  1. Even if there was that many cops on its likely some are out on operations (capture points, house raids etc) and not in Sydney (probably a max of 8-10 cops in Sydney

  3. Lads,

Couple days ago iamjack made the suggestion of a dispatch type role (along with a couple others within the patrol) that would be tasked with taking verbal dispatchs from distressed civilians etc.

COs could choose to active it or not, and poke them if someone joins the channel in teamspeak to notify them that they need assistance.

In game another button could be added to the tablet for the 000 helpline that would open teamspeak for the user, additional if you fellas feel it necessary a button for police to push to say that its active.

    Cheers

They also shouldnt be able to meta game your gang for them to gain an advantage of taking you back to PD and also shouldnt have a 1 way dec with rebels inside Sydney, Cops will always have the rules favored to them.

Only reason I feel the first rule is there is because if the police and a gang are in dec both are on equal playing fields, its pretty annoying if your the cop yarning to a CIV and old mate in a gang who you deced on 4 minutes and 59 seconds ago domes you cause you can't use their gang tags. Only fix to this would be to use uniforms but this could be abused easily aswell.

Whole point of SYD city limits is that 6.5, heavy armor vests etc are illegal to give cops an advantage to controls CIVs inside city limits. Don't like it try out the capture points or banks where GD and SRT will be bringing 6.5s etc to fight you.

shooting a drones deployed by the cop / aka maliciously damaged the property of APD means you are starting a dec with cop =|
and cop can return fire to whoever shooting at drones and possible comp the drone owner the cost for redeploy a new UAV
and put criminal charges if the shooter have been capture alive.

Could save the hassle of adding a new charge and use the "Obstruction of justice" charge which is pretty general anyways. Think its only $10k ticket however so it won't cover the drone (from what I remember the price to be) & as lenny said there about a 1 in 50 chance of catching the person when its full pop. Anyways this is off topic but I liked the post and agree that some rules definitely need some tweaking. ?

  6. Ever been on GD and

"The authorities can conform that the bank of Brisbane is currently being robbed, this is considered an act of terrorism and any citizen found near the bank may meet declared lethal force."

or been dealing with a naughty civilian in Sydney who you've been chancing for 30 minutes to finally catch..

"The authorities can conform that the bank of AGL is currently being robbed, this is considered an act of terrorism and any citizen found near the bank may meet declared lethal force."

Then finally get back to general duties to control Sydney starting to re-gear up and

"The authorities can conform that the Federal Reserve is currently being robbed, this is considered an act of terrorism and any citizen found near the bank may meet declared lethal force."

First of all I do understand this is a 'combat ordinated server' and it gives rebels quote "something to do" but to explain it simply its a right pain in the ass. I do understand its good fun for some officers but like situations like last night where there was only 3 GD officers on to 10 divisional officers it feels as if this simple server mechanic is becoming more and more broken. Back when I was on the force back in 2018 it was lessor of an issue due to there being a reduced amount of major robberies (think 3-4 at the most) so each one had a separate cooldown which reduced the amount of robberies happening back to back or close to each other. I think other GD officers would agree with me in saying its actually nice to do GD and have a fat yarn to a few civies while rocking round SYD limits, instead of going into robberies where IX is just robbing the bank to bait cops instead of actually robbing the bank to rob the bank ?

I propose that all Major Robberies have the same cooldown of at least 15-30 minutes, while federal reserve takes a longer cooldown for the higher reward. This wouldn't really be the end of the world for rebels, as it could actually cause some interesting roleplay such as 'protecting other banks' from other rebel gangs to rob the one they want to. The roleplay reason for this could that due to a recent robbery bank all banks of altis have been closed to reconsider security. Would love your guys opinions on this.

Can we implement 4-hour restarts? the current fps for Altis is terrible and unplayable.

It should require about zero effort

Jokes aside got to be something in the pipeline that we can look forward too.

  9. I popped in a while back just to check up on what was happening round the place and felt pretty saddened by the numbers, although as discussed above it has been gradually dropping for a couple years.

While searching round life servers I got the feel that they aren't quite as 'polished' as Straya with menus being slow and looking bundy as shit ahah. However this is well and truely besides the discussion I'd love to take a minute to thank the developers for the hard work for making the mission file in the first place.

