10 pointsI believe in many things. I believe in fairness. I believe in an equal go for everyone, regardless of who they are. I believe in rules, and justice, and hard work. All of this is why I play Cop, and why I became Staff. I believe in protecting the weak, against bullies and abuse. I will do so till the end of my days. All of this brings me to my next point. I am well equipped mentally to do all this. I work hard to make sure, with @Roger Purple that all of the above is done. To that end we are announcing an amnesty on duped/glitched gear that runs from the moment I post this till 12 midday Sunday 29th. You have till then to own up, and surrender to us for destruction or retasking any items you know or feel may be less than legit. We will be merciful on those who do so. You will be spoken with, and may be on watch list moving forward but you have my word as a gentleman you will not be banned. And my word is iron. After the Sunday deadline passes, we will be redoubling our efforts into removing cheaters and exploiters. Surrender the gear. Stop breaking the rules. Or like the 14 others we have found this month, be removed. All surrendering and talks will be held in confidence. Come speak with us. If we have to come find you after the deadline, well, it's too late for talk. -Spec

2 pointsI personally like the feel that the weather brings to the game However in saying that, my frames do drop from 60+fps to around 30 and ive heard other players with decent (**Cough Cough** AMD *cough*) cards only get around 10 - 20fps Would love to see it stay but to prevent people smashing their screens in frustration i think it may need to be toned back But definitely Keep the night cycles! Keeps the Challenge alive!

2 pointsG'day All Just have been reading over this post and thought I should show you some history of the Police on the server. Back in October 2015 when I first came to this community the cops where struggling to have more than 8 players online for more than an hour at at time. Rebels and Civs where running wild, Sydney was over run all the time with rebels, It did not help that most of the police force would log off as cop and go as rebel to cause the problems for who ever was left on as cop (mostly pub-slots) no one above the rank of Sargent was online to support the lower ranks. People would bait the cops in to shoot outs knowing that 4 pub-slots with tazers was an easy battle to win. In October 2015 a rework of the police force was requested by the community, but the commissioner at the time saw no problems with the police force. As you can read for yourself in Rework the cop force post. I was asked to run the police force (by the founders of the community) shortly after a few more complaints about the way cops where operating, my goal was to restructure the command, ranks, training, operations, tactics, roleplay and to bring numbers up in the police force. In the 1st month of me taking over I threw out the old police database and started over from scratch, started training sessions, and restructured the command of the police force. The old commanders did like that and tried to vote me out, As you can read in the Cop Commissioner post. Over the past 6 months the police force has changed, numbers are up to the point there are over 10 cops online each day, communications are better using the 10-codes and not a screaming match over teamspeak, training is conducted to help players roleplay better think better and use tactics, teamwork is more impotent than solo rambo cops doing there own thing, cops are using the database as a main reference for all police information and not making up stuff as they go along, more command cops are online to support the lower ranks, dispatch and coordination is a lot better, Rebels and Civs are not running as wild as they where before (apart from the odd trolls), and as a whole the server is better than it was before. The foundation I made for the police force has worked and others have helped build that foundation up to make the police force better (Spectral, Roger Purple, Brutalforthepizza, Delta, Masin, 2muchKFC, Rambo and others) but we still have more to do with training, communications, tactics, new recruits, roleplay and a few other areas of improvement. And we are working on that, the police force has come a long way in 6 months, and in the next 6 months will be a lot better. I have done my main goal for the police force in laying a foundation for others to build on. I am very proud of what I have done for the police force, even prouder the way others have embraced my work and continue to build on what I have done. All involved are making this police force the best on any server.

1 pointI was thinking that if it was possible that we could have a RESET TO DEFAULT button on the Settings for View Distance setting for the iPad on wasteland just a suggestion tell me your thoughts. Thanks -Excel

1 pointGreetings, It seems to go without saying, the current wasteland tablet is fairly outdated, so today we've been working on a new Player Menu tablet we'll- if all going well -be including in the next Wasteland Update. Nothing major, or secretive, so with consent I've included a wee time lapse for the extra curious >;). This isn't the absolute final design, and quite a few changes are expected to be made before it's installed.

