G'day All Just have been reading over this post and thought I should show you some history of the Police on the server. Back in October 2015 when I first came to this community the cops where struggling to have more than 8 players online for more than an hour at at time. Rebels and Civs where running wild, Sydney was over run all the time with rebels, It did not help that most of the police force would log off as cop and go as rebel to cause the problems for who ever was left on as cop (mostly pub-slots) no one above the rank of Sargent was online to support the lower ranks. People would bait the cops in to shoot outs knowing that 4 pub-slots with tazers was an easy battle to win. In October 2015 a rework of the police force was requested by the community, but the commissioner at the time saw no problems with the police force. As you can read for yourself in Rework the cop force post. I was asked to run the police force (by the founders of the community) shortly after a few more complaints about the way cops where operating, my goal was to restructure the command, ranks, training, operations, tactics, roleplay and to bring numbers up in the police force. In the 1st month of me taking over I threw out the old police database and started over from scratch, started training sessions, and restructured the command of the police force. The old commanders did like that and tried to vote me out, As you can read in the Cop Commissioner post. Over the past 6 months the police force has changed, numbers are up to the point there are over 10 cops online each day, communications are better using the 10-codes and not a screaming match over teamspeak, training is conducted to help players roleplay better think better and use tactics, teamwork is more impotent than solo rambo cops doing there own thing, cops are using the database as a main reference for all police information and not making up stuff as they go along, more command cops are online to support the lower ranks, dispatch and coordination is a lot better, Rebels and Civs are not running as wild as they where before (apart from the odd trolls), and as a whole the server is better than it was before. The foundation I made for the police force has worked and others have helped build that foundation up to make the police force better (Spectral, Roger Purple, Brutalforthepizza, Delta, Masin, 2muchKFC, Rambo and others) but we still have more to do with training, communications, tactics, new recruits, roleplay and a few other areas of improvement. And we are working on that, the police force has come a long way in 6 months, and in the next 6 months will be a lot better. I have done my main goal for the police force in laying a foundation for others to build on. I am very proud of what I have done for the police force, even prouder the way others have embraced my work and continue to build on what I have done. All involved are making this police force the best on any server.

Value For life Rule (VLR) Value For life Rule (VLR) added to the main rules set for Altis Life. But not in affect, will be in full effect soon. This rule has been used but was not added in the the master rules when first written. This rule has always been a general understanding with players when playing Altis Life Server. Now the rule has been written and added to define VLR. Value For life Rule (VLR) Value for life rule means you must not get involved in situations that you're not involved with in the first place, you must value your life above all else. If you put yourself in a dangerous situation it's your fault. If you are killed not following instructions, loitering around areas after you have been told to move on, entering combat areas you're not involved with, it will be considered breaking Value For Life Rule. You can not 3rd party any situation. If you're not involved in the RolePlay, you can not get yourself involved. Those undertaking actions that fall outside valuing their life may forfeit any claim to RDM or Compensation via the Forums. If you are found to have charged into a gunfight unarmed trying to loot something, or acted in a way that goes against the valuing of your life in game; you may forfeit any Comp claim and may be banned. Give real thought to your actions in game before trolling or abusing this rule. If you place yourself in harms way willingly and with no thought to your life or the lives or game play of others you may be forced to Comp them, and still be banned for your actions. Valued Life Rule states “basic human need to survive will govern actions by player, not a desire to cause problems, or accumulate items/money in game” VLR means everything from standing in the middle of the road, to provoking Cops into killing you, anything that acts against the basic human desire to survive can push you into a bad situation Comp/Ban wise. Be warned! Please read the Altis Life Rules for more information.

Nice work cake very cool vid
  4. Marc_R

Well they wont do it again, if they do its a 3 day ban, fail role play.
  5. Marc_R

Yes only off dead rebels they can take the gold, not whats in the vault. What is in the vault stays in the vault and to be locked up by police.

