    Before i get into the main topic of the post, i'd like to explain the Island of Altis. Altis is at civil War, Its the Rebels vs Police, It is a war-torn island that is constantly facing rebel attacks, robberies, kidnappings, Drugs problems, and murder. SERT is constantly called in Sydney, and Banks are constantly going off. Now we know Altis's situation lets have a look at Neri and Westpack. Westpack, Is a bank in the middle of the most crime-ridden city of the island, Sydney, Yet the bank itself has no protection, has no security, has literally nothing. A civilian with a Rook 9mm can rob the place(probably not gonna live for the following reasons) Someone robbing Westpack can be rushed my police and never get a chance to protect himself, Why? Because the bank has no security, has nothing to hide behind, the only thing he can go behind is the desk hes robbing, which can be shot through by the cops MXM's, this bank and Neri's ' bank ' are not banks at all, they are robbable desks that are called banks on the map. Now you'd THINK a place like altis, where people are getting mugged and shot just down the street from Westpack BANK would have some sort of vault, armoured room, some sort of SECURITY. Not just a Wall bangable desk. Neri can also be wall banged. The fact is now the Federal Reserve has more security than Neri and Westpack, yet the Fed is more likely to pay out SO MUCH MORE, we had a group of 7 in NTR get a 5 million EACH after completing a Fed, Why? ITs got places to place protection, places we can set up to defend, places you can't just get shot thru, and thats that. The banks are terribly broken, earlier I did a test, and another one I recorded, Every time I am rushed by cops that just shoot the table and hope to kill someone, which they did. Bank over, now people have to wait 1 hour to hit it again. Thoughts? Its as easy as the GIF i posted to stop a bank.

    This seems like the best idea to me, not that I think the cartel idea won't work, I just think moving the teller every restart or even every second keeps everything fresh for everyone.

    Hello, I just want to give a short sitrep on what the go is with the Altis Life server freezing/crashing as often as it does. What we know: From what we have recorded over the last few days, the server freezes between 20 and 80 players. It involves failing to send network messages and swift build up of allocated memory. Sometimes (although very rarely) it can recover from a freeze, however it will usually crash for using up all allocated resources. What we have tried so far: Completely reworked most network based ingame systems to lower the number of messages sent as much as possible (wanted list, gangs and auction house just to name a few). Added support and started using a headless client. The headless client takes a load off the server by doing all database related tasks and runs server based processes (eg: cleanup loop, missions, etc). By doing this we ensure the server can focus on doing what it needs do, instead of spending time on all the things we add on top. Trialed allowing extra memory to be used by the server, but it just made the server take longer to crash after it froze. Trialed custom memory allocators. The crashes were still happening so we reverted back to the original malloc. Running performance server binaries. This means we are a step above the main branch server executable with loads of stability improvements and memory leak fixes, while still remaining playable by main branch clients. What our options are from here: Continue to rework more systems (eg: house crates, dropped items, etc) until we have reworked everything. Sit tight until 64-bit is released and hope it fixes all our problems. Move the server onto a clean host and experiment with that to see if things change. Something you could do while we work this out is update your arma 3 client to the latest performance binary. It may not help at all however if we all try to keep as up to date as possible it could make a difference. Simply download the performance client zip, drag the exe out of the zip, rename it to arma3.exe and replace the arma3.exe in your arma 3 directory with it. The binaries linked above are released by dwarden, a developer at Bohemia Interactive. I understand this is frustrating for everyone who is involved with Altis Life, but if we can all be patient and soldier on for a little bit longer, we will have this fixed up. Regards, Connor

    @DIRTYSCRUB It has been addressed with price balancing after the wipe... and for the reference only about 180-200 of my all time kills are from mortars. The amount of money everything in the game gives has been halved making vehicles effectively >twice as expensive when you take into account most of the price changes. And given they have the money to afford it players should be able to buy whatever they want with the money, be it helis, jets, mortars or tanks, they are part of the game, arma isn't ground/close combat only, it's a diverse game where a range of tactics can be used and every tactic has a counter-play if you are effective enough to find it!

    Putrid is all i can say. At least we know how @James32 & @Assassin got a place in the top 10. With their spamming of Orca's, AI's and Mortars. Youse aren't the only ones though. For once I can agree with you, solid points. @BulletL @Unit_3397 @Dak Commstar This is the real problem that needs addressing... including the spam use of orcas, AI's and mortars.

    Pezza's idea sound like one that would work really well and is something which would not only change things for cops but rebels as well e.g forcing them to find new angels to protect teller or spray down cops

    Maybe something like the Teller changes places each restart? Each time it goes to a different floor, maybe in the back building (neri). This will increase the RP scenario that the cops have to find where it is and they can't just wallbang it and kill you. Maybe in Fed it changes Dome that the gold is in, this will again make the Robbers and the Cops have to look harder for what they're trying to find. EDIT: Also this way the cops have to treat every floor that it's the Teller. This is to replace them rushing all the stairs then once they get to the 3rd floor flashing and running.

    I think what we really need to do is think outside the box here. 'My recommendation is that the PD starts using Cartels and asking them to sign up Contractual defence agreements. Gangs like EV seem to be ready and willing to cooperate with police; and until the police are adequately equipped to deal with criminal elements themselves, we need help of groups like EV. So if we sign them up for long term defence contracts, this is not only going to protects banks better, but also increase RP. You're killing two birds with one stone. It's a win win for everyone.

    But they said remove Jets because they are so OP, can only be purchased from one place, are extremely vulnerable while rearming, need to constantly relocate to avoid AA, require flight skills and aim. But let's leave the mortar.

    You say you want RolePlay, right? So, SRT means you get 3 lives, is that RolePlay? You hit a FED and when they die they head to Gold Bars Buyers, is that RolePlay? Would it then hurt the 'RolePlay' if we had access to Higher caliber weapons than 7.62mm. It doesn't make sense, you can't allow cops to fail 'RolePlay' with SRT 3 lives and then not allow us to not have access to higher than 7.62mm caliber because you believe you want 'RolePlay'. In my opinion cops have 3 lives for SRT isn't really 'RolePlay'. Giving rebels access to higher than 7.62mm weapons IS 'RolePlay' as in the REAL world you would be able to buy it on the black market. If you're not gonna give rebels access to weapons other than 7.62mm which you deem 'no RolePlay', how it SRT 3 lives 'RolePlay' ?? Explain?

    Alright right now i feel like we need to just come up with a decision there is no point in everyone just attacking each other. My say is we have a gun store and im sure 79 people r backing me up on this. Your idea of 60+ i belive should be added as it would stop people from gearing up when everyone else is offline also stated by @LuckyB33f. Also woudnt mind the store changing location every restart inside the kos, that could change it up a bit and not make it repetative. And even add some more role play rules to balance the server with killing and RP. Do you think thats good, i just want everyone to stop fighting as its getting no one any where and will just build tension on the servers. p.s. add hello kity skin 4 strider <3
