Why do you deserve a promotion? Firmly dedicated to the Altis Police Department and have been very active during my time as a general duties officer. It’s my belief that I’ve made an active improvement during my time CO-ing to the GD division and have coordinated effectively between SRT and CIU during major robberies and operations. During General Duties I’ve made every effort to adhere to APD protocol and helped to educate lower ranks when on protocol where needed. (50 Words min) Whilst i have been senior detective i have enjoyed every minute of it, From taking CO on GD, to helping Pull hunters for banks i have learnt a lot. I believe i deserve a promotion because of the immense amount of effort i put into the APD and detectives. I am actively taking CO, completing inductions as well as helping other up and coming members of the APD to strive to do better. Further more i have been putting a lot of time into CIU, from House painting, to House Raids i have really started to Learn fully what it takes to Be apart of CIU. Overall i believe that i have achieved a lot at senior constable and i feel that i am ready to move on up. Who would recommend you for a promotion?     +1 Prophecy's conduct as an APD officer is of a high standard. Doing what ever he can to assist other officers in furthering their skills. Always agreeing and submitting to doing inductions without majority of time being asked. He holds himself in high regards and always displays to other officers what we expect of them. Without a doubt the style of leadership be brings to the current position is of a benefit to the APD. Most of all he is able to remain calm in a situation of duress nature, can co-ordinate many cluttered comms and still execute a flawless arrest. Kind Regards [L01W] Robert Losure

    Greetings fresh spawns Before you read ahead, i got this information via reddit and compiled it here so i take no credit. I will link a bunch of helpful videos at the end aswell. Spawning The Rock: It can do everything. It's not really good at anything though, so try to get specialized tools/weapons ASAP. The Torch: Ah yes, the number one reason of premature death in Rust. Rust is dark at night. REALLY dark. So if you light your torch, you make yourself a VERY visible target. I only use it indoor, or if it's absolutely necessary, and then only for a short time. Don't run around with your torch out, or your death will be quick. If it is wipe-day, there might be other naked people around you. Your first task will be to get some tools and weapons. There are three Main start weapons Wooden spear: Costs 300 wood. You can poke things with it or throw it. Throwing it is only advisable if you have a secondary weapon, since whatever you throw it at might run away with it or (in case it was something with two legs) pick it up and use it against you. PRO TIP: If you plan to hunt animals, the easiest way to kill them without getting hurt is to make them follow you into the water. Animals are VERY slow in the water, and the poking range of the spear is slightly higher then the attack range of the animals. That even works with bears. Hunting Bow: Costs 200 wood and 50 cloth. Additionally Arrows. 25 wood and 10 stone for two arrows. You HAVE to get good with this weapon, because for the first hours on wipe day, this is your main weapon. I usually craft around 20 arrows for it so I don't run out of them in case of a longer fight. Finding the cloth for it might be problamatic if you are in a desert (hit catusses!) or snow biom. Bone Knife: As soon as you killed your first animal (or human) hit it with your rock (or stone hatchet, if you have one) until the body is gone. You will obtain a number of bone fragments. If you manage to get 30, make a bone knife. The next time you kill something, harvest the body with the bone knife. I will give you more ressources and it will give them faster. To get those weapons, you have to gather the necessary materials first. You can find stone, wood, metal and sulfur ore (the latter two are not important yet) on the ground in small quantities (50), but those are rather rare and other nakeds might have picked them up already. So, to get wood, walk to a tree, get out your rock and start smacking it. You might notice a red X appearing. If you always hit that, you will get the tree down faster. To get stone, do the same with a Stone node. They look like this: Stone node (credit to Rustlabs) Instead of the red X, you will see a sparkling spot. Hit it and you will be done much quicker. Now you can make Tools Stone hatchet: Cost: 200 wood, 100 stone. Craft this one first. It will allow you to cut down trees at twice the speed, while also obtaining more wood per tree. It is also better than the rock for harvesting animal bodies. Stone pickaxe: Cost: 200 wood, 100 stone. You will need this to gather more stone. It is also quite good as a melee weapon, although it doesn't really match up to the spear because of its limited range. Now that you have weapons and tools, try to find a base location. Some things to consider when choosing your Base location Ressources: If there are no trees there, don't settle. Especially at the start you will need a LOT of wood. Ores are also important, mainly stone at the start. The border between woodlands/snow biom is usually a great spot, because the snow biom provides you with ore while the woodlands provide what their name would suggest. Climate: Yes, really. The only really important thing here is the snow biom. While you may have a relatively calm time there, you have to wear clothes/stand next to a fire all the time to stay alive, especially at night. I personally find that very annoying. But it's a matter of taste. Roads: Roads are great to find tools, scrap and components. But they also attract people. (Which is not necessarily bad - but something to be aware of.) I usually build close to a Road, but in a spot that's not visible from the road. Monuments: Monuments (formerly called radtowns) are relicts of past glory on the island. Examples are the Harbour, Trainyard and Launch