Operation Velvet Thunder

THE OBJECTIVE:

For years a battle has been fought by the 3 pillars of StrayaGaming; Invade & Annex, Altis life and Wasteland. As claims were made and egos inflated a battle was on the horizon. Players from each server insist that their players are the most skilled in the entire community, and if given the chance, they would decimate the competition. It's time for players to finally put their money where their mouth is. Enter OPERATION VELVET THUNDER!

12 players from each StrayaGaming server (Invade & Annex, Altis Life & Wasteland) will go head-to-head in a team deathmatch with the goal of either eliminating all opposing players, or capturing the formidable Altis Ghost Hotel.

Fight to win, or forever hold your peace. In other words, winning team takes bragging rights and the losing teams have the right to remain silent.

 

SQUAD COMPOSITION:

Each squad has been provided with a total of 30 respawn tickets, enough for 12 initial spawns, 12 respawns and a bonus 6 respawns. Squad commanders from each server have been appointed from the staff team and are as follows:

Invade & Annex Commanders: @webbie @Noskire

Wasteland Commanders: @Nunny @Neanp 

Altis Life Commanders: @bodyboarder2528 @Havoxa

 

Players interested in participating should either reply to this thread, or contact their server's designated commanders ASAP. 

 

FURTHER INFORMATION:

There are several prizes available for this mission:

Most Player Kills:  $20 Steam Voucher

Most Strategic Player: $20 Steam Voucher (To be chosen by spectating Zeus)

Winning Team: Event Winner TeamSpeak Badge  

 

WHEN AND WHERE:

The Operation will be held on a StrayaGaming Pop-Up server on Sunday the 17th of February at 7PM (AEDT). Those wishing to participate should be ready in TeamSpeak by 6:30PM (AEDT). 

 

Please ensure that you have communicated with your server's commanders your interest in participating in a timely manner. The time and date may need to change due to staff and player availability. Your server commanders will inform you of any changes in the event's time.

Great questions. Vehicles available from your starting bases are limited to core unarmed vehicles including Hunters, Light Prowlers, HEMTTT Covered Transport, Hummingbirds and a Huron. Armed/armoured vehicles may become attainable via the Zeus controlled side missions that we will be running concurrently.

Thermals are not available. 

3rd person will be enabled for this mission, so as to create a fair fight between players who are used to playing in 1st person and those who have never played in this style of game play. 

I will post a detailed list of available items, starting base locations and rules closer to the time of the mission. If you have any specific questions in the meantime please send me PM.

I'll have you know that @Nunny and his crew have already recruited over half the players they need from some of Wasteland's most skilled veteran players

#teamI&A Sign me up. My only question is will it be fair in that we all have to use the same weapons or equipment? Because if we are on different teams or factions, whoever is CSAT will have an immediate advantage due to better armour.

Hey! Each team will have access to the same limited arsenal of weapons and gear. It will be up to you as to what gear you use and which role you will fulfil in your team. Your server commanders may have more to say on the matter when they plan your strategy

I forgot to ask. Is the crosshairs will be deactivated because if you guys will insist on the 3rd person thingy being on the event, that would be a totally unfair for people that uses 1st person?
