18 pointsAs of the 20th of March, an entirely new ruleset will be introduced to Altis Life. On this day, the old rule set will become completely void and the new rules will be in full swing. The new rules are virtually the same to the old rules. Just a lot shorter (1000-2000 words instead of 15,000) and less grey areas. The rules were rewritten and restructured with the hope of removing grey-areas, reducing the limits on role-play and making them a heck of a lot easier to read and understand. - S.G Staff

3 pointsI really like the idea off this. However I think it could be changed more to suit roleplay better. If you look at another server, for example. Arma 3 Project Life is a server where you only get pistols as a GD cop, and civs must craft their weapons or buy them of other civs, the medics have proper vehicles and always perform roleplay with injured. Cops don't just get out of their car and RDM someone because they robbed a candy store. As it states on the police database - ALL POLICE SHOULD USE NON LETHAL FIRST IN ALL SITUATIONS CAPTURING CRIMINALS IS EVERY OFFICERS MAIN PRIORITY I do see Altis becoming similar to this and I think we would all enjoy it heaps more At the end of the day if you are here to kill people, head over to wasteland or I&A Just my opinion, cheers.

2 pointsWe will be making some changes. Please feel free to discuss these changes. COP SIDE - Moving Police Checkpoint towards Sydney. (Current location too close to Gang Hideout 1) - All cop items, clothing, weapons and vehicles with cost 25% more. - The Ghost Hawk will be removed. - Introducing the Mk20 with knockdowns for GD within capital cities. - Mk20 will be accessible by Constable+. - When raiding only illegal items will be allowed to be taken. - Removing SPAR 17, Titan MPRL, Mk200 , Cyrus 9.3, Navid, MK-18 Tan and ASP-1 Kir 12.7mm. (All guns will be comped $$$ value) Including all rebel guns being removed - Speedboat Mini to removed. - Removing the 3 life rule SRT REBEL SIDE - Mk 20 will be removed from rebel store. - Armed offroad will be removed. - Kajman is being is being removed. - Removing RPG 42, Cyrus, ASP-1 Kir 12.7mm, Spar 16, SPMG .388, all MX Variants, CMR-76, and Mk1 EMR. (All guns will be comped $$$ value) Including all cop guns being removed. - Crafting to be simplified over time. - IED to be craft-able. - Fed timer to increase to 10 minutes. CIVILIAN SIDE - All legal runs to go up 20%. - All items, weapons and vehicles to go down 25%. NOTE This post may be edited and changed before the release date. So make sure you check in to see any other changes that come up. These changes will be taking affect WEDNESDAY 22ND MARCH 2017. On release we are going to open up a shop where you will be able to sell the guns and vehicles that arn't available in game anymore. After two weeks the shop will be removed and we will be deleting the rest of the guns. SO PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SELL THE GUNS AND VEHCILES WE WILL NOT COMP YOU FOR THEM!

2 pointsTo whom it may concern i am deeply apologetic on my behaviour and anything that ive said i would be deeply appreciative it if we could just put it behind us and move on. I dont believe that it needed to blow out of proportion but i understand that Mitch has the right to do what he wants on how he feels but us having a silly fight on a forums post is very childish of us. I would just like to say sorry for the boys ive kept up and wasted their time. This is not a good representation on who i am as a person IRL and as a member of this community. xox

2 pointsIf I had it my way like a lot of American servers I watch on twitch, they only have like pistols and of course maybe a 5.56 and that's it. There are way to many weapons and that's why it's a shootfest. But we are doing everything we can to sort it out, so bare with us. People should be more than happy with a katiba or lighter. It should be about strategy and actually being a team or playing as one, not here take this 7.62 and wreck everyone in 2-3 shots.

