I'm gonna come out from under my rock for a second: Cop went through a very rough 9 or 10 months with instability from not having a long-term commissioner, the resets drove away a lot of good cops who had worked literally months to attain their ranks, various rule changes and mechanics to limit their gear and combat/roleplay options in the name of "balance" it damn near killed the cop force. Rebels never seemed to complain when the could roflstomp the cops at will and had the ruleset heavily in their favour. I'm glad to see that cop force has managed to rebuild and rebalancing has made them an actual credible threat to the rebels of Altis, rebels will simply need to learn to adapt to having a highly trained and lethal cop force on Altis with Sydney locked down and under their control. pick your fights... the cops don't have to stay in contact until they all die or kill all the rebels. if they can do enough damage (i.e destroy a strider or kill a couple rebels then withdraw back to safe territory to limit their own losses is sound strategy and roleplay rather than just being baited and slaughtered). cops can bring a lot more firepower to a fight, rebels need to fight smarter in order to compete... they shouldn't outgun the cops or outnumber them except in extreme situations. Keep it up APD, send those rebels for the hills. A wild former APD commissioner appears and now returns to his retirement rock. my favourite SOB meme just for old time sakes

After viewing the recent "Orange DLC" I've been interested in proposing a small amount of slots for a civilian faction for the server. Their role would be: - Clearing mines (I.e mines on the server don't despawn until defused) - Reviving dead players - Repairing vehicles - Delivering non-lethal supplies (Smoke grenades, medkits, repair kits, faks etc.) These actions are rewarded with points that can be seen on the ingame leaderboards and the standard Arma leaderboards. I am proposing 5 slots to be accessible to white listed members of the community (Can be changed, just my idea). The roles include: - IDAP Coordinator (Basically a squad leader) - IDAP Medic, access to medical delivery drone - IDAP Defuser, access to new mine clearing drone - IDAP Repairman, access to general supply delivery drone - IDAP Pilot, flies IDAP branded mohawk Obviously this new faction comes under the civilian side, therefore necessary class and vehicle restrictions should take place, ground rules are as follows. - No rifles, launchers, sidearms (Except for flare pistol) or lethal grenades. Following rules for non-lethals - No entry into armed vehicles On the other hand these restrictions are balanced with these bonuses: - Access to the IDAP ambulance (Acts as a taru medical pod with 20 or so revive tickets) - Access to new drones - Not being a target of the AI, due to their civilian status - Access to construction unifroms and IDAP uniforms Also considering that these players will be a different side to blufor, tags will not appear for blufor players. Meaning that if someone kills an IDAP member it will not show as a team kill, however I believe that some sort of punishment should be in place to punish those attacking civilians, a possibility could be a player being sent to Gitmo for a couple minutes if the IDAP player deems it as careless or purposeful (Like the robocop system in place). Any opinions are welcome for a possible introduction. EDIT: Vehicles for these slots should include: - IDAP Ambulance - Offroad repair (Service) - IDAP Mohawk - Appropriate UAV's

I really love this server, and the guys that play on this. But I have played on some other servers, and i feel that the AI are not very smart, or they are dialed back. They don't seem to attempt to flank, or when hitting a town, its a case of hide and seek with the AI that are just waiting in buildings to be cleared. What are the AI settings? As I feel they could be harder, as the server seems to lack a good fight, against the AI. Everyone just rushes the AO, and kills everything. The only time when it seems interesting is when you have to defend a HQ, which is cool :) But this seems the only time that we are in a stress position, for fear of being overrun. Let me know your thoughts. GG
