8 pointsWasteland Revitalization Hey everyone. As some people may have noticed WL has suffered a decline in the last few months due to a number of contributing factors. Today we announce an update that we hope will revitalize wasteland and make the server more fun for everyone into the future and breath new life into WL. So to do this we have gone back to the basics of what makes wasteland fun and attempted to combat the tactics that drive people away from the game-mode. The patch notes will be released when the patch hits but this post will simply outline the goals of the patch and the general methods being used to achieve them. This Update will be fully released next Friday (16/03/18). But in the mean time we will be opening up a public beta/feedback test on the Wasteland test server for the week until the full release to get community feedback and discover bugs that need to be fixed . I would also like to thank @InfamousNova for his help with development! ~What you need to know~ Public Beta: Starting this afternoon! On wl.straya.life:2322 Please Make suggestions based on the beta/anything you believe should be added before the full release and report any bugs you find HERE Bank Wipe: To coincide with the full release of the new wasteland version we will be resetting the database. I will transfer kills/first join stats but all other data such as players, money, garages ect will be wiped to start fresh. This is intended to refresh the economy and even the playing field to give the revitalized server the highest possible chance of success. Feel free to spend your money on the main server between now and then. All data from the beta will also be wiped on full release. Wasteland Veteran: We will be clarifying the requirements for WL vet in the near future to give it more concrete requirements and privileges (more news on this in the next few weeks) Primary Gameplay Changes: Removal of armed drones (some may become token vehicles depending on feedback) Significantly more expensive but stronger vehicles (ie vehicles hard to obtain now but can take more damage ect) Cheaper Player Gear - Guns and armor cheaper to encourage ground combat over vehicles. Token system - Rewarding infantry combat and controlling vehicle spam. Every 10 (may be changed) infantry player kills in a single session you earn a token 1 or more tokens needed to buy the best vehicles (high end jets/helis/tanks) The intention is to make it a complement to money where you have to get infantry kills to have tokens in addition to money to buy the strongest vehicles (can still buy almost all vehicles up to small tanks/armed helis without tokens) Nerfs money farming when no-one is on and means that people cant spam vehicles without also getting player on player kills. Direct kill rewards: Infantry kills will directly award a small amount of money to the killer separate to the money you can loot from their body Easier to finish downed players - You can now finish people you injure by shooting them a few times/reduce their injury time, making it far easier to finish kills outside melee range/running up and finishing them. Also means you can stop revives without having to get dangerously close. Database logging of several player actions to allow more effective identifying of rule breakers ect Reduced number of water missions 2 missions of the same type have a chance to happen at the same time now. AI now smarter but far worse aimers. Resupply trucks resupply faster and dont turn engine off on vehicles and are cheaper, however there is no longer any free rearm vehicles like the bobcat used to be 1 vehicle storage slot instead of 6 to stop mass storing vehicles for a huge advantage. Indestructible automatic resupply truck near each vehicle store Various performance improvements Fancy customizable kill log/feed. Higher Performance + more frequent body/wreckage cleanup Teambalance script (being set to +-2 for now)(currently off on test server) Fresh map

1 pointHey All, We are going to be implementing a new rule to try and simplify declarations and restraining and knocking players out. This is to try prevent issues again in the future in regards to this. The second change is the re-implementation of the rule 9.9 These rules will be in effect as of the 7/3/18 at the 3:00pm server restart. 9.9 - After the detonation of the Federal Reserve Vault, neither party (Rebel or Police) may have any additional people join in to the active robbery. 2.9 - You must declare on a person before you can restrain or knock them out 2.9.1 - Police are exempt from this rule when checking licenses or ticketing. 2.9.2 - Police are not required to declare on rebels in city limits when doing this however it will start a declaration between both parties.

