2 pointsG'Day, I'am 52 started out playing Operation Flashpoint about 2005 then ArmA, ArmA 2 and then ArmA 3. I loved Vietcong too. I was one of the head admins at gamingsa.com managing game severs and voice servers for Adam Internet and we hosted the first ever ArmA servers in Australia. Here's me at BI: https://ipboarddev.bistudio.com/profile/740844-aussie-dave/ With Adams being taken over by iinet, i lost interest in online thing and only have started again after a few years break. For a good read on tactics etc: http://ttp2.dslyecxi.com/

1 pointHey there, Willing to get back into a community again after 4/5 years of floating around, Used to be in the now disbanded GBH, 88th Airborne Division, 4th MSOB. (Over the period of 4/5 years) Big ArmA 2 Fan / Ace Combat, been playing since Chernarus Life for anyone who knows what that is knows that is it was a pain, Used to be a server Admin on the chernarus life and domination server as well. Sadly I played before Steam was a requirement to have ArmA (RIP Gamespy) so I will never know how many actual hours ive played the series for, but it would be well over +6000, Also do a bit of Youtubing on the side if I happen to be recording https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNtpLFkjckkary-qwre3HgQ/videos Anyway I'm just a guy that remembers too much from his past playing ArmA 2. Fun times. And More fun times ahead. So yeah help me make some more good memory's in ArmA 3 -xBlazededge

1 pointBeen hearing a lot of chat about this in the teamspeak over the past 3 months and i really dont see why not. UAV pilots are using the runways and airspace in conjunction with piloted aircraft which is a legitimate reason for them to be in Teamspeak. There have been numerous times where i have seen a crash on the runway between a UAV and a jet which very well could have been avoided if the UAV pilot had been on teamspeak. I feel this would also encourage greater communication between the UAV pilot and other troops especially in conjunction with the jet utilising the UAV's laser designator capabilities. I think this is a worthy topic for discussion and implementation as i dont see any real cons to enforcing this rule. Would love to hear some thoughts on this topic! Cheers, shifty

1 pointFuck yeah I'm getting that. Anyone who plays Arma regularly needs to get it. I'm so excited, I could pee my pants in that warm tropical water.

1 pointweapons and vehicle packs can be client side but would be better serverside. and its called shacktac and i think quicksilver is working on his own one called quacktac
-
1 pointI agree. Last night we had a problem with a UAV pilot hogging runways and freely using CAS. UAV pilots should also be conveying scouting information to everyone, pilots and infantry alike. Markers help, but voice helps even more. Every othe I&A server I've seen does it.

1 pointI suppose I'd just want it to affect the leaderboard. Troop transport is good, and more important, don't get me wrong. Soldiers capture zones, not boxes. However, arsenal and medic crates, as well as armed vehicles, go a long way with speeding things up. Transporting cargo should affect the transporting leaderboard, particularly since many pilots lack the skill. I can draw up a rough point sketch when I get home. I am unaware of the overhead it would have, but a custom support-call under the ~ menu would be an excellent communication tool for infantry, and could tie into cargo transport leaderboards. On this subject, could we get the Taru transport removed from the lifter spawn? The other helos/Huron give plenty of transport capacity as is, even at server capacity, but the Troop cannot lift. Crashing helos for an appropriate respawn is cumbersome.

1 pointI can understand why some people don't find a bit of a drive fun but when you've got a full crew to chat with it can make for a pretty interesting drive! As someone who drives APC's and tanks to AO's regularly 10km away i can say with some certainty that if the drive to the AO is what makes you not want to use a tank you really aren't supposed to be driving it. Personally, i think tank drivers should have slots all the same as the pilot slots, but that's a discussion for another time. I 100% agree with Fitz that if we start lifting tanks to the AO it would make it way too easy.
-
1 pointI agree with you, Fitz. But, as someone who occasionally does vehicle runs myself, it's a really boring pain in the ass when you truck out to an AO, only to have the next one be literally on the other end of the map. And god forbid the AO is 15+KM from base, and after a 20+ minute drive, you get blow up by a dumbwit firing at you on accident. I don't have a fix-all solution, but there definitely needs to be a faster or less monotonous way to transport heavy vehicles to the AO. Whether it be using a boat, teleports to fixed positions on the map (Ex vehicle service), or helo lifting, we need something. At the very least, being able to transport a marshal would be a god send.

