With this, I completely agree that if you should tell or give them advice should be in a different channel to reduce humiliation. However try turn this around, from their statement of “handle GD better” you can turn it around and ask the question of: is there any advice on how do I handle GD better? An open ended question that would most likely lead to a variety of advice that may benefit you. Also, take advantage of dispatches, reply to them, “I need impounding at garage.” Could I please get SYD 03 to respond to that dispatch at garage? Or “Guys with guns at pc1” Can SYD 02 go investigate, and reply to the dispatch with ‘We have a unit responding, please stay put’. I do believe this is also in the CO training, but keep it up. There wouldn’t be a negative thing about taking co that will stall your promotion. Regardless of how you are at it, it looks better to command: telling them, you are willing to improve, and have the dedication in doing so (it’s like not writing anything on an exam, might as well guess something :>)
