People don't seem to understand that having the advantage to just drop in on your enemy out of nowhere, means you can't take a lot of your gear. It's a fair trade off and i don't think they're going to change the system. My suggestion is that you get a pilot to drop in an ammo crate with all your kitbags in it. Also, the large font size isn't needed, people are going to read it all the same.

Oh, well now i feel silly >.<

I am 99% sure the server already uses a headless client. EDIT: If you see here it has been discussed and is implemented.
-
I don't think you guys are understanding what they mean when they say they really can't do what you're asking. Basically if you're getting equipment that others don't, even if it's just more of it, then that's getting an advantage, which the Terms of Service forbid.

This server has view distance options that you need to change once you're on the server, if you press your [Home] key there should be a tab called 'visibility'. You should try changing the view distance there as it defaults quite low and overrides your game settings.

I love this community because they have some of the most dedicated and helpful staff i have ever seen, and it shows, straya has the only consistently populated I&A server within 150ms.
-
Hey man don't tell them that, they're only meant to find out after i have a fleet of them on standby.
-
Frankly, i'm starting to get sick of seeing Autoriflemen taking MBTs into the AO.

A points system, whereby, players earn points by killing enemies, completing objectives, ect. Players use these points to purchase vehicles. This could replace the side mission rewards, by giving all players involved(Or just everyone) a large sum of points they can use to purchase whatever they want. Players can transfer their points to other players so one of them can get something really good. Starting vehicles at the base would be limited. e.g only the two slammers and the two marshalls in the car park(Keeping all the cars obviously), players need to use them, get some points, then buy a Kuma/Gorgon/T-100/Kamysh. Obviously the more powerful vehicles would cost more points. the same system could also be used for planes (Im not very familiar by how they compare to eachother so i wont give an example) and the cars at base as well.

Being able to save vehicles loadouts. So i don't have to spend 15 minutes filling my APCs with FAKs and MX mags every time.
-
I think this is a great idea if we can get it set up. @Qeus Is there a way you could do something like what was done with fatigue? Adding it to the settings menu i mean.
-
He has a point quik, DO THEY?! Also, i've found some FOBs are very far from the AO they are assigned to.
-
Oh! Being able to steal enemy vehicles that have been disabled and abandoned! Since it's the only way to get a T-100 without bugging fitz for some sort of zeus mission. Small, player deployable structures, i.e, camo nets, sandbags, ect.
-
Oh ho ho, i've been waiting for this. *Cracks knuckles* Not going to go into huge detail, i'll just rattle off the general ideas I'd love for side missions to have more of an impact. i.e. "Stop a convoy from reaching their destination or have to deal with an army of tanks at the next AO" The potential for enemy reinforcements to come into the AO would make it quite a bit more diverse. If players fail several defenses in a row, they have to defend the airfield from an attack Specific squad units for people wishing to drive tanks, with similar rules to the pilot slots. Several HQ like structures in each AO, with only one of them actually being the real HQ, but all of them having enemies. Enemy bases spread out across the map, with regular patrols and support units. I really should put this next one in FOB feedback but i'll put it here because i'm lazy, some of the FOB's are extremely far from the AO they are assigned to (Sometimes 7+km away)

Love everything Kal sais, especially vehicle selecting. A few things I'll throw out: More specific selections for the ground vehicles at base; specific sections for light and heavy armour. A fleet of those new buggies at the airfield. The hype train, it has no brakes.

Even though Global voice now works, i still think it should be a rule that people avoid using it where possible, unless it's a callout or something like that. i.e, blowing the radio tower, enemy gunship in the AO. I don't really want people having casual chats over side when i'm concentrating.

I almost always play engineer so my kit very rarely changes. Most of the time i am driving a tank so i planned my kit for if i were to get separated from my vehicle and crew. What kal said about the ECH and his FAKs is 100% true. I don't play with stamina so i generally run a very heavy kit (This one comes in at about 85% of the weight limit) Uniform CTRG uniform, CTRG heavy plate rig, Assault pack, ECH I use the CTRG uniform because i prefer it's look over the others, also the heavy plate rig has high armour values Primary MX SW; Bipod, Flashlight, ARCO, 100rnd red tracer mag As i said before, getting separated from my tank is what i plan on, that means having to fight off enemies untill i can get to allies. The MX SW is perfect for that, it gives a single soldier a lot of fire power and can make defending a HQ a hell of a lot easier. I use red tracers since it makes fighting targets at long range easier (Burst fire and watching where the tracers land) Sidearm 4-five. 45 ACP; MRD (Red dot sight), 11rnd mag I think in the entire time i've been playing ArmA i've only used my sidearm once and that was back in A2, however i will never leave without one, it could save your life one day. Gear NVGs, Rangefinder, Tactical shades, GPS (Very important) 2x RGO, 4x 11rnd pistol mags, 3x 100rnd red tracer mags, 3 FAKs, 3x white smoke, 2x green smoke ^^^This equipment is standard on any kit i play 2x SLAM mines, 2x Explosive Charges, 1x Toolkit ^^^This is my engineer specific equipment NVG's, rangefinder and a GPS are a must for me, So many times i've had people asking for NVGs when night pops up on the server. A GPS is extremely useful when driving a vehicle as it allows you to not have to pull the map up every 100 meters. I have 3 spare MG mags giving me 400 rounds to defend myself with. Always carry atleast two smoke nades, they can be invaluable in close quarters and in open areas when you need a little bit more cover. Having coloured smoke on hand just adds a bit more versatility. Onto my engineer gear, the toolkit is obviously a must, this cuts my backpack space in half, either i take one satchel or two explosive charges, i picked the charges as they are slightly more versatile(eg. Clearing obstacles in a town) and one satchel cant take out a radio tower. To supplement this i take two SLAM mines in my vest, they can immobilize most vehicles (Although they wont kill them)
-
Would you be able to provide a complete rundown of how the system works? I'm still a bit confused on the finer mechanics.
-
In my experience, paradrops are only great in situations where you need guys in there fast. Since you lose your backpack, if you plan on spending any extended period of time in the AO, it's generally best to be dropped off or drive. Maybe a work around to this would be setting special properties for medkits and repair kits, so that they can be put into a vest at the expense of most if not all that vests carrying capability. This would leave you with only your clothing to work with for gear however, but paratroopers have never been the best supplied troops in any army!

As a suggestion for the HEMTT Mover, i think it would make it a lot more viable having towed crates (Like the huron crates) super imposed over the rear of the truck, like on the HEMTT Repair, with a much lessened movement penalty (Sick drifts are fun but super annoying)

I'd love to see a FOB constructor in one form or another, either as an extension of the bobcat's functionality or it's own vehicle. I'm not sure how i really feel about the whole zeus thing, personally i rather having a few premade bases to choose from and place as a whole unit. To expand on the premade thing, i was thinking that each set had a different function, as in; one is an infantry resupply/respawn area, one is vehicle service, one is defensive emplacements and such.
-
Well, here are my attempts so far, the last one is a bit of a joke so don't take it too seriously! http://imgur.com/a/ALTD8 (Also disregard the jump in the first one, i wanted to know if i could clear the HQ in an offroad, short story; yes i can.)
-
I've got a few designs I'd like to put in but i can't for the life of me figure out how to save the object composition as a seperate file. Nor can i figure out how to turn the HUD off in the editor >.<
-
@Qeus Just so i'm clear, when you say Arma2 assets are you referring to these?

Dang mate that's not bad, i think i need to step up my game a bit!
