You definitely can give your opinion on topics, so long as it complies with our community guidelines.

Without a doubt, the majority of our players are atleast content with the current staff team. It looks like they aren't because of a few voices, these few voices are exceptionally loud which creates the illusion that "half the community hate X staff member". This has come up countless times, whenever someone gets a position that a few dissagree with. I have long learnt to completely ignore their opinions unless I am met with evidence to support the claims. Every single time we 'lose half our community' our player count (On average) does not drop, this is because it's only a very small portion of players that leave. In most cases these are players that ruin the integrity of the game and are a blight on our community. So really... I don't mind it happening. I am happy with most of the senior staff team, there are only a few that need to improve their work and i'd rather work with them on that instead of removing them.

There isn't any way to moderate what you are complaining about, and there is no reason for me to do so. People tend to make light of these bad situations, it is a way of coping with their own personal situations. SG is definitely a coping mechanism for a lot of people, they will react and speak based on their personal life. If you are offended tell them, if you don't think you can be around them because of how they speak or their attitude then don't talk to them. There are plenty of tools available for you to block and ignore communication with other members you don't agree with, or you find offensive. You also need to remember that random people on the internet don't have their masters in psychology, they might not know how to respond or react to those sorts of conversations. They might react in a really offensive way because that is the social norm for them. we have really large variety of people here, don't expect them to all have lived their life in the same way as you.
  4. If rebels can go 24 hours without breaking a rule, sure.

Is this a joke? I think the moderators are more often than not, a bit too harsh. I looked at your history, you haven't really done anything that bad. Certainly nothing that would warrant more than a 3 day ban. You can rest easy though, I've added a note to your profile indicating that you are to be banned for at minimum 6 months for any future issues.

Contractors aren't rebel gangs, so no.

Why are they not fun currently?

Hm fair enough, I still don't really care. We are changing how this work with the wipe.

3.15 LMGs and any weapon larger than 7.62 may not be used on General Duties unless given permission by a member of Cabinet. Sure sounds like a restriction to me.

You make it sounds as though any officer can buy and use them in any situation, which you know very well isn't the case. This frustrates me to no end! The police have to spend their time and effort working towards being able to use them, even then, they have restrictions on when they can use them. The Rebels instead need to spend the time and effort to craft the weapon, once they have it they can use it whenever they want. That's the trade-off.
  11. Hi All, There are quite a few projects that our staff have been working on behind the scenes, some are nearing completion, some have just barely started. In this news type post, I'll be going through some of these projects as well as a few updates to existing services. AltisLife First up in AltisLife, without a doubt our largest and most successful game server. We know there are many areas and problems that need to be addressed in Altis Life and we definitely are working on them. The AltisLife staff team are taking their time to ensure that we get as much of it correct as we can the first time around. A few key points that I want to mention: There have been rumours spread around of a wipe happening on the server, I can confirm that this definitely is the case. The Altis Life team is working on some major changes that hopefully will dramatically improve the gameplay for all factions, once complete and ready to be released this major update will occur with an economy wipe. We will give the players atleast a weeks notice before the wipe. It's not happening now so don't waste your money! Players with a ban of less than 2 months will be able to submit an appeal for clemency shortly before the major release date, I'll put another post up about that when it's time. We will be introducing a narrative that will, over time, allow us to alter the map and other features. This is to try and encourage roleplay and to keep players and the meta moving around, instead of sitting stagnant as it currently is. This is not a strict narrative, and it is up to players to decide whether they want to use it in-game or not. I have requested the AltisLife staff team to create some different narratives for me, I'll be reviewing them with James and Lotza. Together we will decide on one and reveal it prior to the major release. Currently the Altis Life rules have some ambiguous meanings and staff as well as players can often have a hard time interpreting them. I am looking at creating a sort of dictionary to explain what some of the buzz words mean, this should help players understand what 'RDM', or 'Roleplay' actually means within context on our server. When it comes to punishment I and a lot of the management team see that sometimes a ban just isn't effective enough for some players, they will just come back doing the same or similar offence. Because of this AL staff team will be revisiting the punishment system and looking over how it can be changed to better encourage players to follow the rules. One critical point I can mention is a monetary/item fine for certain situations, either in lieu of a ban, or complementary with one. We have worked on a landing page for AltisLife that will be release prior to the major release, it will allow AltisLife players to view only AltisLife content and provide ease of access to various AltisLife related features. An image is included at the bottom of this post. Forums There are only two points here so I'll keep it short. James and I have worked on a new default theme that should be a huge improvement on the current theme, and gradually over-time we will phase out the old one. I'll include an example image below. At the same time as the new theme, we will be restructuring and altering the forum to give it a cleaner look as well as improving user experience. There will be a larger post on this on the 26th or the 27th. I have an estimated release date for these two items of the 28th GameServers Lastly we have our new Game Servers, Antistasi, Squad, Post Scriptum. Currently these are all considered pop-up servers, I encourage you all to have a try of them and provide us with any feedback you have. As is with all of our new servers, we plan to have them up as long as they have players. Antistasi: Antistasi is a persistent complete map mission, it is heavily centred around Guerrilla tactics and provides players with a unique experience fighting against foreign invaders as a group of Rebels. In our mission, players fight against AAF and CSAT for control over the island of Altis. This server is whitelisted, to get whitelisted you will need to talk with one of our staff members on teamspeak. Required Mods: CBA_A3, Task Force Radio Optional Mods: JSRS, Blastcore More information can be found on the public GitHub page. https://github.com/A3Antistasi/antistasi-1.x/tree/1.8.0 Squad: Squad is a combat realism first person shooter game that focuses on providing players as much of an authentic experience as possible, this is done through communication, team play, and a heavy emphasis on unit cohesion mechanics, large-scale coordination, tactics and planning. More information about the game can be found on their website. https://joinsquad.com/ Post Scriptum: Post Scriptum is a WW2 simulation game, focusing on historical accuracy, large scale battles, a difficult learning curve and an intense need for cohesion, communication and teamwork. More information about the game can be found on their website. http://postscriptumgame.com/ Create a new thread in the appropriate forum if you have any questions, or send a message in the discussion channel on discord.

