    Not sure how this works for an event, however maybe it could be a week long event. idk just trying to help spark ideas :)

    Not too sure how we could implement something like this territory capture system onto the server :S 
    But based from this idea we could have some kind of event that involves capturing and holding towns for x time, or make a form of "king of the hill" event where teams/ groups must stay within a radius for x time to receive a reward. 

    Perhaps we can utilize the oil rigs for a capture and defend base type of event? 


  3. This topic is subject for review in the coming week.

    Its a bit of a grey area as many people have different opinions on how large the group size should be. A few members even noted that indies shouldn't be allowed to group up; "as independents their roles isn't to attack large groups of enemies or work together, you want to team up, join blufor or opfor. The vet players should try vs each other or teaming up with those of us that  arent as frequent in playing as them"

    We have had reports from players that the vehicle storage system is bugged, resulting in vehicles that they stored randomly disappearing from the 'pull out' (;)) menu. 

    Unfortunately this is an issue that we cannot fix on our end, and due to the nature of the system, we cannot accept compensation requests related to this issue. 

     

    So summing up;

    Utilize vehicle storage at your own risk.

  5. A few months ago a dream of starting anew was created. This idea was shared by both members of the community and by the staff team alike; and now finally, thanks to the dedication and hard work of my crew, we are almost ready to unveil our "starting product." For those that haven't been informed in game or somehow missed interpreted the title of this topic, we are incredibly close to activating our 1.3b version of wasteland onto the main server. 

     

    So who wants little FAQ? 

    Q: So whats changed?

    A: Stuff...

     

    Q: Can you be a bit more elaborate? 

    A: Well, as it currently stands, our version of wasteland is 1.2b, and considering 1.2b has been around for ageesssss, it pretty much means the major part of our mission file was riddled with outdated code and features. [Less so in recent months thanks to various updates]

     

    Q: What does 1.3b bring?

    A: A3wasteland 1.3b is a template designed by Agent revs team that we have 'suited' for the strayagaming community. For further information about what the template brings please visit their website or when we roll the new update, check the diary entry "updates" for a list of changes made via his team. 

     

    Q: Any changes to the map?

    A: We have brought over most map features to our 1.3b version, however, you should now find two new markers, yellow and purple. Yellow representing player storage, and purple representing vehicle storage.   

     

    Q: Is there any effects that playerbase will feel that might be considered negative? 

    A: Unfortunately yes, while 1.3b brings optimizations and new features such as storage and vehicle locking, from what we can see, there will be one major down side for everyone, and that is the current database isn't coming with the update. :(  To put it simply, consider the update a 'clean slate', starting anew, the beginning! (bans still hold.)

     

    Q: Why isnt the database being utilized for this update?

    A: There's a new database in town!

     

    Q: So will the server now have 64 exe capacity? 

    A: Yes, the database has been setup for x64 capacity! Rejoice! 

     

    Q: Can we use sounds mods with this update?

    A: Currently, the only sound mod compatible with our server is dynosound 2.0. If you wish to utilize this sound mod, please download this & this from the steam workshop and select them when you start up arma.

     

    Q: Can you give us an ETA on when the update will drop?

    A: As it stands, the updates is as close as Wednesday the 19th of April; however as we finalize the update the date could be set back by a few days.

     

    Summing up

    • new stuff (parking system, storage, locking etc...)
    • better FPS (hopefully ;P) 
    • dynosound capability

    Sound mod

    • We are trialing the use of dynasound 2.0 mod on wasteland. 
    • You are not required to have the mod in-order to play on the server
    • To get the mod working you will need to install both this & this and have them both selected.

    • Spawn beacon Prices have been dramatically reduced.
    • Spawn beacons will no longer persist over restarts.

    Please note that this will be the final 'official' update for our current version of wasteland (1.2b).
    Development will now be focused on setting up version 1.3b for use.


    Our server has been struggling with donations lately, please consider donating to keep the server up so you can continue enjoying and/or hating playing on our server ^.^

    Map overhaul

    • Major renovations have occurred across the map to produce new key areas, promote tactical gameplay, adjust spawn locations and to provide protection from air superiority
    • Feel free to let us know how these changes affect your FPS. (Bad fps? consider changing your view distance to near for close combat engagements.)

    Helicopter damage models

    • We are trialling a modification to Helicopter Damage Models but will continue to monitor its effects on server health carefully.

    Server Event: Jet mission

    • Updated Sever Jet Mission Method of delivery and Reward location marker accuracy (Now spawns a crate when the jet is destroyed which parachutes down containing gear/money [100k+])

    Gunstore markers

    • Due to popular request, we have decided to trial the removal of the presence markers at gunstores to see how it changes gameplay tactics. Should the results of this trial be positive, we will port this feature over to our 1.3b version when released.