Reading over a few suggestions a few people suggested changing the map to Tanona, I'd personally love a change of scenery and I'm sure a few other members would too. Another suggestion is for CIV jobs, I'd personally love to fuel delivery missions and mechanics / bounty hunters (as suggested above)

    Cheers you lot,

Problem is people need ID to confirm it's not some terrorist walking into PD ? I mean if you wanna do that when I'm on maybe we could have at least 1 person awarded it ?

  11. Just gonna chuck my personal opinion in even though its not really relevant to the topic.

I personally hopped on Anzus a while ago, for an hour or so, checking everything out, yes they do have some good ideas but everything is clunky and not well made, full FPS drops when you enter the ATM stuff like that. Props to @Connor. for the well made mission file and assets within it because it definitely shows how much efforts been put in. If it is true that he's stolen mission files then that should be plain embarrassment to himself, you profiting off other peoples work which you didn't have the decency to pay for in the first place.

I honestly hope I don't see you on Straya Frank and personally think you should think about yourself, change a bit because the person you were before, or still are now is one that shouldn't be associated to arma 3 RP.

  12. While driving back through Sydney to deliver to the port, I felt a touch of nostalgia and in turn felt it was necessary to make this post.  Not everyone is going to agree with this post and that's just how the world works. While my time on the server has been limited (almost 6 months) I feel that most of the memories I have made were in Sydney, lining up on the wall when you were a pub-slot, the cancerous but quality RP SYD bridge, and all the people I met. I understand why head-administration did it, it must have caused complete and utter chaos in help desk and everyone needed a change, I just don't think I was ready for such a large change. I have been playing the new update for a while and although its nice to have a fresh new location to patrol and and new sights to see I still miss the old locations just as much.  The same RP has staled out in Brisbane & Melbourne, compared to Sydney where you knew everyone would be. As I also come on during the mornings (NZST) I see alot of pub-cops and myself patrolling together, and since there isn't a city limits buffer its straight into gun welding rebels who are far better combat ready compared to fresh, green pub-cops (although some are very good a tazer rifle is completely useless compared to a 6.5 etc).

I feel Sydney is completely useless now, I haven't seen many people there at all and one of the main reasons you would go there is because of deliveries. I feel this is a complete waste of quite a useful part of the map. By moving people around the map its caused the server to lose 1/4 of it again. Although I did feel the 'rebel' narrative was an amazing idea and executed very well with broken buildings, graffiti in Sydney etc it lacked involving the players, the whole thing could have been run a whole lot differently. I feel a different city that wasn't Sydney should have been chosen aswell, it seems weird to leave the largest city on the map completely useless.

I do understand that higher-ups want opinions on the new map, and suggestions to keep it fresh. I just felt this post was necessary to get it off my mind and my opinion to be known, its up to you how you take it. Thank you

  13. Hey Guys

This is my guide for you people who do not have ready access to a proper microphone. A lot's not as good as a proper microphone it can still do the job really well.

    Positives
The plus side of it is that it makes roleplay and general gameplay a hell of a lot easier than.
    ZERO cost whatsoever
    Very short lag
Available to both IOS (Android) and OS (Apple)

    Negatives
The negative side is that you need to either pick up your phone to talk or have it close to your mouth all of the time.

    Guide to getting it working
Click this to go the companies website. It has a more in-depth guide on the website if you have any trouble either consult that or myself. Sometimes it can be a little temperamental so give it a few tries.

I can see where you're trying to go but it's a bit hard to roleplay when no-one else does. I think the saying that most apllies to Straya would be - When in rome do as the romans do.

Basically there is little to no roleplay because many of the server mechanics are centred around gaining money and getting frags.

Not really. You have to make a little money to survive but it's not like its critical for anything unless you wanna play the rebel side. You can still have a bluty great yarn to people at Sydney market, I have met plenty of friendly people there

  16. Hey guys!

About a week ago I thought about doing one of my old ideas, doing guides. PUB-SLOT medics/ cops get a lot of stick for well being there, some of them do deserve it. But considering quite a lot of PUB-SLOTS are just there to help and learn I thought doing this guide would be a good idea. Hopefully, this guide will help all those players who want to join the PUB-SLOT slots be better and in turn, gain a better name for the slots.

    Remember to be in Teamspeak!