Report them... This story I hear from both sides "I would but the staff don't do anything" is a right load of shit. When players are reported they are punished as is appropriate, each time they break a rule their punishment increases exponentially. Roleplay is hard because the majority of people think roleplay means sticking as loosley to the rules as possible to gain an advantage over an unsuspecting player. I would love nothing more to ban all of those players that don't roleplay, but then we would have no rebels, 90% less cops, a shit load less medics and maybe 10-15 civs at prak times. I'm revisiting the 'fail roleplay' rule for AL as part of my overhaul with the server meta.
  13. Thanks, i've fixed that up now.
  14. If you want to write up a narrative yourself, you are more than welcome to. Just put it in a google doc and send me a link to it.

Service Affected: Teamspeak Teamspeak is running an old and out-dated version and needs to be updated. It will be taken down between 9am and 10am AEST tomorrow for the upgrade.
  22. Hi All, We have made some minor changes to our discipline system to iron out some general wording issues around permanent bans. From Sunday the 13th all bans that have an indeterminate length will be placed by senior staff as indefinite, this allows for the banned player to have an opportunity to appeal the ban at a later date without us needing to remove bans that are listed as permanent which should remain as such. Additionally, permanent bans placed after Sunday the 13th can only be removed with the approval of the Staff Manager, Community Manager and one lead staff member (Strayagaming Lead staff members can count for any vote).
  23. Hi All, Due to some requirements with staffing on Altis Life we are introducing a Senior Moderator rank to bridge the gap between Moderator and Administrator. Currently the position of Administrator requires the staff member be partially responsible for managing and guiding the server in the direction set-out by the Management Team. This leaves staff that excel in moderation in a position where they are limited in both power and authority, this is causing a lot of internal issues with the staff team and a lot of public issues between the staff and players. To resolve these issues we will be introducing the Senior Moderator as a Senior staff member essentially equivalent to that of an Administrator, however they will only be specialising in moderation and community interaction, and not administration and management. These Senior Moderators will have some key responsibilities: - Organisation and management of server events - Senior point of contact for issues in helpdesk, and may issue indefinite bans - Responsible for on-boarding and training of trial moderators - Strongly recommended to have frequent activity and responsibilities with key factions on the server (Be in the command team for Medic/Cop or in a leadership role for a civilian group) For more information on indefinite bans please refer to my other post.

As stated by Lotza, " If we were to go ahead with the wipe, you can also expect to see some changes to the balance of the server and economy. " When this topic was brought up in the management chat we discussed the obvious need for some balancing changes, which is why Lotza mentioned it in his original post.