Site. I will go into further detail in another guide, but essentially, they provide you with components, weapons, and last but not least: a recycler. That thing is one of the most important facilities in Rust. It allows you to put in stuff you don't need (including components) and grinding them down. Doing so with metal components (weapon bodies, pipes, gears, sheet metal, etc.) will give you scrap, metal fragments and high quality metal (short: HQM). Just be aware that they are natural hotspots, so be ready for battle. Okay, so you found your perfect spot? Before you build, find 30 cloth and craft a sleeping bag. Place it next to the location you want to build at. It will allow you to respawn there when you die. (Trust me, nothing is more frustrating than collecting stuff for a base, getting killed by a bear, running back across the whole map and then find that you have been looted.) Place a second one inside your base when you are done Building Now you need to build your first base. There are more videos on base building than I can count, but essentially, a 1x2 (two square foundations) or a 2x2 will do for the start. Before you start building, you need to gather enough materials. I would advise to get 3k wood (1k for TC, 1k for two doors and locks, 1k for building) and about 3-5k Stone. Craft a Building plan, a Hammer, a Tool Cupboard (TC), three keylocks and two wooden doors. (If you have 150 metal or more, craft a metal door.) Equip your building plan and build your base. Try to be quick, don't forget the ceilings, and include an airlock. That means building a triangle at the entrance with two single doors. If you open one, it blocks the other, which prevents people from getting in your base when you get out. Place your TC (in a good place, you can't move it afterwards) and lock it. Place the doors and lock them. Upgrade everything to stone, or at least to wood. Put leftover materials in your TC. Voila, you have a base. Now you can go out and Proceed to the metal age The next step is to kill some animals (or one bear - those beasts are walking lowgrade), and make lowgrade out of their fat and cloth. With that, stone and wood you can make furnaces, which you can use to smelt metal. Which will get you better tools, weapons, and most importantly: Metal doors. If you have survived until here: Congratulations! I will make another guide for the next stages in the game. Just some more Facts and Pro tips Sleeping bags are used to set "Respawn points". You can only spawn once every 5 minutes in a sleeping bag. If two sleeping bags are too close, spawning in one will also restart the bag timer on the other one. Always have one sleeping back inside your base and one outside. the one outside should be >30m from the base, so the bag timers don't sync up. If you are on the way to your "Base spot" you can run on the road and collect stuff right away. There are trash collections on the side of the street. The tool crates are especially useful in early game, since they can provide you with better axes and pickaxes. But be careful, other people might try that as well. Tool crate (credit to Rustlabs) Don't leave ANY part of your base twig (the base material). It's extremely weak. It only takes two bowshots to get destroyed, so upgrade it ASAP. If you have TC access, you can destroy building blocks for 10 minutes after you placed them. After that, they can only be destroyed with brute force. You can pick up doors by unlocking them, taking the lock off (hold E), opening them and then picking them up (with a hammer if it's not a sheet metal door) (hold E). All building blocks have a soft and a hard side. In case of foundations and ceilings there isn't really a way to do it wrong. But in case of walls, there is. Always make sure the strong side of your walls are facing outwards. Otherwise enemies can break in by using one hatchet (wooden wall) or seven pickaxes (stone wall). Hard sides of various walls - they should face outwards (credit to Rustafied) Soft sides of various walls - they should face inwards (credit to Rustafied) DON'T. MAKE. KEYS. Therer are two types of locks in Rust. If you place and lock a keylock, only you will have access. You don't need to craft a key. It is a VERY bad idea to do so, since anyone who kills you will have access to your base. If you have someone else you want to give access to your base, try to get 100 metal and craft a codelock. Think of a good code, punch it in and you will have access forever (you don't need to put it in every time). TC. The tool cupboard, usually called TC, is THE main deployable in your base. In order to place anything on your base, you need to authorize on the TC. (which only works if it's unlocked or if you have the code - hence the lock). It also contains the upkeep material for the base. If you don't put enough stuff in, your base will start to decay and break. It will tell you what it needs when you open it. Protect this TC with your life. If someone get's your TC, your base is basically stolen gone. Don't trust anyone. This is probably the main rule in Rust. Yes, eventually you will make allies, but don't trust anybody if you have something to lose. People in Rust are generally not nice. Usually, their goal is to put something pointy in your head. So if you see somebody: Either kill him or run. Don't expect a friendly conversation. And never ever give your base location away, or tell anybody how much stuff you have. Except if you want to get rid of your base. Then do exactly that. And last but not least Don't be an asshole. Rust is a brutal game, and it's okay to get salty if you lose stuff. But if you are too angry: Take a break. Don't run out there trying to annoy people or to scream at them. Don't paint swastikas on your wall. Don't be that kid that calls people shit in the chat. It's annoying for everybody and doesn't make Rust a better place.     Break out is definitely too easy, but that's a consequence of having zero guards. And yes, a lot of that can be blamed on the prison's design. However, having AA is not the solution in my view.
