I'd like to open a discussion on the system which assigns jets. Unless the probabilities have changed since I saw them a few months ago, a pilot must be in something like the top 25% of transporters for it to even be possible to receive a top tier jet. I would link them, but I can't seem to find the page. I can see why rewarding the diligent team-supporting work of transporting troops should be rewarded, but I would argue that a good number of transport pilots rarely, if ever, fly jets. That means a chunk of that top 25% is occupied by people who don't make use of that reward, pushing everyone else down the list. And that's before mentioning that for the few hours I am able to play a week, as much as I enjoy transport flying, the role I enjoy most is jets. So no chance of keeping up with the leaderboard, and when I do get a fighter slot then I'm stuck trying to fight off stealth Shikras with a Buzzard. And surely that must be true for other people too. So what are your thoughts? Could there be an alternative reward for pilots? Could there be better access to higher tier jets for those who only have a short time in which to zoom zoom?

Space Engineers Update, Second Server and Giveaway! Update Information: Since the re-launch of our Space Engineers server two weeks ago, we have seen an explosion of interest in the gamemode, with the 50 slots sitting near full on most nights on the week. To ensure our player's experience remains smooth and as enjoyable as possible, we have released a second 32-slot server with a custom solar system and increased ore deposits. You can find both servers by searching "straya" in the server browser. New Commands: To assist with lag and make the transfer between the two servers as easy as possible, several commands have been added to allow players to switch servers and easily save and load ships between them. The new commands are as follows: !savegrid <grid name> Stores your grid to your virtual garage, whereby you can pull it out on the other server. !garage Shows all grids currently stored in your garage. !loadgrid <grid number> Withdraw a grid from your garage. !switch me Transfers you to the other server. Space Engineers Giveaway: To celebrate the release of our second Space Engineers server, we are giving away FOUR COPIES of the game to FOUR lucky community members. To enter, reply to this thread with the phrase: "The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire." The giveaway will close and be drawn on the 27th of September at 21:00 AEST. If you have any questions or require assistance storing and retrieving a grid, please give @James32 @bodyboarder2528 or myself a yell and we can assist you.

Side Mission Dilemmas Typically when the Side Mission is completed if you don't call dibs or if you don't hustle your ass over to the reward someone else will take it. To create a new way of solving this problem you could implement a system much like the current transport point scheme where if you are within 2km's of the Side Mission when it completes you earn points. You could them implement a system like what Altis Life has when you buy vehicles from a terminal and have options to utilise those points gathered and a vehicle spawns on a selected location. Obviously, a Prowler AT could only be like 10 points for say but a Armed Blackfish might be 100 and, at the end of every side mission you could only get lets say 90 points based on the average completion rate of the Side Mission the points can vary. For instance, the Enemy Regenerator could only give 60 points as it is fairly easy but, the Rescue POW as it has a 22% completion rate could give 120 points. This would also give incentive for users to complete harder missions and join with other users to complete it. One problem that may be faced is that if 2 people complete the Side Mission cooperatively then effectively they will receive double the standard points and be able to spawn two rewards. To solve this issue you could add a point-transfer system which allows users to transfer a selected amount of points to another user to they can together get a reward to share. So less points per completion but can share points. Another way to solve this issue is to have a rate of change on the points received, compared to the amount of people completing the Side Mission compared to its difficulty. To show an example of how this system might work. Thanks for reading if you got this far....
