How many hours in total do you have on Altis Life (estimated): 800-900

Why do you want to join the gang: I want to join the gang because... I mostly play in smaller groups attempting to win fights with strategy and skill. But i'm now wanting to try out some different combat / roleplay scenarios such as doing banks and mass scale fights with other big gangs and the police force. Gang bases are also pretty sick. Cool. Damn I forgot to mention I wanna clap some SIS members.

List all clans/gangs/groups you have been a part of in Arma 3: BRF, NATO, Altis Police... Honestly its been a while since I was on the server but I have been playing on an off since around 2016 so I've been in a few different gangs :).

    Cheers.

    Hell no.

This is just another way cops can get civs/rebels arrested without a declaration.
In my opinion, I actually think the law you suggested is kinda pointless, It's just another charge you can add while processing. It will also lead to RDM, cops will ask for firearm searches, then the civ or rebel carrying the firearm will 100% feel threatened and mow you down.

    That's literally what I said...

"Hello sir! I see you are carrying a firearm! Would I be able to have a quick look at how many mags you are carrying to make sure you are in compliance with the law?"
    *checks bp, vest, uniform*

    "Ok cheers!"

    done

Then the cop turns around and is shot in the head for... Searching a person without consent.

If this were to be a rule, it would just be ANOTHER thing that civilians can be fined for while being processed... :Thinking3D:

Hi @Fusionable, thanks for taking the time to reply.

I totally agree with your point about implementing the player suggestions first, and then determining exactly what we need to wipe.

What are your thoughts in regards to my comment about resetting the APD & APS? In my opinion, the APS has gone incredibly stale, and those who I've talked to have complained bitterly about the promotion system. Players who play consistently with good role-play are stuck in low positions while those who are in the senior ranks play inconsistently and usually just hop on to make some money or troll us contractors...

The APD is better managed, kudos to @Augnov and his cabinet for that, but I do find that there are many people in the mid-level ranks (Senior Constable - Sergent) who are only there for the 'frags' and the money. When I hand rebels/items into the cops, I often find the pubslots are the best role-players, and actually respond to authorization requests.

What are your thoughts? Am I right or am I seeing a non-existent problem?

This wipe will be the worst thing any manager has ever done, think about it. Think from a civs/rebs POV. No matter what you say your going to do to balance the server, its not going to be balanced. The cops will give tickets for every little thing, give as many tickets as they can, make up excuses for tickets, cops will make the most money and have the most gear by FAR, and the rebels wont even have enough money to buy a 7.62 loadout.

basically this wipe will break the server

Also, Every cop will be in favour of this wipe because they will be the ones on the top if it wipes, Please give me some examples of cons of this wipe from a cops POV

I see all. Wiping everything. Every little thing (Un including ranks), I believe is what this server needs. At the moment, it's not the police that old and new players are concerned about, its the Lare Gangs. I know for sure that I can leave Sydney and have close to no worries about the APD, BUT, upon leaving the Sydney limits I will have 9 Aobe Members (For example), 8 Striders, 7 Mk1 emr's, 6 heli's, 5 Screaming children, 4 pounds of feces in my pants (from fear), 3 Snipers, 2 Navids and an explosive charge awaiting me. That is NOT fun. That is also not what new players want. To be completely honest, the APD isn't THAT bad... Sure there are some corrupt Officers but, all in all. What I recommend is that SOME ranks are removed, APD and APS Leadership Ranks can stay in place, whereas some of the lower ranks can be brought back to constable and such. In real life, there are NEVER that many Leadership positions (If realism is what we are going for). It would give as Joshua mentioned, some of the lower ranks that can contribute good role play a chance to rank up. It would show Civilians that they now have a chance of joining the Cop force and having a chance at climbing the ranks. Anyhow, I stand on the "yes" side of the Server Wipe, but as others have said... I believe there need to be many other changes first, including it being easier for Civilians to make money, that is the answer to being able to fight against the APD. "Balancing", Content, the small things that were mentioned in the Community meeting.

    Cheers.

  5. GMOD Would be awesome, they still have a large community, maybe some sort of Military Role Play server or Dark RP. Check out colossal gaming, they are very successful and could get some inspiration from them, Also Gmod servers are not hard to set up. I could help out if needed.

Secondly, a Rust server. I'm yet to see some Battle Royale servers set up in Rust (For AU/NZ). Or otherwise maybe a 2x Vanilla server, maybe even try to start up a popular Solo/Duo/Trio Server. Even if a server is not put up (which is most likely). Would love to get some support over on the Rust Club.

It's a large and growing game with many active players (and growing). Its hard but it IS fun.

Anyway, hope these ideas can help, Cheers.

  6. Mate. I don't know where you have been but last time I was on there was a solid 40 Pop. Now, as I'm sure you have no experience in server developing you can be quick to judge, but @James32 Has been working his ass of organising events, listening to suggestions and working with the community in attempt to make everyone happy. I personally think that removing drones and making heavy vehicles over priced is great, as when joining wastelands I'm here for some hardcore Rifle V Rifle PVP. Not to get cross mapped by a drone. Anyhow, check the statistics as RED said and back up your argument a bit more..
