With men's mental health week upon us, I thought I would reach out and let everyone in the community know that it's not cool to bottle things up. We all have problems and sometimes the best way to deal with them is to talk to someone. Sadly men have the highest rates of suicide, and most of the time a simple chat could have prevented it. So to everyone in StrayaGaming community if you feel sad, alone or just not yourself, talk to someone about it, anyone. I'm always up for a chat ? Nugs finds this all very interesting, and will back this idea. Nugs is also from the days of OpF and Resistance so A3 is still new. SG is casual a f, but some semblance of order is required at times.

Guys I've attached for your knowledge a no bullshit comms card. It has been UNLCASSIFIED and all actual codes and words have been changed to 'other' random code words and frequencies. At the top we have BADMAN. BADMAN is the codeword for SCRUBWOMAN. This is a word which changes daily and is used for marking in plain text on a radio positions on a map by numbers. This is why every letter is different and has a number below it. Example as follows: 1A this is 2A, grid by BADMAN over 2A this is 2A, send it, 2A, Golf Romeo (Grid Reference) Bravo, Whiskey, Mike, Alpha, Charlie, Sierra, over 1A, Golf Romeo (Grid Reference) Bravo, Whiskey, Mike, Alpha, Charlie, Sierra, over 2A, Correct, out. Now that number was just a random number I picked out but you can see on the comms card below that: BWMACS is grid reference: 457810 Below we have resupply chattermarks (codewords) This conversation would word as follows: 1A this is 2A, message over. 2A this is 1A, send it. 2A, requesting WHIP and BIGSTORM at grid by BADMAN, prepare to copy over. 1A, send it. 2A, Golf Romeo: Bravo, Whiskey, Mike, Alpha, Charlie, Sierra, over 1A, I read back WHIP, BIGSTORM at Bravo, Whiskey, Mike, Alpha, Charlie, Sierra, over 2A, Correct, out. Now here they have added a resupply of CES (weapons and ammo I think but can't remember exactly) and POL Petroleum Oil and Lubricants) to the grid they gave before. At the bottom of the left side of the comms card should be self explanatory. Armour: codeword IRONTIDE, primary frequency codeword: CREED...actual frequency: 7.225 0A this is Tango12, message over. Tango12 this is 0A, send it. Tango12, requesting change from CREED to and WALKER due to VIGNETTE DOLMAN, over 0A, acknowledged all, WHISKY WHISKY radiocheck, over (whiskey whiskey = all callsigns) (from here all callsigns radiocheck back with 0A in numerical order with ten second gaps between radiochecks - I'm not writing this down, but lets just say that this has just occured) 0A all stations change from CREED to WALKER in 1 mike over, (all other stations acknowledge) (a final radio check is completed and any technical issues ironed out) Here you can see that VIGNETTE means keymat and DOLMAN means compromised so 0A (command station) got all other stations (whiskey whiskey) to change from freq: CREED to freq: WALKER. This was prompted by Tango12 (Tango=tank callsign) sending in the report that they were compromised. On the top right of the card we have daily brevity words that would change on the times shown in Zulu time, GMT. Everything runs in Zulu, not Lima as you may think. 0A this is Warhorse. 0A, send over. Warhorse, is ARCTIC at this time and BLAZER for ICE eta 10 mikes over. 0A, acknowledged; Warhorse ARCTIC BLAZER requires ICE eta home plate 10 mikes. Warhorse, correct, out. Here, callsign warhorse (an Australian Blackhawk) is off station (ARCTIC) and RTB (returning to base - also called home plate) (BLAZER) for a refuel (POL) (ICE). 0A acknowledged their comms, read back the message, Warhorse said 'correct' and gave an 'out'. Now why did Warhorse give the 'out' to 0A even though 0A was HQ? Because Warhorse INITIATED the communication. Any station (jet, helo, armour, infantry) that initiates comms also closes down comms. Below this we have codewords for FOBs. This does not need an explanation. Notice there are many codes which have the same meaning? Why do you think this is? At the bottom of the right hand side are common frequencies used within the battlespace that all units need to now and their corresponding codewords.

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and new to ArmA3. The last time I played anything like it was Operation Flashpoint a billion years ago. I know I'm the new guy here so please don't be upset, I just have some fun addon ideas: On I&A Tanoa myself and a few other soldiers have formed a semi-official QRF (Quick Reactionary Force) team. Here we mostly engage in side missions to get rewards for the rest of the team. We also provide emergency assistance QRF to battlegroup main, take on the caches missions, rescue PWs (kinda FEXT stuff I guess - Field EXpoitation Team) and recon out targets on foot and by air. I was wondering what the options are for the DV crew to extend the scenarios for side ops as we're getting such a kick out of them! Are we allowed to make an official sub category of StrayaGaming I&A Tanoa? Right the QRF team are dialing their shit in, we even have training planned where we discuss, button hooking, rolling-T, slicing the pie, diamond, double diamond etc. I am easily the worst player in the team lol! But the team is patient. The second idea is for a greater use to the commander role. Right now to CO does nothing in the battle space and is an empty slot. But now in Tanoe the Island has three teams, Aviation support (HAWKEYE), battle group main (for want of a better term) and QRF. Because of these three elements we are finding comms busy. We have the BG Main comm channel, the QRF channel and the teamspeak channel. Can someone take the lead and lease officially between BG Main and QRF? BG Main and QRF can both get comms with aviation assets via teamspeak, but not each other. I'm guessing we could (or maybe we already do??) allow the CO (who must be in COMD of BG Main), QRF CMD and ALL Avn units access to the side channel, then the new QRF team can liaise with BG Main. Is everyone with me? Does this make sense? PS Grovesey, In 6AVN 161SQN they used to fly Kiowas, their CS was 'Redback'. Would you like to roll with that CS if the Side Channel was approved to team leaders?

