When @Flavi manages to destroy a jet without even taking off... EDIT: To be fair, this is a bug and not @Flavi's fault, but his recent run with crashing aircraft came to mind when I made this
  2. Travesty

2 cents paypal, so about a weeks worth of Youtube revenue then?
  3. Travesty

And what penance will you offer to @MATT Eggbert in return for your plagiarism?!
  4. Travesty

I'm not that good of a PUBG player, but I'm interested in a match of SG players.
  5. Travesty

I'm going to speak in my current role as an IT Manager for an international non-profit organisation. DISCLAIMER: I do not know figures or the operating model of StrayaGaming, I'm just offering some context to how an entity like StrayaGaming could operate. @LuckyB33f has detailed some of the operating costs above, but it's important to realise that it is not guaranteed that every month the donations will exceed the operating expenses. You may get more donations over holiday periods, but there will be periods when you need some extra funds stored just in case this occurs. This allow you to manage the peaks and troughs of both your donations and operating costs (Some costs are monthly, some yearly, some once-off). From what I've seen this past year, an excess of donations and support increases the giveaways and server investment within StrayaGaming. Again, I don't know the numbers, but this has been my observation. I'd caution anyone getting working up about 'Where is my money going?' to remember that there is a management groups within StrayaGaming (Quite an organised structure for a gaming group in my opinion) and a donation is contributing money to further the group's activities. Put your trust in the management of StrayaGaming to reinvest and spend your donation wisely, raise your concerns to management in a constructive manner, or consider donating elsewhere if you're not satisfied with the answers they provide. TL;DR - Rumours of @LuckyB33f having a golden cowbell are patently false. The golden ballgag, however...

This is why I buy the DLC packs, because no one can compete with SNAFU and SinerBuzz!
  10. Travesty

Get on it folks, the DLC bundle is a 25% discount right now so the value of the prizes is more than the cost of Premium Membership!

Let he who is without a crashed Ghost Hawk be the first to cast a stone @BridTheAtl...

It would clean up the kill feed a bit, which is not a bad thing. I also like that it doesn't show a bunch of teamkills when a Pilot gets shot down with troops onboard.

Well done to On3nut and Gizmo for their efforts, no one can fault them for trying to make the server successful. It's always a good idea to try new games and servers, with the inherent risk that it may or may not be successful. Like Yuri said if the demand is there later maybe the server will reappear. Do not be discouraged, the diversity of StrayaGaming is one of its strengths and your efforts contribute to that.

That's the Maori version you're thinking of. Tah-No-Ah, that's the Aussie pronunciation. Or, to be specific "Tah-No-Ah, May-Te".

I thought so too, which would leave me to believe that only Non-Pilot roles could be streamed to avoid that issue. Plus, you'd have to avoid being in a group if you didn't have permission of all group members. So, it's a 'Rambo' stream then.
  16. Travesty

I have a question regarding the TeamSpeak rules, in particular: "Recording is prohibited." Does this extend to streaming (E.g. Twitch)? I was thinking of streaming some Invade & Annex, but if I play as a Pilot (My preferred role) I have to be on TeamSpeak in this role. Would I be able to stream from the Pilots channel if I put [STREAMING] in my ST name, or with prior approval? Please advise, and may I humbly suggest someone review the rules to update them for streaming if needed to avoid this being asked again.

I can see where you are coming from @Humaine. After the Midnight reboot, I find the player number sharply drops off and you do get the more dedicated players on. I also find the afternoon and evenings is when the 'Rambo' players tend to play more, so maybe that's influencing my preference.

I'd volunteer to stream some I&A, God knows I talk enough to commentate! My new rig and NBN should be sufficient to show off a decent quality stream. EDIT: The SGAU Twitch channel could host SG players playing on the server to make this easier to manage. "SGAU is hosting Travesty on Arma" Etc.

God help me, I'm back on Facebook so in the winning...

The Ghost Hawk skin you did looks good, but I REALLY like the Huron skin. Damn fine work sir.

Congrats to the boring dedicated competition winners!

I'd like to congratulate all of the staff and members at StrayaGaming on the success of this community, and for reaching 6000 members only 10 months after being half that amount. That's amazing growth! I, and many other community members I'm sure, would not be here without the effort and dedication that the StrayaGaming staff put into the game servers and the community itself. I personally have seen more than one gaming community fall apart and stagnate because of apathy within the community, and StrayaGaming is the polar opposite of that situation. Community members are engaged, staff are friendly, fair and welcoming, and the game servers/forums/Teamspeak are all well-structured and thought out in their management. Otherwise the community would have experienced numerous issues due to this rapid growth. Everyone who has contributed to StrayaGaming should be proud of what it has become. Congratulations, ya magnificent bastards!

Um, @=S.N.A.F.U.= and @helidave don't count. They're both old and retired so have WAY more time than the rest of us to fly transport! In all seriousness, I'm not surprised in the pilot count. These three pilots are dedicated players. As for Hamish owning the revives, must be all those Side missions
  24. Dammit, missed out this time...
