I think a discussion needs to be had about what exactly the priority of the medics is, more than once I have had irritating people spamming comms asking me to medic them when they are 400 meters away in an open field surrounded by enemies and getting angry or abusive when told I am not going to charge up to them. There is a reason in all first aid course you take that the first rule of first aid is always to assess the danger to the first aider. There should be a rule against pressuring medics, they will get to you when they can, you have a 10 minute count down for a reason be patient, clear and secure the area before reviving. I love playing medic it's my primary go to role, but I find myself forgoing this role when the player count is higher for this reason. Possible suggestions to minimize friction between medics and other players. 1. Reduce the distance casualties can see the medic nearby distance. Still allow medics to see casualties up to 500 meters, but maybe reduce the distance for casualties down to 100 meters if possible. 2. Allow casualties to slowly crawl so they can atleast move themselves to nearby cover to assist medics in not getting killed while reviving and give the player something to do while they wait for a revive.

Hey guys! About a week ago I thought about doing one of my old ideas, doing guides. PUB-SLOT medics/ cops get a lot of stick for well being there, some of them do deserve it. But considering quite a lot of PUB-SLOTS are just there to help and learn I thought doing this guide would be a good idea. Hopefully, this guide will help all those players who want to join the PUB-SLOT slots be better and in turn, gain a better name for the slots. Remember to be in Teamspeak! ts.straya.life Join paramedic lobby to be dragged Thanks to @Hope, and @iamjack All announcements that pub-slots will need to know will be added below; Combat Zones Combat Zones are a medics worse enemy when responding to a downed person. Respect your life like it matters, even though its just a game if you see a gun get out a there. The absolute worst thing to happen is that a medic gets caught in the crossfire and more medics have to respond to you. If there is police on the scene when you arrive ask them if they have the scene under control if they don't leave them for a minute and come back. REMEMBER! You are only allowed to go in two minutes after you have heard the last gunshot if you are not certain or have arrived late ask a medic near the scene if it is still hostile before going in! If there is still guns shots at the scene retreat to no less than 200 meters from the scene. If there is a hill nearby try to drive up it to get a vantage point to overlook the scene fully. If a player or police request that that player should not be revived, retreat to 200 meters and overlook the scene till they leave, then go in to revive. Added in a new rule: If a player is revived and continues with the active scene notify them of this rule, if they continue to warn them again. If the persist take it to help desk. Items you need 2x Defibrillator To revive an unconscious person by pressing window key while looking at the body of the victim One to be stored in your vehicle in case you die to crossfire and one is stolen from your bag. 10x Lollipops Used as EMS food Brings food from 0 back to 100. To consume press Y, click on the item, then press 'consume' 10x Water Bottles Used as drink Brings water from 0 back to 100. To consume press Y, click on the item, then press 'consume' 5x Toolkit Try and have quite a few of these as car crashes are common within altis. Store in your vehicle, press T, then click the item, then press the 'take' button. Press windows key on the vehicle, then repair 1x Full fuel canister For the odd time, someone runs out of fuel Store in vehicle 3x Panadol Give people with headaches Refer to higher-ups if other medication if required Heals 25 HP (Use it after first aid kit, as panadol heals 25 HP: 75+25 = 100) Press Y key and select the person you would like to use/give it to. Panadol can also be used on yourself Do not give painkiller just because someone asks for it. And only 1 painkiller can be given to 1 player every roleplay situation. 10x First Aid Kits Heal a player up to 75 HP Heals 75 HP (Use it before panadol, as the first aid kit heals 75 HP: 75+25 = 100) Use your scroll wheel on your mouse to bring up the option 1x Night vision Good for night operations (duh) 1x Map Press M to access 1x GPS EMS Uniform If the uniform shows up as "ranger" press I and drag it out and back in to fix this graphical issue OPTIONAL ITEMS 1x Cap The area you're allowed in PUB-SLOTS are only allowed to drive and respond to downed players within Sydney Limits, the only exception to this is when you gain permission from an ICP+ (Intensive Care Paramedic) or you are the only medic online at the time. Sydney Limits in the big purple line around the city of Sydney. Most accidents happen within these limits so usually, you won't be short of action. If you are the only medic online and the following occur Robbing of a bank Airdrop event Drug shipment event KOS Island death You may not respond unless the bank has been cleared by the cops and it is now declared safe by a high ranking officer. For both the events, you may not respond until the event has self-destructed (airdrop) or the drug shipment has left. You may not under any circumstances respond to a downed player on KOS island as crossfire here is HIGHLY likely. If a player dies within a rebel area All areas with a red dot (weed fields etc) Rebal Outposts Cartel Hideouts You may respond one you have cleared the area, it is not a combat zone and you feel it is safe to do so. You may respond to an incident within PD (Police Department - Blue gridded area on your map) If you have asked permission from the highest ranking police officer on the scene. Ranks of command While playing as a medic you should always respect those who are higher ranked than you. They have the experience and often expertise to help, if you are controlled don't fret to ask them! The rank structure follows these colors, colors are displayed in uniforms blue - green - red Pub-Slot Paramedic Not trained Junior Paramedic Trained and tested Paramedic Added to rank from Pub-Slot paramedic Paramedic First EMS rank First Whitelist rank Must be promoted to this rank from Junior Paramedic Senior Paramedic Second EMS rank Must be promoted to this rank from Paramedic Intensive Care Paramedic Third EMS rank Must be promoted to this rank from Senior Paramedic Special Response Paramedic Forth EMS rank Must be promoted to this rank from Intensive Care Paramedic Duty Control Officer Fifth EMS rank May be found in a pink suit Must be promoted to this rank from Special Response Paramedic Assistant Command Officer Sixth EMS rank May be found in a pink suit Must be promoted to this rank from Duty Control Officer Chief Executive Officer Highest ranking EMS May be found in a pink suit Must be promoted to this rank from Assistant Command Officer Vehicles The only vehicle a PUB-SLOT can use is the off-roader, a sturdy vehicle that does what the name implies very well. Refer to "Hotkeys" below to see the common hotkeys used with this vehicle. Refer to "Areas you are allowed in" before using this vehicle. Try and park it as best you can, don't be the one to cause another accident. If you are driving to Sydney hospital use the designated parks out front or take the vehicle behind the hospital, it looks shit if you park your vehicle halfway up the bushes. Here are some examples of how the vehicle should be used. Car Crash/ Vehicle Accident If you respond to a car crash use your vehicle as best you can to warn other motorists that there is an accident ahead, you can also use it as a barrier to protect yourself if another accident occurs. Use the beacons but try turn off the sirens as they are incredibly loud. Shotting/ Robbery Make sure there is no combat zone still occurring and approach with caution, use sirens if necessary to warn the robbers you are EMS, not the police. Be very wary and back off if guns are drawn or shots are fired. Speed Limits The speed limits are 60km/h Inside city limits of Sydney 30km/h Inside Sydney Market/ Outside Sydney Hosptial The only time a medic may drive faster than the assigned speed limit of 60km/h is in the case of an emergency that you are responding to. In which emergency lights and sirens must be used. Hotkeys U Locks your vehicle, remember to lock your vehicle every time you get in and out to avoid it being stolen. Shift+F Turns on your sirens LeftCtrl+F Yelps your sirens Shift+L Turns on your becons O Opens the boom gate at the back of the hospital Windows Key When reviving a player When repairing/ flipping a car Sitting on objects Scroll wheel Lets you turn on your beckons Useful Links APS Rules and Regulations EMS Discord EMS Database Let me know if I have missed anything, will be adding to this guide as time goes on Last update 3/08/2018