Hi Guys! I noticed that right now in I&A, the bases and FOBs are a little bare. I would like to offer my services and personal time if needed to add objects to make them seem 'lived in'. Only the places used most, not the whole map! At the main base on Tanoa flightline is bone dry empty, the fobs have the bare essentials in them. None of these objects would physically add any benefit but with regards to world building it is my humble opinion that players would get a lot more from it 'feel' wise. They would experience what it is like to be in a FOB or Base. If you see the hanger below from Timor Leste you can see what I mean. I have personal experience in this area and think the players might get one hell of a kick from a few world building changes. Lastly any suggestions requests are purely made out of excitement and love for the game and are no way intended to tread on anyone's toes.

@Fitz , probably something for you or Quicksilver. Last night we noticed that if you take a whitelist slot, then a standard player DCs, you'll drop out of that slot and into a standard slot. This means that a new player joining who is Whitelisted can't join, even though a whitelisted player just took that slot. The example was me disconnecting so someone can take the 5th slot, then I jump back in to take the whitelist slot. I then noticed 10 minutes later that someone asked me to do it again. (I'm assuming it works by only allowing the whitelist players to get in the last position, so if you do, and someone leaves you're no longer in that position) It might be a solution to separate those slots out again, but the downside is that we lose some of the streamlined nature that comes with the new system. @Joshua_

since the role assignment update i've noticed a very significant increase in random players taking team speak roles (transport pilot, CAS, UAV) probably as the roles arent as far down to scroll to and they arent given a warning to join teamspeak until the role is selected. perhaps add text next to the role that reads "JOIN TEAMSPEAK TS.STRAYA.LIFE". its just starting to get annoying with the amount of players landing directly infront of spawn, crashing etc.

The changes to the FOB needed are quite simple. Some servers I play on have some of these things in them & it seems to work quite well; No need to have tanks spawn here. It's a FOB in a small scale engagement. Instead, have the BOBCAT spawn here to be able to support forward moving heavy vehicles. Once the Medical crate/HEMTT has set up the spawn tickets, they count up on a timer till the hit a designated max points. Once the players spawn there the counter starts back up. No set AA should be here as it would mean that the enemy wont be able to fly most of the time. An intercepting jet is enough. The same can be said of forward arty. It's just not needed & usually OP as all hell. What is often forgotten is that this game is at it's finest when focussed on small scale infantry & light combined arms. On the other public server I play on the fob has the following vehicles: 1x Bobcat 1x Medical HEMTT (Doubles as a troop transport) 1x Vehicle ammo HEMTT 3x Quad bike 4x Hunter/Prowler/Quillin on random respawn, though favoring the Hunter. The main reason we dont have AI running around the FOB is a simple matter of server frames. It struggles enough with the AI out in the field. Now, all that being said, one major difference on that server is that they have FATIGUE on. This means that there are a lot of people who return to the FOB for rearm following a mission, (along with the added call for choppper suport airlifting in supplies). Players can't set up for 4 AO's of ammo in a Bergen & sprint for a month with no consequence. Often choppers will airlift/evac troops to the FOB, the squads would regroup after an AO & head out in vehicles. This can also be a great use of the Vehicle Blackfish, as it can fly several vehicles up to the FOB In preparation for the end of the AO.

SITUATION: 7 bombs have gone off around the world hitting major cities. These cities are as follow London, Washington, Sydney, Moscow, Tokyo, Christchurch and LA. The United States Of America have tracked the cell responsible for the bombings to Lythium, Afghanistan. They have launched a full scale invasion into Lythium to remove the terrorist organization responsible for the deaths of thousands... After the US advanced forces secured the nearby towns around the Base of Operations, dozen more aircraft have been able to come in, though resources are still to come. Our next task will be to neutralize the HVT we located last mission and clear AA sites that have popped up. MISSION: Eliminate HVT and clear AA sites near the Base of Operations. Expected heavy resistance, the enemy have deployed BTRs and light CAS as QRFs so be quick. MODS: REQUIRED: Lythium Jbad Task Force Radio CBA_A3 RHS: USAF RHS: AFRF RECOMMENDED: JSRS Blastcore (Standalone) WHEN AND WHERE: The mission will take place this Friday, the 14th of June at 19:00 AEST (21:00 NZST). We encourage players to join TeamSpeak and the Zeus Events server 15-20 minutes before the mission starts to prepare kits and iron out any issues with Task Force Radio. If you have any questions, please direct them to @Dogofwar, @Joshua_ or @Noskire

So, I just learned that in order to have a mortar, you need two things; a folded bipod and a folded mortar tube. Both are in backpack form; however, you can just carry one. Unless you get a vehicle and load those two in. As far as I know, there is no vehicle that have those two in its inventory. It is a bit of a hassle to go back and fort to a virtual arsenal just to load those things in. I'm suggesting a dedicated vehicle (prowler/qilin/hunter) in the vehicle spawn area that have at least 2 mortar bipods and 2 mortar tubes in it.
