    Hello Ash,

    We will not implement public broadcasting of staff actions. All actions are logged and we take abuse seriously.
    Requiring staff to justify their actions in game makes them less effective and can have the opposite effect when they do not justify their actions.
    Players are then left to think up some story which may be true, or may not be.

    Furthermore, it would suggest that StrayaGaming management has zero trust in their staff nor in our ability to stomp out abuse.

    As of 25/05/2019 at 00:00 AEST, all issues which relate to the reporting of a rulebreach on Altis Life now require the person initiating the helpdesk report to be directly involved in the issue (to have ‘standing’). All other services are NOT impacted by this change due to their low incident volumes. If this changes in the future we will announce it.

    As a result, you may initiate a helpdesk report for situations such as where you are being run over, but not any issue to which you would be deemed as a ‘third party’, such as watching another person (who is not apart of the same group) be run over. You may still bring up others who are not directly involved to provide evidence/testimony.


    Being directly involved means that you fit into one of the following categories:

    • Be directly impacted by the incident and did not solely observe an incident.
    • Be apart of a group (As defined by the Altis Life Rules section 5.12) of whom one or more members were directly impacted by the incident, or be apart of the Police or Paramedic factions bringing up an issue that affects another member of the same faction.
    • Be reporting an incident which impacts all members, such as illegitimately impacting the server economy through duping/exploiting, hacking/scripting etc.

    If you have any questions, feel free to bring up your questions with the support team or altis life staff.

    Truly amazing work that you have done here Connor!

    Not only developing AL solo, but also in conjunction with your health condition you powered on doing what most other large communities have big teams of developers for.
    That is no small feat and deserving of a much bigger praise than anyone here can give you.

    I just want to say that the staff team involved at the time wanted to be proactive and took a bit of a gamble. I retired before the update was ready and implemented, but at that time the following was true:

    Most staff involved believed that by moving things to brisbane:

    • it would be better overall for the server
    • we can decrease the toxicity such as certain gangs declaring and shooting anyone, without those being able to 'get going' by evading them, as most things were contained in sydney, whereas in the new model it was spread out
    • Prevent the constant robbing of people doing 'newbie' runs which is often complained about by the non-forum vocal players (generally new or semi-new people) who at times waste all their money trying to complete one run and then quit out of frustration

    However, the consensus with all was that we need to make the update feature-rich, and capture zones were a definite feature to be added at the time of my departure. What happened between then and the release, I do not know.

     

    What I experienced with Frank during my time was someone who has breached our rules on a few occasions, specifically by ban-evading (a community ban) and popping up in our TeamSpeak server from time to time. Make your own judgement of him, but I will mention that it is extremely difficult to change ones underlying traits, so if he has indeed changed, really well done to you Frank, but on the other hand, don't just take a persons word that they 'changed'.

    I appreciate the view submitted by Frank, however, the broad attack on both Wex's character, as well as anyone 'defending StrayaGaming' in the final sentence is a nefarious way to finish a statement in my opinion.

    I can't comment on other things, but this is the biggest joke I have ever seen...

    The only credible staff abuse of powers & abilities was from some individuals looking to 'leave with a bang' (E.g. giving themselves a big comp payout or nazi-fying  database before quitting) or the Wasteland conundrum.

    The rest of the complaints were either from individuals who wanted to lash back out at the staff, or were so pissed off that they were stopped from breaking the rules that they managed to type out one sentence saying 'this person yelled at me' without a braincell left.

     

    But seriously, while I was staff, there was surprisingly little actual abuse. It was sadly a bit boring imo... I would have preferred more ?

    You are getting pissed off at a cop for giving you a SHORTER punishment?

    Totally agree, cops getting away with giving lower punishments is ***ing rediculous (<- Sarcasm in case you were wondering)

    What annoys me more is some players not using appropriate channels to report staff/cops etc.

    Also, I feel like my signature is being ripped off by someone.

    Please dont make generalizations unless you have something to back it up with. Some decisions may need to be done immediately to prevent repercussions to ALL parties involved. If a large group dislikes it (And not just your gang buddies), make a post. The community is more than just 'the rebel groups and the cops'.

    Have a look through the following graphs, all of which were taken of the top AUSTRALIAN  (This bit is important) servers. Sadly there does not seem to be many outside of Strayagaming and Darkside...

    What you will see is a decline for ALL of the Servers. Most of the 'Time Played' and 'Unique & First time players' show the almost exact same decline (with the exception of one).