1 pointCop force going great. I know the Comms are a tonne better then the old server I used to go on. And I understand people like to keep banter to a minimum but there are also quite a few who enjoy the banter and while playing everyone had to remember it's just a game. To me I have 3 main goals and I think that they are pretty good, if anyone has other goals I would like to hear them: 1. Have fun (so cliche) 2. Don't get banned 3. Do good teamwork and beat the rebels Boys, I love good Comms, but to me there is a point where it's too far, it also depends on the nature of the night, the imsituation and amount of officers. One of the best banks I have ever done we had about 8 officers, Comms were reasonable clear but jokes were being well placed throughout our battle, people realised when to shutup and in the spare time when no one else was talking there might be a witty remark. This works really good with 6-10 officers whom have self control, but we do need to know, battle messages take priority. By the end of that bank everyone was relaxed, laughing and high fiving how well we smashed the rebels. By contrast with 20 cops on, while I believe there is still room for a few jokes they need to be quick and not obstruct the Comms for more then 10 seconds, due to the fact there's normally 3 lines of communication at once. I have a pet hate with shouting because it doesn't accomplish anything (other then Ingame for roleplay), but hey it happens, atleast it seems we have gotten rid of some of the worst offenders. Banter is always good as it gives us an outlet for fun and keeps us relaxed Ingame. We don't have to win every battle, and generally Comms aren't the only reason we loose (even though that's rare). I say all we need to do is learn where it's appropriate or not, for who wants a force who can't talk. I personally want to laugh with all the boys when a rebel kills his own gang member, or when they grenade themselves and make our job easy. I want to be forgiving to the new guys, and train them to be the best they can be. I want us to all have a kind of friendship that brothers in arms should have, because a team is only as good as its weakest player. As far as banter against cops, yes we do accept it as a joke, if at any time you feel as though someone has gone too far with something please let the highest rank in the channel know, we enjoy having fun and sometimes everyone goes a little too far, but if it's annoying you don't let it go further and let someone know. If this person does nothing let a Helpdesk, admin or moderator know and it'll be sorted out that way. As I said, we are brothers, we are going to say a few things but downright bullying is not okay, and if you have had enough, then it's going to stop there. Would like to thank @Marc_R for being one kickass comish, served under him since around the 15th of December and every day has been great. It has been awesome seeing the police force evolve, from the days as a pub where I had to teach the other pubs until today, where we have induction training and friendly people nearly always available to help. Also great to see everyone coming together to fight crime. Lets use our MXs well and our tazers better, we are the APD and we are here to protect and serve (ourselves) baby #TheFire - To the best Altis Life Police Force -

1 pointI think we need in game changes, perhaps missions, more content or different content. Different layouts perhaps. Keep it exciting to keep older players but also the new.

1 pointYo Snow Leopard. I personally like this idea, a Straya gaming clan within the wasteland community. It would be awesome to team up with like minded individuals that like a sense of realism, teamwork and strategy while having fun within the community and on my favourite server. Should you think I am a worthy candidate for such a 'clan' and should this spark enough interest, well... too bad I only go opfor good luck converting me you'll have to snipe me relentlessly for me to even consider. But also keep in mind that some players wont always want to team up and go in all serious... I myself like to just play around with different classes sometimes and mess around... (with AP rockets... Helios... oh and jets getting 101 advice from @Blue Eagle [+1 CREW]. ) I donno, when you produce additional notes regarding this idea and peeps that are keen, spam me with bullets. Also Leopard, I've posted the story behind unit_3397 on my about me page... the page will be updated at a later date, but you'll get the general idea. I love strategy, and fantasy... // See ya on the end of me 'WHAT EVER' // maybe... *retreats back into the darkness* Regards. Unit_3397.

