Just thought i'd put this up so anyone who does particularly well in an armoured vehicle can show it off! I'll start us off with these two:
-
While i do like the idea of bringing more use to the ammo bearer, i don't really like the idea of someone being able to carry 15 missiles or 50 magazines, this is why we have vehicles, which have very large storage capacity.

Most people die in Arma because they rush in. I can't say how much success you'll have if you take it slow, but i can guarantee you, you will die if you rush in. When you get to the AO, try to find a good vantage point and scope it out, see where enemies are, which way they are heading, and either try to avoid them or ambush them, I'll warn you that ambushing large groups isn't a great strategy, they lock you down with continuous fire and you cant peek out to fire back, god forbid if you're in the open. Another thing to do, if you see a groups of enemy infantry, mark them on your map as EI, so your team mates can see where they are and plan accordingly. I would highly recommend playing through the tutorials, they give some pretty valuable tips and tactical information that can save your ass in a pinch. Something else that is pretty useful, is always carry a hand full of frag grenades and smoke on you (I normally run 2x frag, 2x white smoke and 2x coloured smoke) it's saved me on more than a few occasions. Even if you have to take one less mag to make room for it in your vest, it can be extremely useful. Well that's all of my protips today, if you want any advice on a specific area, hit me up and i'll see what i can do!

Haha yea the AI cant drive to save themselves. Yea i don't see it used for mines very often either.
-
Personally, i would say yes, but from a balance perspective I'm not sure, as the bobcat is just about as heavy as a Kuma and has a lot of utility to it, such as clearing mines
-
I was thinking maybe something like how the CAS jet is a once per AO type of thing. It all depends who is driving it, if you have someone who is pretty new, then once per AO would be really good, in most cases instant spawn isn't much of a deterrent to play tactically.
-
Personally i think the drive to and from the AO is all part of the tanking experience, and i still think we need the offset to keep it balanced, even if it is a few slots. Plus there is always the respawn if the new AO appears 25km away on the other side of the map.

Just letting you know that the katiba is the CSAT assault rifle
-
The server is 100% up, so I'm not sure what your issue is.
-
I suppose since we don't really see AAF all that much it should be fine, i too like the nice green officer hats ^^
-
Definitely remove CSAT and VR(These can hold a stupidly large amount of items as opposed to normal uniforms, and since the server has no fatigue it doesn't affect them) I think we should remove AAF aswell, keeping in mind that one time we were attacked by a horde of AAF in a counterattack. I'm looking at you @Qeus

Hey guys! To start off, I'll say that i only really play on the I&A server, I've tried wasteland and it isn't really my thing. I guess I'll say a few things about myself, I'm 19, currently living in Melbourne, Australia and studying civil engineering. I love tanks! If you see me ingame I'll most always be driving something with more than 4 wheels and armour! If you see me driving around I'd be more than happy to give you a lift, but if you mess with my AI gunners you'd better be ready to face my wrath! Generally i don't like to have player crews as I've tried it and every single time it's ended in disaster, but if you think you can keep up with me then we might be able to work something out. Well, that's about it for me, if you see me ingame don't hesitate to say hi, I don't bite (mostly). I look forward to playing with you all!
-
I'll definitely be getting it when i have a bit more money. The exchange rate is making the price pretty brutal!
-
I really like the system, I'm excited for when FOB's are added (I was thinking maybe an engineer with a bobcat has to set it up?) There are a few bugs i've encountered, such as it breaking the entire game interface if you try to press escape with the menu up(only had this happen once so far). But other than that i'm pretty happy with the system, it's very easy to use which is good for new people.
-
Well at the moment we have the vehicle respawn feature. But again, a heavy vehicle is a lot of power on the battlefield, they do need something to offset it. If it's that easy to use then it would completely ruin the balance of the game. Similar to what i do when i'm the only one bothered to drive a Kuma 15km to the AO.
-
I can understand why some people don't find a bit of a drive fun but when you've got a full crew to chat with it can make for a pretty interesting drive! As someone who drives APC's and tanks to AO's regularly 10km away i can say with some certainty that if the drive to the AO is what makes you not want to use a tank you really aren't supposed to be driving it. Personally, i think tank drivers should have slots all the same as the pilot slots, but that's a discussion for another time. I 100% agree with Fitz that if we start lifting tanks to the AO it would make it way too easy.

Personally, I've never been a big fan of ACE, it definitely adds another level to the game, and i love the interaction menu, but having arma be that immersive is just a bit too much for me. Which is why I'm so hard pressed to find a server with RHS and not ACE. Personally, i think for that reason (Having ACE) might drive away a lot of newer players who might be scared off by ACE's complexity (I know i would).
-
I for one would love to see a vanilla I&A server (No ACE or any of that) with RHS, I'd give just about anything to have an Abrams or a Bradley in Arma 3!
-
Shhhh! Don't tell anyone that! But seriously, no I'm not that new to strayagaming, but at some point my account got deleted (or something) and I figured it was about time i made a new one. Also, I've now realised how much i want this to be a thing in A3
