If they do it again, report them and their ban is longer than their last one. They don't become immune after receiving their first ban.

Server would need a few changes but if they removed name tags it would just be a simple case of shooting on sight anyone with a gun or posing a hostile threat while in an active combat situation. If it's someone not part of the dec then it would fall under crossfire. Some servers have a button where you can declare on someone if you're aiming at them removing the need of looking at their names for a text message.
  3. Wex

Checking your car rego on the radar isn't metagaming. It's only metagaming if they use the name above your head. But I do think cops shouldn't check your name on the wanted list unless you've committed a crime. Don't bring arguments about realism into altis life. Text decs are necessary because voice decs aren't always reliable, especially without tfr. Removing text decs would mean helicopters will make you immune from combat and runs are safer. The only servers I see where the names are removed and text decs aren't a thing are servers where helicopters are hard to come by and the maps are smaller such as malden and lakeside where it's easier to get into a position for voice Dec plus lights and sirens were considered a Dec.

It was an announcement by Bethesda during E3 so it's not fake but it'll probably take a few years to complete.

Wouldn't hurt to have a pop up modded I&A server like the modded wasteland server we had a while ago. Maybe open it up once a month or something, you'll definitely get some players on if you have enough advertising before so people can download the mods and be ready to play when it's up.

So you're saying in all your time playing you've never done a failed dec such as "Hands up or die?" or something similar.
  7. Wex

Yes because Retired Wasteland Staff must know the rules well enough of an Altis Life server. Also if you came up to me and gave me a direction while pointing a gun at me, I would kill you. The rules are ****ed as it is that 90% of declarations would be considered failed decs and you never know if they're joking or not.

When you say knock out does this extend to tasers and knockdowns for police? A concern I have for this rule change is that the knocking out feature can be used in roleplay without starting a formal declaration. An example would be if one player insults the other, they might retaliate with a knockout to "teach them a lesson". I agree with the rule change if it's used to take someone hostage or to rob someone, but surely there could be something in place to prevent being reported for using it in roleplay.

From what I've read, the cost to build the nuclear plant is way to high and it's not going to be profitable due to the lower demand of electricity due to better efficiency, more regulations, and decline of heavy manufacturing in Australia. Source: https://www.smh.com.au/national/nsw/nuclear-energy-is-still-a-stupid-idea-for-australia-20170316-guzb68.html A bit off topic, but I've visited Lucas Heights for a school excursion and it was really interesting what they could do with a nuclear reactor for scientific and medical applications rather than being an energy source.

I think the judicial government has slowly faded away because cops refuse to participate in them due to ridiculous demands. I know when I was Commissioner I had enough of them and ignored pretty much every single case after a certain point. When they're demanding for 2 million to settle for something as simple as missing a step in the processing, it becomes demotivating for cops to be involved in the judicial government apart from getting warrants. People used to do it for the roleplay, and when I was Commissioner. People did it for the money.

Funny because everytime I warn someone about it, they either leave or if they ignore my directions I restrain them and let them go after a while. Most of the times they end up leaving because I let them know the consequences if they stay. If you show respect to civs, they'll end up showing equal respect. The number of positive experiences I've had processing a civ is a lot more than my negative experiences, and that's because I don't want to actively find ways to get them in trouble for their crimes. If they give a fake ID or come up with a fake backstory, I'll play along. I played cop for an hour a few days ago. Spent my time around Sydney, haven't been shot at once. You'd be surprised how many civs are there to chill and have fun instead of intentionally trying to **** with cops. There's a lot of things cops can do to prevent being in a lot of these situations. Why do you feel the need to check the wanted list and memorise every name and pull over everyone who comes up wanted? With the automatic bounty system, most of the people who drive will end up being wanted. I don't even check the wanted list until I get their ID and I find more enjoyment that way. As with the content for civ, I've come up with multiple different solutions on how to reduce gun crime in Sydney and have more content for civ. Most of which have been denied. Partly because they can't really do any more developments on the server.

Not complaining about cops who kill people in crossfire due to bad aim while going for their intended target. I'm complaining about the cops shooting people for minimal association or for simply being in the area without posing a threat. Also I'm not supporting any posts, if anything I'm neutral between cops and civs. Just a while ago someone made a post about cops being shit at roleplay and I was defending the cop in that situation. Crossfire should only apply when you kill someone while shooting at your intended target or if they have a gun out in an active combat situation. It shouldn't be used an excuse to shoot anyone who runs around in a gunfight. How do you know civs go around in the City to bait cops? Or is this just pure speculation. If you do have evidence of people doing that, there's this rule. Also this goes back to my advice to cops of using their words before their guns. Tell people to leave and the consequence if they don't. If you start shooting first, they're going to be dickheads about it. Probably the worst example you have given. The cops on top of office building had a vantage point. They had more than enough time to load in knockdowns or to back off and avoid being shot at. If you look at the videos they weren't even aiming the guy with the gun, they just killed everyone down there without even aiming at their intended target.

