4 pointsRecently, we added back in gang funds. This was abused by a select few and it was removed the next week. Simple. This week, we have added in body looting. Removing limitations on RP is always something I personally endeavour to do and I believe so do the rest of the staff. Body looting has a dark past. That is all I will say of it. It is being given another go on the server, BUT. If this is abused in anyway shape or form that causes an issue on the server. It will be removed either in a hot-fix or the next update. Simple. IF THIS IS ABUSED - IT WILL BE REMOVED - SIMPLE

1 pointWhy hello! I guess i can say I'm the acting CEO of AInc, my name is Sam and i have something to put to you all. Now this subject will interest some people I'm sure. I know we made a discussion some time ago of us coming back but that fell through. This time though, i have a feeling that we have the potential to come back (and hopefully to the fighting capacity of what we once were). I am aware that there are a lot of new players, also groups/gangs on the server that probably have no idea who AInc is. SO! Who are we exactly? I'm probably not the best person to explain it to you all, but i will to my best. On second thought, i'll just grab a comment made by a former squad leader of AInc KennyBoos post about this some time ago. "Acquisitions Incorporated started off as a Logistics Company. We are simply just a group of honest, hardworking people taking on honest jobs such as the mining of salt, glass and diamond. These jobs or operations involve the use of very huge and expensive assets. Being a big and I would say well-off group, we were often targets for local rebels to make a quick buck. As such, we would hire external contractors to provide private security for us. However, due to the fact that they were external, most of the time, these contractors proved inefficient and we would end up losing our assets, and the company was make huge losses. As a countermeasure to our losses, our CEO - Stalker, together with the team managers sat down, discussed and decided to start up a Security Division. The Security Division comprised of AInc's best men. They were well-trained, well-disciplined and well-respected. Initially, the security division was only meant for company operations. But soon after, Altians started to see the increasing presence of AInc's large convoys moving freely within Altis, together with it's Security Division as rebels and thieves feared coming back out on the streets. From then on, AInc's Security Division started getting calls from other company's and at times even the Altian Government." - KennyBoo I hope that gives you a little bit of sight into what we were. If not i'll add my own quick two cents to this. AInc is a Civilian Contractor group that in a whole; its aim is to stem the tide of rebel activity and make Altis safe once again, to help new players have a strong footing in their start and make it an enjoyable place for them to be. I'll be pushing for AInc to go for a more Role-Play style of gameplay rather than the usual - "ayyyyy i see a rebel he's dead". By writing this post this is by no means a 100% "yes we're coming back" but its more of a "hello, is it me you're looking for"...not really but you get the point. It's to see if the Admins/Moderators/Police Force/Cartels/Rebel Gangs/Regular Civs would like us to make a return. To the new players - who haven't seen AInc in action, hopefully one day you might get to see AInc back in its old glory. If you have any questions just jump on down to the Acquisitions Incorporated Channel in the Civilian Contractors section in teamspeak and if I'm there just hit me up, i'll be more than happy to have a chat and get to know you and answer any questions you have for me. To the old players - Don't worry we wont be doing any security checks for some time, as much as i enjoy them. My aim is to see where you are all at, and to see how we will fit in with the few players that i remember. Would you like to see that happen? I have noticed that there have been some new Civilian Contractor groups popping up which is great to see! But heed my warning; AInc will set the bar once again on how Civilian Contractors are to operate. This is not a stab at anyone, I'm just warning you, this will happen. SO! Here we are at the end of my little speech. If you've made it this far i thank you. It means you have given what i said some thought so far at least, and i would love to hear your opinions on this matter. Thank you all for your time, Sam

1 pointThis would be difficult if impossible to enforce. This is due to the lowest ranking officers (the up to 4 non-whitelisted recruits) being issued only with non-lethal weapons (taser pistol and Taser Rifle). So you're asking us as cops to not allow them into a combat zone, despite from what you've said them being the ones to stop you at great risks to themselves? The logistics of it makes it difficult as each of these recruits is partnered with a whitelisted officer armed with lethal weapons, so that's 8 officers you want to keep out of combat or delay their arrival until they drop the recruit back at PD? Sounds like those recruits deserve Commissioner's Commendations, not to be punished by a change to the ruleset to not allow them to take part in firefights. -Superintendent SOB, GD Commander.