1 pointNot adding fuel to the fire here but just some opinions. First, It's a video game, we're here to have fun, escape reality despite Arma being a semi realistic shooter, no need to get so heated about it. What the developers / managers say is what is going to happen, if it doesn't work out they may change it back, who knows, the staff team is trying to make the experience better for us users, that's why they're here. Personaly, I hope this update fixes up all the bs that occurs in game, wether it be cops get to buy their gear for less than the average rebel/civ/ems or people getting turned over backside with some of the guns rebel have.

Everyone has preferences, everyone has what they enjoy, and everyone believes what they believe, but your post is mostly just opinion, and mitches post is mostly fact. SRT is indeed NOT called every 10 minutes. Cops need the armour they have, purely because there is usually a 1:3 or a 1:4 ratio of civs to cops, the chance of you getting decced on/rdmd etc is actually huge as a cop. From my 10 months of experience as cop, I can confirm this. Cop and rebel are undergoing a huge change, and EMS is getting a touch up soon. I understand your point of view, of EMS being fun, but everyone has what tickles their fancy, be it cop, civ, rebel, cartel, whatever you want, and obviously people will be biased based on what they play, it's just a fact. Mitch is not sitting on his "mighty head". He added to a discussion in a reasonable and calm manner simply stating facts from his side of the fence. + If you play so much EMS, your real concern should be how fast people are dying, and where they are dying. Not how they are dying and who they are dying to. Also, my question to you is if cops should have cheaper gear, where should their main income source be? I've gone a day or two at a time without arresting someone, and the higher the rank you get, the more stuff will cost you. A full set of kit for me costs about 250k, and I'm usually down a mil or so after a day of play. Like I said just my two cents.

1 point@Mitch096 Very valid point, One in which I forgot to cover. I personally think rebels should be changed too What is a rebel? Would it not just be a gang? "Rebels" should be getting lower grade guns too, as you said Mitch, they are usually have low finance, they should not have these 7.62 rifles either. It should be "rebels" use pistols too, and keep their crafting system, they should still be able to craft weapons, in return, cops have an escalation graph for weapons "rebels" are using, they should be able to use a caliber of choice force wide if and when any person is carrying a certain weapon.

1 point@Tempo @Jacob Richardson You have stated greats point which are true about cops and rifles in real life, but I wish to put the glove on the other hand. When was the last time seeing a "rebel" run down the road in full cams with a rifle even more so, when was the last time seeing anyone other than a police tactical unit drive down the road of a town or highway in a military grade armored vehicle? If we go by that train of thinking then, well, rebel would look very differnet and the police, well, chances would leave cop ending up with most likely greater weapons and equipment. The way it should be if we follow closely to real life. The reason for this, the police is a government run and funded department thus more money and great ablity to gain access to weapons. Rebels not as great funding and lower abity to even low grade rifles. The changes to the server are hard cut. That is fine. Many police officers already are looking forward to knock downs. It just means we can waste more of the waste land players time.

1 point@Jacob Richardson, exactly my point. When was the last time you saw a cop run down the street with an automatic assualt rifle? You see cops with the mxm every 5 minutes in sydney. I have never seen a cop with any sort of automatic rifle once in my life. If you're aiming for roleplay the autos need to go. Again, personal opinion.

1 point@DroolingOnU Its a RP server, it 100% should not be bringing people into our community because of the guns we have available. make it that cops have 556 and only SRT get MXM's and rebels best gun the rebels can get is an AK 74 and leave it at that. the fact that we can use LMGs and AK 12s is silly when you think of it from Life POV. the server has become way to KOS, Sydney is a shit show most of the time and then people get upset knowing that things are going to change with guns. I'm looking forward for when this server has proper RP and i think most people would agree.

