Good evening everyone, something I've been thinking about for awhile is combat in Strayagaming, more specifically, how we fight and interact with other combatants. I have been playing Arma for quite awhile now and have seen all types of combat techniques and even have developed my own, however, something that should be internationally agreed on is conditions of fighting that will allow for everyone to have a good time and most importantly, leave with a good relationship or even respect from the opposing side. In order for everyone to have a good time, during and after combat no matter if you win or lose, I have developed a list of afew things that should not be done done in combat; - Do not use restrained people as meatshields: self explanitory, its dog and the person restrained will not be enjoying himself at all - Do not use a car as a weapon: running over people or hitting people's cars that they are hiding behind in order to knock them over is a dog move - Do not 'execute' people knocked out on the ground: carrying on with using a car as a weapon, this move is irritating is proves that you are incapable of taking them on when they have a chance - Do not target people who are not a challenge: If you are rolling around in full rebel with an AK12 and you decide to rob/kidnap someone with nonething or only a handgun is stupid. These are all just basic rules which obviously most people won't role with but at the end of the day everyone jumps on to have fun and by doing the actions stated above can ruin gameplay and just irritate people for not reason. I've been role playing now for about 15 years on and off, longer than some players here have been alive. And in that time, I've learnt a thing or two. From The man, the myth, the Griff , here's a step by step guide that'll take your role playing into next level. 1. You don't need combat for good roleplay. Imagine your best movies. Pulp Fiction. Reservoir Dogs. Goodfellas. Heat. All these movies have one thing in common. Little combat, great dialogue. The combat accentuates the dialogue and it means when combat DOES finally occur, it's sudden , shocking and catches everyone off guard. The good guys / victims are lulled into a false sense of security with conversation. More to come....

Okay let me just start of with this, I absolutely love this community it has a special place in my heart. But the amount of jokes about mental health is sickening. Mental Health Issues is a massive problem that means a lot to me, I've had several members of my family kill themselves because of mental health issues including my Mum. But when i join teamspeak the amount of jokes going around about suicide and depression is just ridiculous. And I have to admit I have coped a fair bit of shit about my own mental health issues. All I am here to do is to ask just to cut the shit out, its not cool or funny. And to anyone with mental health issues I'm always here to talk and the majority of Staff is happy to talk about it, Just remember your not alone. There isn't any way to moderate what you are complaining about, and there is no reason for me to do so. People tend to make light of these bad situations, it is a way of coping with their own personal situations. SG is definitely a coping mechanism for a lot of people, they will react and speak based on their personal life. If you are offended tell them, if you don't think you can be around them because of how they speak or their attitude then don't talk to them. There are plenty of tools available for you to block and ignore communication with other members you don't agree with, or you find offensive. You also need to remember that random people on the internet don't have their masters in psychology, they might not know how to respond or react to those sorts of conversations. They might react in a really offensive way because that is the social norm for them. we have really large variety of people here, don't expect them to all have lived their life in the same way as you.

I do joke and laugh quite a lot so when i joined for a quick chat i didn't think it was that big of a situation, the blacklisting is a wake up call to take more parts of the server serious and to be given another chance would mean I would do less talking and more listening

Quick suggestion that some other servers have. Make it illegal to carry more than 2-3 magazines for your weapon at one time. This way you have enough for a defensive use, but it helps to curb offensive use of guns.

I get your point Red - it is impossible to moderate. Yet I think Woolie's post was intended to remind us that there are many who play that have some issues with mental illness. As with any community, we should be mindful of that. People in a vulnerable state can make rash decisions - sometimes fatal. A bit of banter is fine - but remember you're talking to another human being. We lost a regular player of I&A to suicide last week. And he was a damn fine player.
