when and why: I've been placed on a watch list for declaring verbally to a vehicle.