1 pointMany of you don't know me, so I am going to take the time to tell you a bit about the day in a life of kiwisniper. What you are about to read is the truth about me none of which is made up... My days start 1-2 hours after I wake up ( BTW the sleep that leads to me being awake is 2 hours max ) Because that's how long it can take to get my body to finally move, some morning/afternoons depending on when I wake up I may have to use a machine to sstimulate the nerves in my back so that I may be able to move at which point I would come to the office and start checking my emails ( at which I have 5 accounts for diffrent uses ie, gaming, personal, hobby, studio, work, and so forth) and reply to those that need it. I am not working anymore because the condition I am in does not allow me to work, and I am unable to receive welfare as I am a kiwi so I do what odd jobs I can to get money ( mostly IT/PC and Jingle writing and some electronic repairs ). oh did I mention the pain from the moment I awake to the point where I can finally get sleep and that's if I cat get to sleep at all? See I this condition called Fibromyalgia as you may have read in the previous link this is not a nice thing to have there are no drugs that even come close to putting a damper on the pain and there is no way describe the pain either, but I will try, lets start with the fact that when the wind from outside or a fan blows on my legs its like have boiling hot oil poured over my legs while there are a thousand needles pricking me. I am also on a drug the could potentially kill me if the doctor gets the dose wrong and I have a weekly blood test for that. Oh did I mention that I am 38 years old and have to use a wheelie walker to get around, ya not cool for a young guy like me but oh well. I must say I have a really good understanding and loving lady in my life without her I would have been dead the day I finally found out what was wrong with me see to be formally diagnosed with my condition I had to have 8 months of tests and believe me some of the tests I never want to have again. about a year before I found out that I had fibromyalgia I was put into hospital with blood clots in my lungs so that in itself was a shock to the system and then the fibromyalgia. So to recap, I can barely walk unaided, I live with shit loads of pain all day long and live on maybe 7-10hours sleep a week.... so where does that lead to the SG Community? so when I got Arma and had played on the single player missions to the point where I was ready to uninstall it I decide to have a look to see if I can find a decent multiplayer server to play on, the first server I join is StrayaGaming and straight from the get-go I meet Mitch and yes there may be a few of you that don't like him and to be honest at times I felt like jumping in a hunter and running his ass over but I didn't and now im getting side tracked. I use Arma as a way to escape my pain and I have meet a lot of people on the server and a lot I consider to be very close with like brothers. like I said a lot of you don't know me and have probably never seen me in the game at all, you may have seen me at the help desk dealing with your issues, you may have seen me on the police force and if your really good you also may have seen me in with the medics under a different name. I guess what I am saying is SG is like a home away from home, I struggle every day with depression because of the pain I live with and if it weren't for a few member of this community I call home there would have been one less member. 1 pointTesting through some of the vehicles and have tested that the 20mm Auto cannon cannot hull damage any IFV, only Track/Turret/Engine damage. So its a no go for using the AWC against other AFVs, but it seems to be good against ifrits and such. The AWC can sustain .50 APDS and 20mm AP, anything other will kill it. The MGS is resistant to 20mm and 30mm AC fire with 40mm and above killing it. The 120mm/125mm on the MGS and T-140 respectively behave like their current ingame counterparts would. The AWC can be slung by Taru/Huron. "DIS GONNA BE GUD". Prowlers have an AT variant with a Titan, Qillians have a AT variant with a Metis. Slat armor will protect against RPG-eqsue systems. (RPG-42/7, MAAWS, Metis) and HEAT tank projectiles. Slat armor is most effectively defeated via HE (Destroys most of Slat on the vehicle/ side) or Armor piercing (Goes straight through). ERA plating on tanks now can block all kinds of tank ammunition and AT missiles (Slammer UP, Varsuk). T

1 pointupdate #2 So I am still no well and I have been to the hospital for a couple of stays one of which I almost died. my leg is no better then it was when all this started if anything it might even be worse, I am going through a really bad phase of depression again with the pain which has also taken a toll on my appetite as I feel so sick with pain and like I said the depression is pretty bad I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy The following pic is my leg in its current state and some of you may say oh it's not that bad but tell me this would you like it if you couldn't have a proper shower or go swimming, I can't even go out in public for the fear of getting kicked in the leg or getting another infection in it. I guess I just needed to vent a little as I have been locked in the house for so long waiting for the hospital to do something and I think I may have a bit of cabin fever. So like I said if want to view the pic you can ........

1 pointWe are still going to inevitably be shot by gangs who will shoot the MOMENT we restrain someone (regardless of if we say it's for ticketing, and if they do shoot us which would be RDM they would get like a 2 minute ban), plus I can also see it going down this way. > Sir I'm restraining you to check your license > *checks license* > You've come back as wanted and now i'm taking you back to PD. What now? Does me saying that create a dec? Because that isn't a dec, and me restraining them was only for the purpose of ticketing them however - I found other things, does that change the context of the restraint AFTER the fact? I think all in all it's a pointless addition. I think the declaration before knockout was good, but the restraints part makes it far too situational. Plus, if people were going to complain it was a bias rule and be saying "why are police exempt?". The simple solution is give us a way to check licenses without restraining, that way it would look something like this. > Sir can I please see your id > *Checks ID* > Okay sir you've come back wanted and i will now be taking you into custody > *restrains them* THAT order of events there could be considered a hostile action by police from the perspective of a rebel gang and create a dec, but as the rule you've just implemented currently stands, I can restrain someone for the purpose of ticketing them, and then leave after finding out they are wanted with no chance of harm to myself (which if what you're worried about is a bias rule, that's what you have right there).

1 pointCivs at rebel bases get run over, vdmed, restrained all the time and they can't do anything about it. If a civ does something like that to cops, they can do something about it because they don't have safezone restrictions. When I was a trial mod, I received a message about people ****ing around in Cartel. I spent half an hour there just to control the situation and people still ignored me while I was a mod suit. I had to ban a whole gang that night because they wouldn't stop being trolls. If people were trolling in PD, you could easily send them to jail instead of getting a staff member to deal with them. In Sydney, Civs are victims of RDM and VDM more than cops mainly due to the number of civs there are. I've sat on Sydney Bridge with a few others and have been a victim and witnessed multiple RDMs/VDMs within an hour and it was all civ on civ, no cops involved. I'm not saying this happens all the time, but you do get shot at cops for being in an area, even if you're unarmed and haven't done anything wrong or suspicious. As a civ you are up against trolls and trigger happy cops who can't roleplay properly. As a cop you are only up against trolls. It's not bullshit when I say civs have it harder. When I started on this server, I only played cop and rarely hopped on civ. Towards the end of my time as Commissioner, I played civ for a couple weeks and experienced first hand the countless complaints I've received about the state of cops. Questioning someone because of the name above their head and the gang they're associated to is metagame. You don't know any of that information in character and most of the time people do it just to arrest them.