1 pointSo with the guidance of the almighty Dasweetdude, He's suggested I post offer my Zeus scenarios here. Here are some of the following 'good' scenarios/ideas for Zeus missions: Scenario A: Rescue - Fishron DownNATO reinforcements have been stranded on a island off the coast, and have been captured by the enemy. The island is protected from air assaults with skilled AA infantry, the best solution is infiltration by boat or amphibious craft. COMMAND has already setup a FOB with vehicles close to the area, but you will need your own transport to get there. Gather a platoon/section and rescue our friends.Mission parameters - Timed?[Mission FAIL: Time expired] - Possible Scenario B?[Mission SUCCESS] - Reward? Goto scenario C?? Scenario B: Secure object/Intercept - Fallen StarCSAT has captured one of our autonomous drones that was being shipped to the airbase and is holding it at one of their local bases, infiltrate and secure the drone before their security experts are able to decode the encryption.Mission parameters - Timed?[Mission FAIL: Time expired] - CSAT has managed to decode the encryption and are now moving to the radio station to transmit the data, intercept and capture the Officer in charge.[Mission FAIL: Time expired] - Chance of 'hacked' Grey-hawks hitting friendly targets (similar to Priority: Artillery)[Mission SUCCESS] - Reward? Unique reward? Scenario C: Secure object - Perfect StormNATO JISR suggests that CSAT has transported an experimental weather manipulating bomb onto Altis island, they are storing the device in a truck located in their base. Ensure that CSAT does not have the opportunity to use it, but do not destroy it as NATO intelligence wants to study it. SECURE THE TRUCK.Mission parameters - ???[Mission FAIL: Truck destroyed] - Weather change? Time change?[Mission SUCCESS] - Follow up: Escort the truck back to base (Truck can only go on main roads? Zeus drives?). Possible ambush points. Land mines? Break a wheel off the truck?? Scenario D: Capture and Hold - Into the maw of the TigerRecently the AAF and CSAT have hacked into our secure network and we have yet to locate the breach. NATO JISR have located where our sensitive information might be stored. Capture the stronghold and Escort our resident top hacker 'blackSh33p' to find out how they got into our systems. We don't expect the AAF and CSAT to take it lightly and they will attempt to retake the stronghold. Your objective will be to defend the stronghold from enemy attack until 'blackSh33p' can finish up and EXFIL safely. Scenario E: Defend (Repair) - Stuck in the mudCOMMAND has received an urgent request for support at one of our FOBs, they need a repair specialist to fix up one of their tanks (Disabled and Out of Ammo) but they are under heavy fire from infantry (and possible enemy vehicles for balance reasons). Escort the engineer (Zeus) to the objective and defend the objective until he finishes up the repairs and resupply (Huron Ammo?)! So basically here are some ideas I've come up with, feel free to critique and write up notes. I have no technical knowledge of the behind the scenes stuff so feel free to shoot them down as well. I hope these ideas are somewhat intelligent and interesting, I look forward to your feedback!

1 pointBeing able to lift tanks into the ao would make it too easy for whoever is in the tank and the ao would be complete before anyone else got a chance to do anything. It's also completely unrealistic for a helicopter to be lifting a 60 tonne tank or a 30 tonne truck.

1 pointThe first public prototype of the leaderboard is now available for people to use. At the pilot spawn area, there is an action on the ammo box to enable/disable it. It is still in development, and is a low-priority task meaning it will be in development for some time still. The intention of publishing this early WIP is to allow a chance for feedback, and to locate and identify bugs/issues, and I believe its a bit of fun for some pilots too How it works currently (7/01/2016): passenger gets in at base, gets out near mission (side or main) = 1 point passenger gets in at base, gets out far away from anything = 0 point passenger gets in at base, gets out at base = 0 point passenger gets in at current mission, gets out at base = 1 point passenger gets in at current mission, gets out far away from anything = 0 point passenger gets in at current mission, gets out at current mission = 0 point passenger gets in far away from anything, gets out at mission = 0.5 point passenger gets in far away from anything, gets out at base = 0.5 point passenger gets in far away from anything, gets out far away from anything = 0 point Notes: * at present, evacs from old missions are classified as picking people up in the middle of nowhere. this should be fixed in coming versions. * using advanced flight model multiplies earned points by 1.5x. for instance, picking 2 people up at base and dropping them to mission would ordinarily = 2 points. If you have had advanced flight model enabled for the past ~20 mins, it is 3 points (1.5 x 2). This multiplier (1.5x) is subject to change. It may be in the future that AFM is a 1.25x multiplier, and First Person flying is another 1.25x multiplier. If you disable AFM at any time (such as around landing and takeoff), you will not be able to earn the AFM multiplier for the following 20 minutes. The same mechanism will be used for the First Person check. * There is currently no penalty for crashes/passengers dying, this will go in in future versions. Regards, Quiksilver
