My only concern with this is that while Cops/Medics get to keep their rank and access to gear, contractors and rebels are going to have to work from the ground up. Look how long it took cops to attain their rank, it is the same for how we accrued our money/items. You take away our resources and their implodes contractors, and possibly rebels. As I see it, there are two better options: 1. A complete wipe that includes removing APD and APS ranks. 2. Keep APD & APS ranks, and bank balance. Completely wiping would destroy some of the small, and large groups who actually contribute to the role-play on the server. If we are going to go down the wipe everything route, then it should be wipe everything.

If you are looking to make the server balanced after the reset while still maintaining all police ranks, you could potentially put a lock on all non-standard police gear for 2-4 weeks until the civilian side has had a chance to rebuild the same grade of equipment. This would allow the police to not lose their ranks which they've worked on for months to attain, while still allowing civilians to have a fair chance at getting to a level where they can match the polices level of force when it comes to tougher situations. The primary issue of having a reset while still allowing one faction to have instant access to high level gear is if a group of rebels or criminals plan to have a big gathering operation to gather resources or money illegally, the police can pull out a unmatched arsenal of gear and immediately wipe them back to 0 gear with little consequence, whereas if the police have the same level of gear then if offers a chance for both sides to have a fair fight.

If they leave the server because they've just lost their items and gear, then they probably weren't that invested in the server anyway and would have left regardless.

Would make things interesting to do a full wipe, Perhaps if you guys do wipe the server, Make a large update come out on the day of the wipe, Like those Tiered air drops and capture point towns etc everyone is always going on about.

As a new play that has played for a few days on this server as I just got the game on a sale, playing on this server is a constant cycle of being arrested by cops for petty crimes and fined ridiculous amounts of money to avoid jail time and then having to grind more money only to have it stripped away from you by a thief in a unmanned police checkpoint. I can't seem to make enough money to compete with other players perhaps i'm just unlucky, but at this rate the server is a turn off for me and other newbies out there trying to make a name for ourselves and I think this wipe will help even out the board for all of us. For those who play Rust would know that those who drop the most time have all the stuff to squash the little ones who haven't had the chance to put in the time, its why they have implemented a wipe system to even out the game for everyone. I'm not asking for regular wipes I'm just pointing out that now may be a good time to wipe so that the new guys from the sale can have a fair go at playing on this server and have an enjoyable time while their there. Did I mention it cost me 2mill for a house license before buying a property I haven't even gotten enough to pay for 1/2 that amount jeez!!! I understand why the police do the things they do but stripping me of my meagre wealth, possessions and licenses means I can't afford to travel or have the means of protection to defend myself from much more wealthy and well equipped thieves and robbers and if the police are too busy trying to find an excuse to arrest for "illegal u turn on a patch of grass in the middle of god knows where" then what am I to do a person trying to RP as a law abiding citizen trying to earn some income. I can't seem to decide which is worse thieves camping sites stealing your hard earned cash or cops pulling me over for not for having a vest with pockets while a kidnapping is taking place 200m downs the road. Godbless medics let them keep their ranks if they have them they are the only truly good human beings out there. This is my experience and opinions I have developed as a newcomer to this server whose played a nearly a week now on the server sry if it went a little off topic but I hope you can see what I'm trying to say.

i hope there is a full server wipe . every single piece of duped gear will be gone

To be fair the way things have been headed kills the playerbase anyway. No new players seem to be able to make the gap from newgame to endgame without assistance. Big clans are all well funded and have everything they need, I feel like a wipe is exactly what 2/3rds of the server needs. You can't keep a server happy by simply feeding the old players and leaving nothing for the new ones.