1 pointLooks Awesome! How close in the future will we see this change in wasteland? Will there be new features to look foward to?

1 pointIn regard to STV's original post, I dont think removing gunstore vacancy signs would be good for gameplay. They keep the game urgent and goal oriented, creating both a sense of ownership while you occupy them and the sense of threat knowing enemies are holding a weapons cache. Gunstores are notorious locations, being in them is dangerous. They are hardpoints that create good King of the hill type gameplay. What they are not is a candyland of gear that everyone can frolic through holding hands. If we all expected to be able to buy any gear we want and walk out unscathed why bother with them at all, why not spawn geared. If it wasn't a mortar or a jet it would be an indie camping with a rifle, they are dangerous all the time. Also , the stores aren't the only source of gear, you can just shoot a sniper in the back, there are heaps of predictable sniper locations. Its like farming mobs. And picking up on some other points made in the thread: The real problem is teambalance. Veteran team based players choose Opfor and veteran solo/small group players play indie, but indie doesn't get the inertia of opfor without shared beacons. A look at the score board any time of day will confirm that. Ideally opfor/blufor would be numbers and skill balanced, with indie as wildcard factors. Then you would see Blufor leveraging their shared beacons, gunstores changing hands and areas becoming no-fly zones which would slowly spread as players arm up with AA and move out from them, eventually denying safe access to the runway. Regarding mortars, they have a 4km range limit, you can find it every time within 5 minutes from the air. If its in a gunstore then hit it from the air or buy a mortar from a gunstore thats out of its range and hit it back. Most of the time unless they make a fortification for the ammo truck you can see the top of it and still hit it with a titan. I think the gameplay mechanics as they stand are fine. Taking airfield gunstore and holding the runway to support your CAS is legitimate high level team gameplay. Sending out a kill squad to destroy a mortar you've identified, guiding them in for an ambush, also awesome mission oriented gameplay. Just sitting on the hill east of the south end of the runway with AT waiting for the jet to land will get you accolades. Still, I'll concede that it can be tough, but its legitimate hardship that experience, tactics, and intel can overcome. If you use all the tools at your disposal you can always come up with a solution.

1 pointI strongly disagree with the suggested removal of the entered zone. And no, its not because I fly jets and helicopters but because I like to snipe and travel between gun stores and pick off enemy players. And while the jets are ridiculously annoying, I just tend to move on to somewhere different because just camping at a base is as boring as watching paint dry. Although I do understand that some people enjoy building their base up etc. And that's perfectly fine. As for making a level playing field.. Decrease the amount of flares the aircraft can deploy. Make the rocket launchers more obtainable. Spawns in vehicles or cheaper at the store. Increase the cost of the ammo for the planes. (If it even costs money, I actually don't even know) Somehow limit the amount of planes available to use. Something really needs to be done though.. I've seen people numerous times leave the server because they can't actually spawn in their area without being bombed out.

1 pointBastet I know exactly what happened and as I said if you care to re read my post, was that EVEN YOUR OWN TEAM MATES had enough of what you lot were doing and wanted you to stop. Take the hint in other words. Bottom line guys if these people want to spend all day bullying the other players like they were/are bullied at school then that's fine let them go and hats off to them being able to fly a jet that well and I mean that. I've tried several times to fly and the mountain wins everytime. It annoys me when it happens but if there are jets in the area, stay out of the area go find another gun store and find a vehicle to get a weapon and time you entries to the gun stores when they are busy killing a different gun stir. If you stay out of the zones they have a hard time trying to find people to kill. battseyy you quote the offences that people should be banned for but remember the "being a dick" rule exists too....
-
1 pointThe reason he swapped was because he had enough of what you lot were doing so if it were me id be thinking hmmmm maybe ill stop because my own team isnt liking me right now. There is also a rule that some people get banned for called "for being a dick" which some people dont seem to understand either