You do realise people play on the server to have fun, not to simulate real life. Unless you've got something better to do, civs will always follow the sound of gunfire because they've got nothing better to do. If you don't want civs to be there, use your words. Tell them to leave and let them know the consequence if they stay around. Tasing and restraining them without any verbal warning is going to piss them off and they're going to start abusing you for it. The only people you should shoot at without a verbal warning are those with their guns out or the ones picking up weapons off the floor.

I never said anything about using names off the registration of the vehicles. I was talking about people who walk around the street unless you're saying cops have automatic facial recognition installed in their eyes? I never said anything about people with guns in a combat sit getting killed, because that's completely fine. I was talking about those with minimal association and without a gun getting killed/shot at for being in the area.

Civs at rebel bases get run over, vdmed, restrained all the time and they can't do anything about it. If a civ does something like that to cops, they can do something about it because they don't have safezone restrictions. When I was a trial mod, I received a message about people ****ing around in Cartel. I spent half an hour there just to control the situation and people still ignored me while I was a mod suit. I had to ban a whole gang that night because they wouldn't stop being trolls. If people were trolling in PD, you could easily send them to jail instead of getting a staff member to deal with them. In Sydney, Civs are victims of RDM and VDM more than cops mainly due to the number of civs there are. I've sat on Sydney Bridge with a few others and have been a victim and witnessed multiple RDMs/VDMs within an hour and it was all civ on civ, no cops involved. I'm not saying this happens all the time, but you do get shot at cops for being in an area, even if you're unarmed and haven't done anything wrong or suspicious. As a civ you are up against trolls and trigger happy cops who can't roleplay properly. As a cop you are only up against trolls. It's not bullshit when I say civs have it harder. When I started on this server, I only played cop and rarely hopped on civ. Towards the end of my time as Commissioner, I played civ for a couple weeks and experienced first hand the countless complaints I've received about the state of cops. Questioning someone because of the name above their head and the gang they're associated to is metagame. You don't know any of that information in character and most of the time people do it just to arrest them.
  16. Wex

Just play as a civ in sydney and you'll find that you get killed for association or being in the area, even if you're unarmed. That's not crossfire, that's just being trigger happy. If promotions were based on time instead of merit, you'd have more people ranked Sergeant and above being unqualified for their position. You were probably stuck at Senior Constable for a reason.
  17. Wex

And it's stressful as a civ RPing when you have 10 cops that can kill you and claim crossfire as well as the other 7 civs with masks running around with a gun hidden somewhere. Civs have it harder than cops, don't make excuses.
  18. Wex

Crossfire should only be a valid excuse when you shoot someone while attempting to shoot the intended target and that may be due to poor aim or recoil. It shouldn't be used an excuse when you shoot at someone thinking they're the target. You wouldn't have problems with crossfire if cops used knockdowns like they should be doing.
  19. Wex

Saying you don't have a license isn't a way to "roleplay" out of being arrested. If anything, it just makes your processing a lot longer if the cops know what they're doing. If that was me I would have wasted your time by calling a medic to do a blood test or try find other finds to get your name.
  20. Wex

If he was being harassed that's a separate issue. There's no justification to gunning down unarmed civilians.

Any plans on getting monetization back?

Police Protocols are going to be similar across all Life Servers. Not even the protocols I wrote down and the ideas I've brought in as a Commissioner are original. There's a difference between copying and taking inspiration from. An example, Leave of Absence was inspired from something the Police in roleplay.co.uk had. You can read their protocols here: Police Holiday. It has the same concept but it's not completely identical. From a brief look, the only similarities I see between the two protocols are the formatting. If it was an identical copy I would understand the blacklist. I'm sure if you spoke to Jack Fire he would be willing to remove anything that has been directly copied or stolen off the current protocols/documents.
  23. Wex

If that's the case then I have no problems with the bans you've placed.
  24. Wex

The only reason that I have been told of is that they were blacklisted for "stealing" documents and "copying" protocols. It becomes an issue when people are blacklisted without being spoken to (some even received blacklists when they're not involved) and these actions and many other actions have pushed players away from the server and this community. As for the poaching/stealing officers, I can't speak for everyone but a majority of them have left on their own accord without being pressured or offered any positions. The positions were only offered after they have joined the community. What may be an issue is that players have allegedly been given ultimatums about choosing what community to play on, some even receiving threats of a blacklist or bans. Although there's no evidence and all this might be false claims, but this is still something that you should be investigating.