Hey Everyone, Following the community meeting a couple of weeks ago and the recent forum post we have been giving consideration to the idea of an economy wipe. So now we wish to gauge the opinion of everyone by putting this poll to the community as a whole and giving everyone an opportunity to vote on it. If we were to wipe the economy, it would be a full wipe, inclusive of licenses, money, proficiency, houses, inventories, lockers and vehicles. You can also rest assured that we will not be making any changes to white listing levels of police or medic. Currently we do not have a timeframe for the wipe as we wanted to look into the impact and pros/cons very carefully before a decision is made, subsequently it will likely not occur for a while. If we were to go ahead with the wipe, you can also expect to see some changes to the balance of the server and economy.

You know what my point there is tho.

You'd go with the majority. If 51% says yes then you'd want to, since the majority would be happy ergo keeping more players. I'm not advocating doing it if there is a 51%, but that's just how I see it.

But speaking on Balance, I personally believe the amount of Verona AT Gunners needs to be decreased exponentially. Despite tanks being the theme of the dlc, as soon as you get into an AO, a single Verona kills ya after firing a few shots. @Fitz

One of the benefits of the server wipe would that it allows us to reshape and mold the server to fit our vision and the communities vision more so than it currently does. The whole thing is simply conceptual at this current point in time and no definitive decisions have been made to whether we proceed or not, what we would be changing on the server and how we would do things moving forwards. You can expect to see large changes in the economy, with items more accurately representing their use and a more accurate scaling in terms of effectiveness of items to their pricing. This would also apply to things such as runs. I also understand that there is a concern that if we were to reset the server economy there would be an imbalance in the favor of the police side. There are no definitive decisions on how to address this at the current point in time. However I can assure you measures would be put in place to address this and create a smoother transition and beginning to all players on the server.

@Caiden Cons for the wipe from a cop point of view -Although a rebel load out is more than a cops a cop is re-buying his gear approx 5 times a day.. So cops are going to be spending more than earning in relation to rebels. -Rebels can do drug runs and earn large profits, cops only earn money from tickets and bounties which in syd are at $200000 max. -A full economy wipe will mean that SRT cannot get geared up to their current level to aid at banks. -Detectives will have to scrap their entire house database which has taken over 5 months to get to where it is. -New officers wont be able to receive enlistment bonuses as academy officers wont have the money to share -The APD will have to terminate contracts as the APD wont be able to afford them. -An economy wipe will make some officers quit as they have worked hard for their equipment and locker items. -POLAIR assistance will be limited as with a limited bank account officers wont buy a heli over a gun. Don't act like rebels are the only ones who would be affected by an economy wipe. Despite all this the wipe DOES need to go forward, Managers ( @Lotza ) will just need to be very careful how they execute it.

How bout we add some well needed and long awaited server suggestions before we decide to commit genocide to the entire server
  19. 1 point
If you must wipe at please only wipe Vehicles and House. Please Don't wipe peoples bank accounts. i've spent over a year earning my money and if it were to be taken away i think a lot of people would quit and find another server.

I believe an economy wipe would give another reason to play the game. All players on the server grind to earn money until they reach a suitable amount for them e.g. 20-30 million. Once this is reached players stop trying to earn money without spending and focus on spending their money to earn money such as buying guns to a rob bank. A full economy wipe would be very interesting as it would allow the meta at banks to change as the weapons to start with will be of a smaller caliber and civilians, rebels and cops will value their equipment more as it will become difficult to replace. If the money was wiped along with houses you would need to agree on a starting money for all players. I think the current starting money is too low unless the entire economy system was deflated which would make $250000 a very comfortable amount of money. Overall I am in support of a economy wipe.

