12 pointsHey Everyone, Today I am advising everyone of several changes/additions to the community, across various services which are being rolled out following this post. Changes to our main discord New Categories Upon joining the server users will now get the ARMA3 tag, this allows them to see into all of our ARMA3 categories. (They will be hidden if they don't have a role now.) Users can then remove this role and add themselves to each servers role (e.g '?role Altis Life' to see the AL channels). This is the give users some control over what categories they want to be a part of and which ones they don't. Primary Servers will be setup as an Opt Out system, with additional secondary games/areas of interest setup to be Opt-In. We will keep an updated list of the possible games/roles that have discussion channels in the discord. Currently it is relatively minimal and only includes existing games that we have on the discord, but we are always willing to expand it. If you have any suggestions, let us know. Community Contributors Management and Lead staff have decided on the first batch of community contributors and will be handing the ranks out in the next few days. If you need a refresher on the Community Contributors, see the community update posted by @M9' here: https://strayagaming.com/topic/20766-november-2018-community-updates/ Congratulations to our list of community contributors, decided on based on past/current contributions before this point If you are on this list please contact a member of the management team to receive your tags: Persona (I&A Guides) Kev (Community Podcasts) Chadd (Community Podcasts) Bouda (Made significant contributions to improving the server and worked with staff extensively to represent civillian interests) Nevetos (provided a significant amount of documents and maintains support documents) Ryan King (Made the Rubio staff tool for us) Other Discord Servers We have quite a few Discord servers that various factions and groups on Altis Life use, they are all public and we encourage Altis Life players that are interested to join them. Here is a complete list along with invites to each. Primary Discord: discord.straya.life AL Police Discord: discord.straya.life/apd Gang Discord: discord.straya.life/gangs Medic Discord: discord.straya.life/ems Judicial System Discord: discord.straya.life/judicial Altis Life Veteran Today marks the addition of our new Altis Life Veteran tag. This will work similar to the other servers within StrayaGaming with the requirements for the Altis Life Veteran being listed below. If you believe you meet these requirements please contact the AL Manager and provide your playerID, Teamspeak ID and link your forum account. Your eligibility will then be reviewed and you will receive notification of the decision. Requirements: Have never been Community Banned or Staff Banned for any period of time. Does not have a combined time banned longer than 1 month. Has more than 1000 hours played on the server. (As per BattleMetrics: https://www.battlemetrics.com/servers/arma3/550483/leaderboard?filter[period]=AT ) The Altis Life Manager or Senior Management + can void any/all of these requirements in exceptional cases at their discretion. Changes to Some Staff ranks and Responsibilities Discipline, Punishment & Appeals Policy Senior Moderators and Administrators can authorise bans for up to 3 Months, they must acquire approval from the Management team for any ban above 90 days (3 Months). Additionally, Senior Moderators and Administrators can place indefinite bans that are to be reviewed within 1 week of placement by the Management Team. Senior Moderator Senior Moderators are the senior point of contact for ban appeals, and other issues relating to their server. Senior Moderators are responsible for designing and managing server rule-sets and procedures with the guidance of the Server Manager. Senior Moderators are also expected to assist Trial Moderators and help them out in helpdesk. Lastly, Senior Moderators are responsible for dealing with appeals relating to bans placed by other non-management server staff members. Server Administrator Server Administrators are the senior team members for their server and work closely with the manager to discuss and agree on changes to the server. Additionally they work closely with Senior Moderators to ensure that other staff perform to the best of their abilities. Server Administrators are also responsible for the organization and hosting of server events and faction events.