1 pointAltis Life - A Change In The Declaration System Quite simply, side chat declarations are nothing but a mess. People find it hard to perfect the actual declaring, often getting called out for a fail declaration because one letter wasn't a capital.... This is changing, There is currently two options to replace side chat declarations, Option A. Names will be visible via scroll, if anybody played ArmA3 a few years back it was like this default in the game. With these names you must declare via email, declarations will be similar however just wont have to include the location of the person, the vehicle etc. In before everybody claims meta-game and what not, this is not giving the person declaring or the person being declared on an advantage, this is all but meta-game. Sure, you have found out the name. But. You are no longer broadcasting your location to the whole service (Which although is not meta-game has a more detrimental effect on the server). Getting names then emailing is no worse than declaring to the whole civilian faction. Names must still be achieved via RP in person, wether this be when you're robbing them "This license I found in your backpack has the name Father Yuri on it, is this you?" Following up from the rule, ID is a staple item and you cannot RP you don't have one. Pros: Declarations will always go to the correct person. Extremely low chance of confusion or missed declarations. Cons: Declarations from further ranges. - Side chat declarations are practically do-able from any range. The scroll name would most likely be limited to 500m. Option B. All declarations must be done in direct voice chat. I have seen this done on a server when Arma3 first removed the scroll names, it worked well. This encourages face to face RP rather than long distance declare and kill. The only thing that makes this difficult is the limitations it puts on declaring on vehicles in helicopter/car/truck pursuits. As well as the potential confusion of players not hearing the declaration. Pros: Face to face Role-play. Cons: Range on direct voice and issues created when attempting to declare on a helicopter or other vehicles. ------------------------------------------------------- I ask that everybody involved with Altis or who has experienced Altis in some way votes. This is a pretty big change to Altis Life however I feel which ever option wins, it will still benefit the server. - Leopard

1 pointHi Lads, We've had some bans issued by the staff team recently that we don't wish to issue but it was a must. So I thought I would write something for all of the community, about the community and something for us all to dwell on. Your Community is a community built by you the Players / Staff and Developers. This is a place where you can join after having a big day at school or work or a place you can escape the world we live in. It is a place where you can become someone else. On this Community, I am LuckyB33f, Founder of Straya Gaming. But in real life I am Jason, The Handyman/Storeman/whateverelsemytitleis. This is the same as my Managers, Admins and Mods. We are here to become something else and not who we always are. Our private life is to stay private. As that isn't who we are on here. If you want to be a troll then that is fine but you'll find yourself out of the community faster and less enjoyable. We as a community must continue to grow as we grow more servers, We have plenty of options for the future, We will need more people able to help make new game servers who are dedicated. You all as a community will look back at this one day and say I helped build this community when it was only small. Right now we are the largest Arma3 community in Australia. We started as 5 players. Look at us now. I truly can say this has been one of the best experiences i have had in my life so far (the army was overrated). And we are just getting started lads. Cheers LuckyB33f

1 pointI've not been in this community for long, only a few months, so I thought I'd offer my thoughts as a fresh perspective. Also, since LuckyB33f did it, I'm a Mid-30's IT Manager called Travis so any military game is very far removed from my real life! StrayaGaming is in my opinion one of the most developed and welcoming Australian gaming communities I've been part of, even with the diverse range of ages in the community. While some may argue this point, in my experience the general level of maturity in SG players is higher than many other communities I've been in before. I see the staff in StrayaGaming giving more of a damn about the servers and community than I've seen in other communities I have been part of. I've regularly seen (I'm a semi-regular I&A Pilot/Medic/AT, sometimes Wasteland cannon fodder, and occasional Rust player) Mods and Admins educate and counsel new players on the rules in a way that is often quite polite and respectful. I've also seen the Mods and Admins be quite patient with players ignoring rules then enforcing the rules when needed. It's not all perfect obviously, as someone learning to play Rust I was saddened to see the server activity drop off rapidly at the end of the year. But overall this is a great community. But don't take my word for it, and don't take what you have for granted. Contribute, engage and support StrayaGaming.
