6 pointsSo I'm starting this thread to start a discussion about a proposal to change the rule where cops and rebels can log in and respond to a Fed/Bank Now before you go into flame mode this is a discussion, if you dont have a point to add that is constructive please keep it to your self. Over the last week iv done 2 Fed's and 4 Bank attempts all of these have blown out to over a hour+ with fed blowing out massively.. 2 and half hours witch is a bit of a joke. The current reason these events are blowing out is cause PD sits way out side the effective range of weapon systems. i.e a Hunter HMG 5km away from the Fed. This draws out the event cause rather then admit defeat, they wait you out till they have enough cops to have a 2nd or 3rd or 4th attempt at taking you out, and if it looks pear shape at any stage the hunter pulls back till more log in again. with Bank its a sniper on a hill 1+km away with a lynx. Now currently there is a massive sway in fire power on the side of PD witch means having externals is a faster way to loose, so your stuck waiting for cops to rush you with a cat and mouse peekaboo show that lasts hours. Yes we can craft items to have the same fire power but by the time u make your first wep you dont want to use it for fear or having to remake it again. WHAT I'M SUGGESTING: the current rule with a tweek, set a timer on it.. allow cops and rebels to respond but give this a cut off. so after 10 mins of the till or vault being kicked in and slapped with a fish Cops and Rebels can no longer join the event. WHY: currently its hard to keep track of how many cops you have killed and how many are active in the area. also have had issues where we have killed cops multiple times during the one event cause they have come back. Having cops leaving the area to make sure more can come is kinda bullshit. I understand why this was changed in the first place. As large gangs would wait till 10 low ranked cops where on and hit a fed. but this currently isn't working. I look for to hearing every ones points on this, and again keep it above board and to the point please Regards Spet --------------------------------------------- This is a pretty big topic and many people will have clashing opinions (rebels vs. police). Let's keep it civil fellas, no flaming or any unnecessary language thank you. This topic will be constantly moderated. You have been warned. ~ Aidan

6 pointsWhat's the roleplay in that, cops should be ready and prepared to push the bank as a team. Someone shouldn't be able to just spawn in and buy gear/car 30 mins in and drive in with no one with them and keep the situation going. I reckon this wouldn't be such a hassle for the developers adding a timer that starts when bank starts that let's people know when 10 minutes is up. I'm all for the idea of not letting them join but I don't think that would be fair at all for cops as they wouldn't get a chance to get a couple good cops on if there is all bad ones. I think it should be the cops/rebels responsibility to tell other people that the timers up and that's not hard it all if you're not incompetent.

4 pointsWhats has been done so far: @insanD - https://gyazo.com/83491f9df2ea98e6a4116c96dcf8c1c0 @vizzN - I extended the gate coming more back (internally) to PD This should mean both gates won't open at the same time - https://gyazo.com/30be98022c2038f99526826cf0138a4f @Leopard - Majority of your checklist is done I need to discuss a few things with you regarding SRT base, Neri, and jail. However, pretty much everything on the list you gave me is completed. I will show you everything when we have a chat. @Magix - Oil deposits have been moved there are now 2 processors, traders, and deposits on both sides of the map. - https://gyazo.com/d7064aabfdb354f8fa57776462b8de12 (Excuse the crappy drawing) @Zorgain - All walls and random objects EXTERNALLY have been removed from westpac, just an office building with an internal design - https://gyazo.com/f3e8242d48d7abbc22657c18b0b986a4 Im not sure who suggested this I think it was Leopard but a kiosk has been placed where cops can go and answer questions etc. Please, keep suggestions coming and I will have a look at them and see what I can do. Cheers, Excel

3 pointsIts not that hard to shift tab to note the time of bank/fed, When i said rough time i meant by like 30 seconds not 5 mins if it takes some one 5 mins to note the time of when the bank or fed goes off they shouldn't be in a command role. What i propose isn't hard. There is the issue of how these players are actually making it to fed when all Pol Air is dead. cops are getting helicopters given to them to fly over to respond or dead cops are flying them to melb then spawning them hunters to respond.
-
3 pointsThis annoys me, you have purely just said this for cops, don't comment on things if you're going to be biased. It's what us rebels want its what we proposed so in a way it wouldn't be a hassle at all because WE ARE THE ONES that want it. Your only saying this because you're a cop and it's a hassle to you, not us.