Fair point to bring up about Feb Bank. Fed Bank should be high risk high reward. Once fed bank alarm goes off all police need to respond, to stop the robbery. One of the cartels can respond as well, but they MUST NOT enter the Fed Bank during the robbery as they will be shot by police. The cartel should sit back and wait and see of the police retake the Fed Bank or fail. Then the cartel can try and stop then rebels or take up the fight outside the Fed Bank Walls, like at gold buyer or other surrounding areas to stop the rebels reaching an outpost. The police and cartel are not working together during a Fed Bank robbery, police can kill cartel members if they get to close to the area. And cartel can kill police if the police go after them. " If Federal Bank or Sydney Bank gets robbed cartels can engage the rebels robbing the Federal or Sydney bank, but they can not rob the Federal or Sydney bank out right, if the vault is intact they must leave the vault intact, and let the police lock the federal bank backup. But cartel members can pick up gold off dead rebels." meaning cartels can not take gold out of the Fed Bank, they can only take it off the dead rebels, they must let the police lock up and secure the Fed Bank. Cartels can engage rebels robbing the fed bank, but must let the police handle the situation first, then they can respond outside of bank areas. Main goal is for the police to stop the robbery and arrest the robbers. Main goal for the cartels is to kill the robbers and take back what is theirs. Main goal for the robbers its to get the gold/cash and get away alive. Thus needing anyone to refine the tactics and manpower in a robbery.

I like that the police force is getting good numbers to play online, From about 4pm (AEST) the police does out number the civs, when that happens we take half the cops for training, while the other half are on patrol. From about 5pm till about 10pm the numbers of civs out number the cops. it does get to that 3 ; 1 ratio for most of the game time people play. It seems the main issue centers around the times people jump the server. This is a double edge sword depending on the times, early arvo the police out number the civs, but later on the civs out number the police. While the police out number the civs they should be doing patrols all over Altis and not bunch up in Sydney (Kavala), set up RBT (role play), practice driving on the rally track, sharpen their shooting skills at the range, go through the police data base, there are lots more the police can be doing during the times when the police out number the civs. Use the "quiet time" to better your self as police officers and not harass the civs going about their normal business, unless you have probable cause. A civ running down the road is not probable cause to stop them. As for players being both Civ and Police, is a different matter, I have had a few people say the same comments as Coen, and I do think if people go as cop for and hour or less at a time then spend the rest of their time as Civ can stay in the public slot, and let others who want to spend the time as a cop be white listed and rank up. It can upset people that you ride with on patrol with them for a little bit then you end up in a shoot out with them for the rest of your night. It can cause a rift between players and that feeling of miss trust. The SRT team is the police force heavy hand when it comes to bank robberies, hostage situations or other large police ops. I do think its a little unfair when some of them are trained to control a situation end up causing the situation for the police to deal with and know the tactics that the police will use. Not a fair fight if you know whats coming. Like what was said before tho we cant control what people do, play civ, play medic or play cop. But once the police force starts filling up with players who want to just be a cop the others that just spend a little time in then go civ wont have a spot on the server to play cop, as the slots for police will be filled by the ones that just want to play cop. But this will take time and more players to join the server. But at the same time we have to be fair to all and respect that people like to play all areas or just one area.

G'day Parko21Great to know you had a good time on Altis Life server and had a lot of fun. You did a good job with supporting James with taking down the Strider with with 3 heavily armed men is no easy task for even fully trained officers even tho you guys did not make the arrest in the end. Taking in the communication from Index with directions on the Rebels trying to escape. But have to say you both did well for your first day in as public slot cop, I am sure many more great days will be a head for you both on Altis Life.I'll like to say thank you to Dick Smith, Yolo Swaggings, and John Thomas for their time as Rebels, with helping myself and James with role play training at 3am, they where all good sports in joining in. Also thank you to Tunaah and Nathan for showing you the ropes when you first logged in as police, and James for the Role Play you did when one random player did get a little rude to you, Index and Parko21 for a normal traffic stop, and keeping in role play through the whole situation. Good to see the role play training worked from last Friday, and showing Index and Parko21 how to handle that kind of situation.