Hi @Fusionable, thanks for taking the time to reply. I totally agree with your point about implementing the player suggestions first, and then determining exactly what we need to wipe. What are your thoughts in regards to my comment about resetting the APD & APS? In my opinion, the APS has gone incredibly stale, and those who I've talked to have complained bitterly about the promotion system. Players who play consistently with good role-play are stuck in low positions while those who are in the senior ranks play inconsistently and usually just hop on to make some money or troll us contractors... The APD is better managed, kudos to @Augnov and his cabinet for that, but I do find that there are many people in the mid-level ranks (Senior Constable - Sergent) who are only there for the 'frags' and the money. When I hand rebels/items into the cops, I often find the pubslots are the best role-players, and actually respond to authorization requests. What are your thoughts? Am I right or am I seeing a non-existent problem? @Fusionable

Hey guys its your number one Wasteland admin here. With all the changes wasteland is going through we have decided to freshen up the server rules as they are long overdue for it. Below I have detailed the changes to WL server rules. A full post of wasteland server rules can be found HERE Added 17. Money Missions - If multiple parties finish an AI mission, you are required to share the money with everyone involved. If the money is not shared and both parties cannot come to an agreement, the money will be removed by an admin. 11. Body Looting - Once you have died, and your items are on the ground, it is officially free for anyone to take. It is however considered polite to allow friendlies to retrieve their gear should they ask. However, if you were already in close proximity to a fallen ally and couldn't help them in time, you are not to touch their gear. Doing so will result in disciplinary action. - waiting for a friendly to die in order to collect their loot is a punishable offense. Modified 2. Admin Decisions - Complaining in chat or speaking rudely to an admin on Teamspeak will only make your situation worse. If you think a staff member's actions are unjust, please send a message to the current wasteland manager &/or the Staff Manager. Or file a staff report on the forums. These messages are kept strictly confidential. - An admin's decision is final, if you believe the decision was in error put in a ban appeal. 3. Spamming - Spamming chat after being asked to stop by others/a staff member may result in a kick or your access to public chat channels being rescinded. 5. Offensive Language - StrayaGaming is a community with a variety of all genders, races and ages, please respect that. - Repetitive directed abuse towards other players is entirely unacceptable behaviour, and may result in disciplinary action. - This includes any community guideline breaches. 9. Team killing [Rule moved from #11 to #9] - Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES do you ever teamkill, If you are caught intentionally team killing another player it will result in disciplinary action. 10. Team Damaging / Stealing [Rule moved from #12 to #10] - Damaging friendly assets and / or stealing from your teammates is not allowed, if you are caught damaging or stealing friendly vehicles you will receive disciplinary action. 12. Indie group hunt [Rule moved from #13 to #12] - Independents that use the group system to locate people then kill them will result in disciplinary action. 13. Using objects to block missions [Rule moved from #14 to #13] - Do not under any circumstance place objects on top or around a mission to stop it functioning. Do not fully obstruct roadways used by missions, always have gaps in any barriers/walls for mission vehicles to pass through. 15. Sky Bases [Rule moved from #17 to #15] - Sky Bases are, hence the name, bases built up in the sky, out of reach and/or view of other players. Skybases are permitted if and only if they are connected all the way to the ground with base parts or are below 150m above terrain level. 9. Ignoring mods and admins [Rule combined into rule #14] - This is Trolling / Greifing / Being a dick and CAN result in a PERM BAN. Removed 10. Being Kicked - If you have been kicked, it means you were caught breaking some form of rule or common courtesy and are now sitting on ultra-thin ice. Consider re-evaluating your decisions and taking another read of these rules. 16. Being Kicked to Independent - Simply enough, If you have been kicked to the indie team, consider yourself lucky you have not been banned for breaking some form of rule or common courtesy.

@Joshua_ I can not confrim anything fully, but from what i am aware of along with the economy wipe, everything such as licenses and prices of drugs/legal items will be decreased meaning that it is quicker and more efficient for rebels, contractors, civilians and cartels to build a economical base. My opinion on this wipe is yes too carry forward a full economic wipe, but prior to the wipe add more engaging, fun and money efficient missions to Rebel, Contractor, Cartel and Civilian. Such as some of the stuff discussed in the community meeting; Capture points, higher valued airdrops, etc. We have hundreds of posts regarding these NECESSARY additions, and at this stage i believe we should be considering the implication of these new missions/tasks rather than a wipe and after we can then consider a wipe.