2 pointsRamming would be stupid like @Byron said the amount of reports up in helpdesk etc will be insane + 10x the amount of those poor fellas doing compensation requests. The amount of explosions and potential RDM would increase a lot. I see why it was taken away for the better however if it was something like armour on armour that would kinda make more sense only armoured vehicles can ram another armoured vehicle because if not I'm gonna be buying hemmits and smashing the cops with them in their little SUV's and hatchbacks and I know if I was getting rammed It would just be frustrating and unneeded.
-
2 pointsThat's the spirit, bring back ramming please. Ramming makes car chases etc more intense.
-
2 pointsI personally think that when this rule was implements it was absolutely stupid and not needed, however the reason that it was ripped from Altis was because of the amount of all of the explosions (cause of Arma's unique framework ) and this is why it was taken out. And although there are bad things about ramming after all cops have no way of stopping vehicles while in pursuit except getting another unit to go up ahead and spike the road and even then the spikes are so glitchy that often when sports hatchbacks go over them they still are not effective. Just a bit stupid that the ramming also includes blocking vehicles in to try and take out targets cant drive away like in Fed where i rammed a strider and flipped it and i got taken up to helpdesk (@Farensik ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) )as i wasn't aware of the rule change is just a bit stupid, ramming has always been in and i see no reason why it was ripped out of Altis so fast without any feedback from the community.

2 points@Pedro Lopez, speed radars are implemented, while in a police vehicle, all you have to do is press the / button on your numpad to display the driver's information, speed and all that good stuff. Hope this helps my man.

2 pointsIn Old Straya their was a bank on the small island near brisbane. This was a great spot for a bank and I would like to see this again. This spot is also good because their is less chance of getting glitch killed from assets as it is already part of the map.

1 pointWelcome to where i actually talk about my life and where i came from! I don't have work until 5PM so i thought i'd do something as useless as Shift 5, introduce myself. Hi, I'm Byron. I'm 17 Years of age and I've been playing in the strayagaming community for some time now, I have been on here since about February of 2015. I ended up making a forums account in April i think, i figured why not since I'm gunna be playing on the services. I originally started playing WasteLand with a few people in TS as independent. I i soon realised that WasteLand isn't for me. So Altis Life got my eye! and I've been playing it ever since. I'd say about 600-700 hours are on StrayaGaming servers alone to be honest Lets talk about where i came from and how i grew up. I originally lived in Melbourne for about 6 years of my life until my dad made the bold decision of moving all the way to Queens Land. We weren't the richest of people so we had to take a 18 hour train ride from Melbourne all the way into Sydney. then had to wait a few more hours to catch the next train to Brisbane. Lets fast forward 6 years cause i can't remember shit within that time frame to be honest. I was going to a nice school in Queens Land that was within a community called Lowood. If you google it you might just be lucky enough to see some Hobo in a ally way shooting up. But that's besides the point here. At this school i met one of my best mates who i still know very well to this day. That mighty fine blokes name is Steven, We became best friends along with two other people who i still know and play ARMA with to this day. @Flex @Bluey Anyway lets fast forward some more, lets say about 5 more years so basically i'll give you a recap of my recent life events cause i feel the need to TBH. While i was living with my dad in Lowood my Pop past away and my father got into a really depressed state and started drinking heavily, He'd come home and start yelling and going off at people for no reason. some stages it got pretty crazy and scary. My best mate Steven who i went to High School with was moving away, very far away in-fact. He was moving to Albury which is on the border of NSW and VIC. So i made the choice of moving away from home and down to Albury where i still live today, Looking back on it i definitely made the right choice considering the situation i was in. We've moved into a nice house and i've got my life together pretty good i'd say. I have a job, I'm studying my year 12. I've spent over $2000 in my gaming setup which is a nice investment i reckon, Anyways people this has been my life story/Boring the shit outta people post. Thanks for reading ayee

1 pointlmao I played rebel for over a year, I see this from both sides. Cops = A rebel logs on 14 minutes into the bank and joins in, cops end up in helpdesk complaining because it isn't what the cops thought was a good understanding of a "rough time of 10 minutes". Rebel = A cop logs on 15 minutes into the bank and no command team is or this "rough" time of 10 minutes turns into 15 and the cop joins in, well the rebel ends up in helpdesk complaining. Keep it simple, either let players join in or not at all, this is similar to the rule of "lets let 2 people from boths side join in" which quickly turned sour.