1 pointOk guys please don't start to argue. This is the tip of the iceberg. That i agree with. These changes are just the start. The issue's that can't be seen is the way the Police Force is carrying out the way they conduct themselves. The biggest issue with the Altis Life sever is lack of ROLE PLAY. Everyone is all about shoot first ask questions later. This expected from Rebels not Police. We don't need all these high end weapons to role play. With the way The Police Force conduct themselves isn't up to staff. This is up to the Commissioner and his counter parts. To be honest this isn't being done well at all. Hence why myself and staff have intervened. Not one person was recommended for the top position so I looked outside the square. This reflex's poorly on the Police and in-turn we are losing members on the server. As you stated @Blackout there isn't enough cops online or higher ups. This is due to 2 reasons in my eyes. 1. People don't enjoy playing cop. 2. It's not about what you know. Its who you know. I can name a lot of our members who have played cop for 100+ hours and still haven't got anywhere due to them not being liked or because they don't have a tick or a shield next to their name. This will stop with a Commissioner who isn't bias and doesn't pick higher ups due to whether they are liked by the SRT guys, but are promoted on there performance and actions they take in game. As for SP, Im not going to build the Altis Life server around these guys. This is the most elite rebel gang we have on our server. Its not up to staff to counter this. It is up to the police force to come up with ways to counter. If I was to make changes around this one gang then the rest of the server would struggle and not enjoy playing. For example, why not try training with SP. I know these guys are always up to help and role play hostage situations. SP used to be asked on a weekly biases to help with training and it worked. @Zehaava I don't do things on the fly. Its being introduced on the 20th due to the prep that needs to go into it. I have multiple staff getting these task done. This takes time and effort. Its not a simple task. If these changes don't work then we will make further adjustments. This is not going to be a one off thing.

1 point@Blackout It's just some adjustments to each side. -BOTH GET M320 AND LYNX -REBELS GET NAVID, COPS GET SPMG -CYRUS COMPLETELY REMOVED -REBELS HAVE MK200, COPS HAVE LIM Could list every single change made for balance, but I don't have to. That's what this patch is for, instead of complaining about it before it's even in effect, wait and see how it is.

1 pointHello, I just want to give a short sitrep on what the go is with the Altis Life server freezing/crashing as often as it does. What we know: From what we have recorded over the last few days, the server freezes between 20 and 80 players. It involves failing to send network messages and swift build up of allocated memory. Sometimes (although very rarely) it can recover from a freeze, however it will usually crash for using up all allocated resources. What we have tried so far: Completely reworked most network based ingame systems to lower the number of messages sent as much as possible (wanted list, gangs and auction house just to name a few). Added support and started using a headless client. The headless client takes a load off the server by doing all database related tasks and runs server based processes (eg: cleanup loop, missions, etc). By doing this we ensure the server can focus on doing what it needs do, instead of spending time on all the things we add on top. Trialed allowing extra memory to be used by the server, but it just made the server take longer to crash after it froze. Trialed custom memory allocators. The crashes were still happening so we reverted back to the original malloc. Running performance server binaries. This means we are a step above the main branch server executable with loads of stability improvements and memory leak fixes, while still remaining playable by main branch clients. What our options are from here: Continue to rework more systems (eg: house crates, dropped items, etc) until we have reworked everything. Sit tight until 64-bit is released and hope it fixes all our problems. Move the server onto a clean host and experiment with that to see if things change. Something you could do while we work this out is update your arma 3 client to the latest performance binary. It may not help at all however if we all try to keep as up to date as possible it could make a difference. Simply download the performance client zip, drag the exe out of the zip, rename it to arma3.exe and replace the arma3.exe in your arma 3 directory with it. The binaries linked above are released by dwarden, a developer at Bohemia Interactive. I understand this is frustrating for everyone who is involved with Altis Life, but if we can all be patient and soldier on for a little bit longer, we will have this fixed up. Regards, Connor

GHOST HAWK? ASSUALT BOATS? 20 COPS VS 10 REBELS? FLASHBANGS? GAS? SUPPRESORS? DRONES? SRT HAVE WAY BETTER GUNS? TITAN AA? RPGS? IEDS? REBELS AND COPS ARE EQUEAL...? STRIDER?