2 pointsSergeant Expression of Interest Note: By placing this expression of interest you are not in-titled to Sergeant and can be denied as well as issued a non-apply period of no less than 1 week. Do not bother anyone about your application, if you do it will be hidden. Name: Maverick Callsign: [K23W] Training Completed By: Robert Hill List all Pub Slot Inductions you have done: Rippa, Samuel, VirtualSeahorse, Hobo, Spycee, Haider Why do you deserve a promotion? (50 Words min) When i was a pub slot my only goal was to reach sergeant, then i got into Academy and Detective, If i can become sergeant I believe it can enable many benefits for me, for example I am one of the late night cops because i am currently in a different time zone, where many Australians are either at school, or work, or asleep. And at that time there are normally civilians doing illegal stuff and there are no sergeants to place charges. I believe if i get sergeant I will be able to add charges to criminals and make sure they are dealt with probably for all there charges. I also believe that it will also allow me to help pub slots and higher ranking officers as it can expand my knowledge. In Academy i have learned even more how to help people, and in Detective I have learned how to work in a team better as we do ops. I have not done many inductions before, but i am starting to increase my efficiency as well as doing many training's and interviews as Academy. I have also taken CO whenever it was required or when i was free, or the slot was free, As sergeant i would love to help new Senior Constables learn how he/she can become a better and more efficient CO, and I would also like to learn how to Operate and lead a bank or any operation. Who would recommend you for a promotion? LM, Omuia, Delta, Dandoo, Keeno, Sebastien, Phatzball, Loxton, Michael Phelphs, Nick, Johnny V, Luke, Iamjack, Chris Shaw. And I guess anyone else that likes this post Edited July 24, 2018 by Mitch

2 pointsOperation Resolute Justice Briefing: One of our GhostHawks moving from a NATO airbase has been engaged by a concealed anti-air battery. The craft was carrying Major General Jason Atwood, NATO Chief-Of-Staff for NATO Mediterranean Command. The aircraft was forced down in the vicinity of the town of Oreokastro. We have lost all communications with the crew, and the other two helicopters were not able to mount a successful rescue at the time. NATO, with the assistance of Task Force Straya, will be deployed to the area in order to secure the extraction of the Major-General stranded on the ground. Mission: Task Force Straya is to secure the crash site on Sun 27 Jan 2019 and execute the safe extraction of Major-General Atwood. The mission will be executed as follows: Intent: Three squads will be deployed, with assorted assets, under the command of @Guardian, callsign Hades. Callsign Phantom will establish an observation post over the town of Oreokastro and provide the Operation Commander with detailed reconnaissance of CSAT forces in the area. They may be required to engage HVTs as required. Callsign Demon will establish a cordon on the two roads leading into the town, as these are the assessed enemy approach routes with light armour and infantry. They will prevent any CSAT forces from interfering with Callsign Angel. Callsign Angel will move into the AO, secure the crash site and survivors and establish an LZ with which to extract the survivor(s). Admin/Logistics: Dress/Equipment: As this is a Nato-sponsored mission, all participants will be required to wear the standard-issue Nato beret. Weapons: Each squad, other than Phantom, should include 1 x Missile Specialist AT and 1 x Machine Gunner. Ammunition: Individual preference Transport: Callsign Demon will travel by vehicle (Hunter MRAP, Marshall) Callsign Angel will travel by helicopter (Ghost Hawk) Callsign Phantom will travel by light helicopter and move in on foot Medical: As per I&A Standard practise. Treat survivors at the site and return all personnel to NATO on mission completion. Command/Signals Overall Commander is: Guardian The Commander's callsign will be Hades. Phantom Commander is: Decibel_SPL Angel Commander is: Swordster Demon Commander is: Zombine45 Once you’re assigned your squad, tune to the appropriate channel on Altis server. All Commanders should be in the Teamspeak I&A Infantry channel. No-one else is to use this channel.