1 pointJay you have Commissioners and Command who's sole job is to organised response to situations. I Fail to see how a rough time of 10 mins after is something they cannot do.
-
1 pointI disagree...having a cut off point etc will be to much of a hassle for the cops and rebels. I think it's fine the way it is.
-
1 pointRamming is going to introduce more trolls and increase deaths on the roads, besides this is a role-play server does the government allow ramming in any state of Australia? Nope. If this actually gets accepted Straya better accept more help desk applications cause that's all i can see happening tbh.

1 point@insanD back in the day father Yuri and I worked the rules trying to make them with no grey areas, to fix this ramming situation we completely removed it and changed the VDM rule so that people could understand that hitting into someone's on purpose to destroy the vehicle is a problem, but still allowing ramming to happen. We included this in the VDM rule: Vehicle deathmatching is intentionally driving someone over in an attempt to get an advantage over another player during a roleplay situation or causing death, by destroying a vehicle intentionally. E.g. “I ran this person over because I wanted to knock him down so I could get a shot on him because he had a gun”. Vehicle DeathMatch is preferred to not happen. You can do it through a significant Role Play situation. If you're being robbed by someone standing in front of your vehicle, and they threaten your life, you are able to hit the gas. Otherwise, you are to not Vehicle DeathMatch. You may not shoot them at any time. You must continue to flee the scene. If you are knocked over by your own vehicle as you dismount you are fair game to anyone in an active declaration.

1 pointRamming can work - just as long as the rule states that "heavy vehicles i.e. Striders, Hunter, trucks CANNOT ram light vehicles i.e all helis & boats, SUVs, Hatchbacks. Ramming can only be established if it is light vehicle against light vehicle or heavy against heavy." The mods/ admins would need to list and give a classification to all vehicles in the game to stop people using wording as a "loop-hole" in the rules i.e. My car is not listed as a heavy vehicle etc. The rules would also have to work with all and any commonsense and VLR rules - but it would be great to see the change back to ramming under the right rules and word of said rules. @Leopard what do you thing?
-
1 pointWonderful work Excel, loving it so far! Keep it up my man. Keep the suggestions coming, these are all good
-
1 pointNothing wrong with them, they're great people. Just the chav-like accent some of them have.
-
1 pointPeople who steal TeamSpeak Icons and then go to the extent of trying to remake them but completely screw it up.

1 pointCouple of changes tonight: Fixed towing vehicles into VTOL bug. @Matsozetex - https://strayagaming.com.au/forums/topic/9634-glitch-towing-with-hemtt-and-vehicle-blackfish/ Reworked Static Weapon restrictions. Thanks to @Dak Commstar for the suggestion - https://strayagaming.com.au/forums/topic/9666-turrets-for-classes/#comment-42941 All soldiers can assemble Static HMG and GMG turrets. Engineers and UAV operators can assemble Automated Weapons. AT Soldiers can assemble Static AT/AA launchers. The Fire Support Group (FSG) can use any of the above as well as mortars. More to come in the next few days...

1 pointI know this has been brought up before but can we get the SRT Base moved closer to Sydney? To be honest you're better off removing it if you plan on keeping it there... A Potential Spot This spot doesn't get in the way of drug runs or give the SRT an advantage over civ/rebels. @vizzN @Sam I Am @Leopard @ExcelForce @envy @Dusty_Stone

1 point- Market needs a different parking facility. Replace all current parking with one row of parking in the same spot like the old market. - Westpac Bank needs to be a civilian friendly area. Remove all walls, remove the radio tower and anything at all that was placed by the developers OUTSIDE the building. Interior is fine. - Court house safezone changed to green not blue. Court house should be a public zone, all in all safezone. Not just for police. - Remove the Jail safezone. Jail isn't a safezone for anyone hence no need for a blue zone. Perhaps put a KOS cirlce on it. (Thoughts?). - Airdrop map marker needs to resemble KOS. Airdrop is KOS however it is currently a declaration required zone by map. - Casino needs a safezone added. A green safezone should be added to the casino, limited to the buildings perimeter. - Give Neri bank a bit of fine tuning. Neri is a bank, not a paintball arena. Why is there big radio towers? Remove them. Why is there cranes and construction sites and medical bunkers and houses? Not bank fitting at all. The towers on each corner yes, the long buildings that are used for vehicle stores on wasteland kinda fit in and were always there so they don't need removing. - PD less like a military base. A PD that doesn't look like a military base would be nice. The excuse that it would become more troll-able isn't one I believe in, there are plenty of staff who are capable of dealing with players who wish to cause grief to the PD if they so choose to. In saying this, it doesn't mean PD should have everything ripped down and clutter crap everywhere. Nice and simple.
