@KRISTIAN. Feel free to make any suggestions that you believe would genuinely build upon the great work that James32 has done, however we are going to need more than "fix up ur server" if you are trying to justify your opinion. How do you believe returning to the way it was previously would legitimately benefit the server? There was a moment there where I wasn't sure Wasteland was going to survive, as the server population witnessed a decline in it's player base. The dramatic changes made were in retaliation to this decline, and as far as I can tell, it's just what the doctor ordered. Provided we can both maintain the current population we are seeing and build upon it, I am sure we will see Wasteland hanging around for some time to come.

Been really impressed with RUINER, it gets a solid recommendation from me for all those on the fence about it. I don't have Kerbal Space Program, so that's what I'll take a stab at

Legit pretty happy to see how well it's doing, hopefully we can build off of the current momentum and push past 50 players sometime soon.

You access skins via Area 51, a menu that should now be available to you in the 'Home' menu. The appropriate skin options will be available to you once you jump into any vehicle that has custom skins made for it.

Good to see these ideas being thrown around, however there are a few considerations that you might want to think on. Firstly, many I&A players don't just have little sympathy for AI civilians, but go out of their way to kill as many of them as they can. The same can be said for civilian buildings, which, yes, I have been witness to a considerable amount of damage to. There have been particularly interesting AOs where one or two individuals will take it upon themselves to destroy an entire town with some form of explosives or another, which has proven to be a bother to those on the ground not interested in such things. The server does already have roaming AI at both Main Objectives and various Side objectives, which I am sure you are now already aware. From the perspective of an infantryman on the ground playing the game the way it's intended, it is possible to find someone leveling the nearby town distracting, if not bothering. In any instance where ordinance is being detonated outside of reasonable use and with the risk of injury or death to players, it could be considered borderline trolling. This is especially true when we have people wanting to move into the town and clear room to room. My question is, what penalties could we possibly implement that would deter people from destroying buildings? Perhaps it could be linked to the already implemented Robocop threat level system, however I would be concerned about exactly how much good that would bring to the server. Should someone really be penalised for breaking someone else's immersion? I&A is not a milsim experience, and alot of the fun can come from players acting out of character; the question then would be, how far is too far. I&A Admins are people too yo

How so? As far as I'm concerned, the day/night cycle is a feature that definitely adds to the gaming experience. Whether or not what it adds is necessarily a good thing for I&A, I'm not so sure, as although it can be awesome to fight in a new visual environment when everyone is paying attention, it can also be a pain as it is more difficult to discern friend from foe. I&A is a public server, and the simple fact is that for new players, daytime is an easier visual environment to learn and have fun in. Like many vets, I enjoy the night sky from time to time, it's just a harder sell for I&A.

Definitely cool to see different ideas being thrown around but honestly to say that Arma is 'dead' really is pushing it a bit far. If Arma was 'dead', there would be very little insentive for StrayaGaming, other communities or even BI themselves to further develop and flesh out the Arma 3 experience from both a communitarian and a financial perspective. Arma 3, although not currently at it's peak, is definitively not dead. Arma 3 and GTA5 are very different platforms and although in theory it's nice to picture a stable and enjoyable experience with GTA, the simple fact remains that they are completely different games with completely different physics engines. GTA5 does a lot of things right, which is why it is as big as it is, but it lacks the depth that keep people like myself around. Additionally, this entire discussion exists in spite of StrayaLife RPG's development, a solution to many of the issues that Altis Life is currently enduring and no small project being undertaken by those involved. StrayaGaming is thoroughly invested in Arma 3, and although I do think it would be interesting to see maybe a pop-up server or a StrayaGaming GTA event, I feel as though propping up GTA LIFE as the next Altis Life would be a bad decision.

From where I sit, mines are fine to employ on behalf of players so long as they are very clearly marked on Side Chat Map and they are used in good faith with regards to the other players on the server. The problem is that I&A is not a tight, controlled environment where everyone is on the same page, with the same intentions. Whether it be players intentionally using mines to troll or players establishing a "mines and the players who use them are bad" mentality to justify trolling, there is potential on both sides for people to exploit another useful feature to worsen the gaming experience for everyone else. Here it is in plain text, as far as I am concerned, if you place down a mine and someone else steps on it, it is your fault. It doesn't matter how many times you marked it on map or tried to tell people in chat, the teamkill is on you. They died because of what you did, simple as pie. That said, in an environment where trolls don't complicate things and the appropriate responsibility is taken by those laying the mines, mines, yes, can be useful. For those wanting to use mines for the correct purposes, you should be able to go ahead and get it done, however you must understand that there is no excuse for others getting killed because you recklessly assumed that players gave a crap about the map, the chat and the other players around them. In a more serious circumstance, such as a pre planned and organised event, mines could find a particularly interesting place in the game. I&A is often not that serious circumstance. If you asked me, the mine is the mine layer's responsibility, if the other people in the server aren't playing ball, and are getting mine teamkilled for whatever reason, the solution is to stop using mines. If it works, great, if it doesn't, don't push it further than it needs to go. Whether it be via making one specific class responsible for mining or specifically outlining their use in the rules, I do agree that there should be some clarification with what is and isn't an acceptable use of mines. Perhaps other staff members feel differently, perhaps not.
