@Jonathan Make sure your on tonight im opening up the zeus playbook. Last few have just been to see how the server performs under pressure.
  5. webbie

nah hes referring to the zeus missions ive been doing not actual sides although most of the player's consider them side objectives.
  6. webbie

I'll be doing alot more of these, just need some time to work out what can fit into the mission style. The performance of the server is a higher priority which can be difficult to manage with a full server and busy AO. But I can appreciate that you enjoy the missions. I have many more in my book of Zeus.

Hi all, I'll start a little thread here to share your media from Tanoa Tuesdays. Here's some of mine from tonight. It was a lot of fun. @pkisbest REKT
  9. Hello all, Recently Windows 10 decided to add yet another "feature" and not tell you about it and frankly if Overwolf hadnt have told me I'd be clueless too. This is potentially another crash fixer to add at your discretion. WARNING: THIS REQUIRES YOU TO EDIT YOUR REGISTRY. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY. Their are actually 2 methods: 1. If you have an xbox account enabled in windows 10 follow these istructions or continue to method 2. Open Xbox app, you can access it via the start menu search. Sign in - this should be automatic if you normal sign into Windows. The cog in the bottom left access the settings menu. Head to GameDVR at the top and turn it off. 2. If you dont have a xbox account enabled on your windows account follow below very carefully Open Registry Editor (Run > regedit) Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore Set the value of DWORD "GameDVR_Enabled" to 0 Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\ Create key "GameDVR" Create DWORD 32bit called "AllowgameDVR" and set to 0 It was also pointed out in the link that nvidia have just released a new driver which will help mitigate some of these new "feature" issues. Any questions feel free to ask. The original post is here: https://www.pcgamesn.com/how-to-turn-off-gamedvr-windows-10

@Fitz Thats not a bad idea. Maybe you could do a sign with all servers on it as a cross promotion?
  13. webbie

I was actually good with what you had said their. I think seperation the classes wouldn't hurt.
  14. webbie

Great idea @pkisbest Im sure the more serious players would definitely be interested. Will pass the word around. Alot of players do have a better game experience when the play an immersive serious game, I think this would really compliment Tanoa Tuesday :)
  15. webbie

Nope, your absolutely right @pkisbest. Tanoa Tuesday was put in place, not just at player request but also to let people know we also have that server. Sadly a lot people are completely unaware that it even exists even though it has relatively the same hostname in the browser. Tanoa has very different dynamic to it particularly with CQB and the sector control that can be just plain brutal. Some of my most immersive battles have been on Tanoa in the sector control format. I will personally be pushing and participating in the Tanoa Tuesday events.

@decibel_spl First off thank you for making the time to put up the post. Everyone's time is valuable but spending 10 mins to do a forum post allows everyone an open communication. You know better than anyone that my ears and eyes are always open. All of your suggestions have merit however when it comes to the jets we need to have balance. The main purpose of I and A has always been as an infantry oriented platform. I think we've all seen that one tank on a hill with an ammo crate makes an AO redundant for infantry. IMO the cas is suited in its current state as it removes the ability for cas to overpower in the AO. While cas is just that, close air support, it keeps the pilot busy with multi tasks while flying as AA and AtG. As far as it getting shot down if an enemy jet is watching base then that needs to be prioritised over anything else. That in itself needs to be communicated to ground forces and you will always find at least 1 or 2 players that will help to resolve that situation. I've said it before and I'll say it again, there's plenty of ways to shoot down an enemy jet. Multiple enemy aircraft spawns indeed do happen but it's not really intended that way. I have done my homework on this and it is definitely not 5 mins however if enemy jets are neglected from being dealt with, yes there will be multiple enemy jets in action particularly if a defence overlaps into either a new or old AO. Cas, while powerful, it really is no different to a handgun/rpg and a secondary tool. I do however believe a pilots ability to select a jet is critical and this has been raised in previous topics and discussed many times, both here and other I and A communities. https://strayagaming.com.au/topic/18491-selectable-cas-jet-spawn/ Blackfoots aren't heavy armoured by design. I ran a sim of an AO with just a fully armed blackfoot and an AI gunner. The result was needless to say even Tigs had no hope of countering as the chopper could essentially hover from behind cover and destroy large sections of the AO without blinking an eye. Again, Balance. I do understand though that its frustrating especially as the rewards for such aircraft are rare at best.

@pkisbest lol good call. On an unrelated note I see you were banned for 3 million years today ?

The Main and foremost reason this has not happened is it affects the player base. I can tell you from personal experience after running many servers that mods decrease the player base, alot. Most people are casual gamers and lots of mods or even one isn't worth their time. A very simple rule for Public Servers is: If players aren't going to use it or only a small percentage will, don't add it.
  20. Hello all, As many of you may know Arma and Battleye don't always see eye to eye. With a lot of the new windows 10 "features" a lot is being changed without many of us knowing or noticing. Something that was put in was "Full screen optimisations". For me personally this created crashes within Arma and also resulting in me being battle blocked by the server. Below I have added a possible fix if you are experiencing this. Very easy to do and might save you from having the same issue. Firstly navigate to your Arma 3 Steam Folder [Your drive eg. C:Program Files (x86)] \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Arma 3 If you run arma on multiple windows accounts you may need to click on "Change settings for all users" first. If you use windows on the 1 account then disregard this step. Then goto each of the files below and right click on them and check "Disable full-screen optimisations" and apply. arma3.exe arma_64.exe arma3battleye.exe Thats it. No guarantees are given but it helped me so I thought it might help others. Thx to BlueVayne for pointing this out webbie.

+1 This is actually something that had been discussed while framework was still in the early stages and pilots were all whitelisted so it was only really experienced pilots who had input. Anyway the consensus was that was achievable in the framework was to use the db to monitor player points and add a higher performace jet to a drop-down list over time and points accumulated. I do believe this was in effect for a time but without the drop down. I can't confirm that but I remember something along those lines being true. So with this way you could pretty much choose what jet you wanted depending on the situation and assuming you could get it back to the hangar. Not sure how the despawning would work but I think it could work.