    All announcements that pub-slots will need to know will be added below;

    Combat Zones

Combat Zones are a medics worse enemy when responding to a downed person. Respect your life like it matters, even though its just a game if you see a gun get out a there. The absolute worst thing to happen is that a medic gets caught in the crossfire and more medics have to respond to you. If there is police on the scene when you arrive ask them if they have the scene under control if they don't leave them for a minute and come back.

    REMEMBER!

You are only allowed to go in two minutes after you have heard the last gunshot if you are not certain or have arrived late ask a medic near the scene if it is still hostile before going in! If there is still guns shots at the scene retreat to no less than 200 meters from the scene. If there is a hill nearby try to drive up it to get a vantage point to overlook the scene fully. If a player or police request that that player should not be revived, retreat to 200 meters and overlook the scene till they leave, then go in to revive.

    Added in a new rule:

    5b64060333a9a_forumrule.png.36aac2508a634005d16314502f6f6627.png

If a player is revived and continues with the active scene notify them of this rule, if they continue to warn them again. If the persist take it to help desk.

    The area you're allowed in

PUB-SLOTS are only allowed to drive and respond to downed players within Sydney Limits, the only exception to this is when you gain permission from an ICP+ (Intensive Care Paramedic) or you are the only medic online at the time. Sydney Limits in the big purple line around the city of Sydney. Most accidents happen within these limits so usually, you won't be short of action. If you are the only medic online and the following occur

    • Robbing of a bank
    • Airdrop event
    • Drug shipment event
    • KOS Island death

You may not respond unless the bank has been cleared by the cops and it is now declared safe by a high ranking officer. For both the events, you may not respond until the event has self-destructed (airdrop) or the drug shipment has left. You may not under any circumstances respond to a downed player on KOS island as crossfire here is HIGHLY likely.

If a player dies within a rebel area

    1. All areas with a red dot (weed fields etc)
    2. Rebal Outposts
    3. Cartel Hideouts

You may respond one you have cleared the area, it is not a combat zone and you feel it is safe to do so.

You may respond to an incident within PD (Police Department - Blue gridded area on your map)

    • If you have asked permission from the highest ranking police officer on the scene.

    Ranks of command

While playing as a medic you should always respect those who are higher ranked than you. They have the experience and often expertise to help, if you are controlled don't fret to ask them! The rank structure follows these colors, colors are displayed in uniforms blue - green red

    Pub-Slot Paramedic

    • Not trained

    Junior Paramedic

    • Trained and tested
    • Paramedic
    • Added to rank from Pub-Slot paramedic

    Paramedic

    • First EMS rank
    • First Whitelist rank
    • Must be promoted to this rank from Junior Paramedic

    Senior Paramedic

    • Second EMS rank
    • Must be promoted to this rank from Paramedic

    Intensive Care Paramedic

    • May be found in a pink suit
    • Must be promoted to this rank from Assistant Command Officer

    Vehicles

The only vehicle a PUB-SLOT can use is the off-roader, a sturdy vehicle that does what the name implies very well. Refer to "Hotkeys" below to see the common hotkeys used with this vehicle. Refer to "Areas you are allowed in" before using this vehicle. Try and park it as best you can, don't be the one to cause another accident. If you are driving to Sydney hospital use the designated parks out front or take the vehicle behind the hospital, it looks shit if you park your vehicle halfway up the bushes.

Here are some examples of how the vehicle should be used.

    Car Crash/ Vehicle Accident

If you respond to a car crash use your vehicle as best you can to warn other motorists that there is an accident ahead, you can also use it as a barrier to protect yourself if another accident occurs. Use the beacons but try turn off the sirens as they are incredibly loud.

    Shotting/ Robbery

Make sure there is no combat zone still occurring and approach with caution, use sirens if necessary to warn the robbers you are EMS, not the police. Be very wary and back off if guns are drawn or shots are fired.

    Speed Limits

    The speed limits are

    1. 60km/h Inside city limits of Sydney
    2. 30km/h Inside Sydney Market/ Outside Sydney Hosptial

The only time a medic may drive faster than the assigned speed limit of 60km/h  is in the case of an emergency that you are responding to.

    • In which emergency lights and sirens must be used.

    Hotkeys

    U

    • Locks your vehicle, remember to lock your vehicle every time you get in and out to avoid it being stolen.

    Shift+F

    • Turns on your sirens

    LeftCtrl+F

    • Yelps your sirens

    Shift+L

    • Turns on your becons

    O

    Windows Key