    It is therefore very unlikely that the decrease is solely due to 'the wipe', 'the update' or anything else you can throw in there. There is a clear drop across australian servers which suggest that something outside of any of our servers is impacting these numbers. Such as, exams for example.

    So please, dont just scream 'X is ruining the playerbase with Y actions'.

     

    What do we do? Write a petition to the Australian Parliament that exams need to be abolished because it impacts player numbers. :wesmart:

    By adding the option to spawn at Sydney, everyone will then spawn there because it's what people are used to. The options to spawn outside of Sydney were also there in the last iteration, but were rarely used. Ultimately, this is about weighing up the pros/cons not only for established gangs, but also brand new players who may not want to be murdered every time they play 'hop over the safezone line, I dare you'. I have not been on the server in a long time, so really, I dont know how it is now - there are just my points.

    As for the updates, the ones which were done (All of version 7.2.X) involved resolving bugs found here: https://strayagaming.com.au/altis-life-bug-tracker/public-reports/
    If you look through there, there are a few requiring an update to be implemented. What I would assume here is that there will be a larger update, rather than 100 small ones requiring you to download the file over and over again.

    Or, alternatively, SG doesnt care about you and does this all to toy with you for their enjoyment. Who knows :Kappa:

    I would assume that staff know about the imbalance. I would also assume that they want to keep player numbers, or they wont have a place to be biased at, because there would be no players to be biased against :wesmart:

    If staff truly were completely biased for the cops, they would want the cops to be able to play against rebels and not suck each other off in GD watching pubslots. Mauling all rebels during the restart would make cops worse off.

    Anyhow, in my 'expert' opinion, I will just guess that certain staff are taking precautions around this matter.

    Greetings everyone,

    I have planned to leave at the beginning of the month, but I have ultimately made this public post now? Why is that? Well, I have been to busy to retire, now isn't that ironic ;). Also I am just submitting this right before work so i dont know how complete this is...

    I want to be as frank and straightforward as possible with what happens behind the scenes. Communication between the staff team was extremely difficult initially, however it is slowly improving which is great. Toxicity and backstabbing each other is probably the biggest reason as to why things go wrong (not just from staff members) - this point was not relating to the very recent forums mess when I wrote it a month ago.

    Working through the ranks from support team I was apart of groups and we always managed to find something negative about the higher ups and their decisions. When we got asked about it, or could have spoken out about those issues we never did, instead keeping it to ourselves until we exploded. Sadly, this is still the case at times. My tip would be to talk it out with them, instead of fuming and going off to the next manager.

    As for Red, well...

    He is great - he does things which are necessary even if they seem abrupt or 'out there'. He deals with those noone else would be comfortable with and I must say his occasional 'spring cleanings' were a real treat.

    I will still be there to maintain my documents, and may return if I end up having more time (Not before Dec.). It was a pleasure to be here with every one of you (unless you went :babyrage: and broke some google docs, because I like google docs).

    I hope everyone enjoys their time and have a good rest of the year!

    Correct me if I am wrong, but...

    If you WANT to be perm banned, but are not getting that perm ban;
    then wouldn't that mean the staff are punishing you correctly because you are not getting what you want?

    What is this all about?

    Recently, we have recorded a few individuals who have been using an exploitation method which we were alerted to recently. It appears that this method was rather popular. As such, we find it just to give them the popularity they so deserve. So sit back and eat some popcorn.

    All individuals who have been observed using the method have, and will be spoken to. Honesty goes a long way here. They will then have their houses wiped, their bank balance reduced to a maximum of 8 million and then banned for one week. (Outdated)

    Edit #2: The second round sees a ban of one month, with a chance for public appeal after one week. (Outdated)

    Edit #3: The third and all consecutive bans see an indefinite ban, with a chance for a public appeal. You will receive a complete player wipe.

    If you have duped in the past, are currently duping, know of dupers or of duplication methods, we suggest that you come forward (we can discuss incentives). There are still some individuals which we will approach regarding this.

    No, please only use reactions to show your love/hate. This place is only meant to provide fame to those that have earnt their rightful place on here (by duping).
     

    I was banned, what options do I have?

    Depending on your honesty, you will have to fill out certain elements of the template below, and reply to this post. You do not have to publicly respond here, you may sit out the one week ban in peace without posting here (with the exception of one person).

    If you decide to post here, make sure there is effort placed into the post (e.g. not this: 'im sorry i wont do it again plz unban') or I may not unban you. As soon as a minimum of one day has passed and you have posted the apology, then you will be unbanned and are free to rejoin everyone.