2 pointsI've just got a couple: Let us know thoughts and I can adjust as necessary because my imagination can often get the better of me. Operation Iron Ryder MISSION OBJECTIVE: CSAT are attempting to break the deadlock in the conflict for control of Altis and Stratis. A new platoon of enhanced T-140 Angara K5 tanks have been discreetly inserted through the port in Kavala/Pyrgos/Research Facility (depending on server AO loc). They’re being stored in a warehouse nearby, alongside their support vehicles – waiting until we are weak to strike. Task Force Straya is to secure at least two of these tanks, and one repair Tempest and return it to the NATO Airbase for extraction and research. Other targets of opportunity may be seized. SQUAD SETUP: This operation will comprise of: 2 x Light Infantry Squads 1-2 x NATO Tanks 1-2 x NATO Helicopters for insertion CAS\FSG STATUS: CAS will not be allowed to engage the facility itself during the securing of the tanks, however can provide support for the return journey to the NATO Airbase WEAPONS\UNIFORM: NATO Issue Uniform/Headgear. Weapons are at individual preference. NOTES: The key is to secure the tanks, without destroying them. Speed and Violence of Action is key, otherwise the tanks may be crewed and used against us. Operation Mako MISSION OBJECTIVE: CSAT Naval Forces have moved two destroyers into the bay north of Altis in order to interfere with our air and naval operations. These destroyers are mirrored off the USS Liberty – they need to be recaptured to clear the airspace, and to see how far advanced the CSAT reverse engineering of our ships is. Task Force Straya is to clear these ships of all hostiles and return to the NATO Base. SQUAD SETUP: This operation will comprise of: 2 x Dive Squads transported in SDVs CAS\FSG STATUS: CAS cannot engage the destroy targets WEAPONS\UNIFORM: Diving Equipment SDARs are to be brought, as enemy divers are assessed to be protecting the undersides of the vessels. Additional weapons may be brought if space allows in backpacks. Operation Chariot II MISSION OBJECTIVE: CSAT have used a set of civilian trawlers to land a large cache of supplies at Lijnhaven/Any Port. Due to the significant enemy force, including AA, sited along all land approaches to the port – this assault will have to be amphibious. You are to destroy the following targets: 1. Supply Cache 2. Transport Vehicle Park 3. CSAT Logistics Commander CSAT will likely counterattack swiftly, so as soon as you are done fall back to the boats and withdraw. SQUAD SETUP: This operation will comprise of: 2 x Infantry Squads CAS\FSG STATUS: CAS cannot engage the destroy targets, however it can be used to slow down the counterattacking CSAT forces. WEAPONS\UNIFORM: NATO Issue Uniform/Headgear. Weapons are at individual preference.

1 pointHiya Invaders, With Staff getting ramped up to do weekly scheduled missions for I and A, we would like your Suggestions. Quite a few members have shown an interest in contributing and we greatly appreciate those efforts. Please see below for format. MISSION OBJECTIVE: Description of the Who, What, When, Where and How. Please note locations may vary according to where the main AO is situated at the time. Missions will generally be run on an opposing side to where the FOB is located. MAP/LOCATION PREFERENCE: Altis, Malden or Tanoa. Map Localities. SQUAD SETUP: What the breakdown of squads will be. eg. Transport, Infantry, Ironside. CAS\FSG STATUS: Is CAS allowed to engage the scenario. WEAPONS\UNIFORM: Self Explanatory. NOTES: Random Information pertinent to mission. OPFOR EXPECTATIONS: Information relating to what kind of resistance you would expect. Thx, webbie.

1 pointI can write up a scenario for it in the very least and I'll forward it to one of the admins

1 pointThere is a legitimate argument to be made for armour using speed and violence of action. IE, 3 tanks rolling in hard and fast to quickly close with and overwhelm the enemy. Though with every man, dog, seagull and small shrub in the AO having some kind of launcher, I doubt it would be effective in I&A.

1 pointFirst one's not a bug. It's based off the money in your account and intended to be a money maker for new players. Full explanation here:

0 pointsIt's been an interesting experience, highs and lows, ups and downs. I've seen a lot of sides, met a lot of people and learnt a lot of things. But unfortunately it has to end at some point. Cheers to the people that have supported me, given me a laugh and pissed me off. I can see straya going further than it is and i know there are select members in staff that have that drive, a genuine drive for the communities sake, whether they are heard is another question. Best of luck to all, Fusionable.

0 pointsChange to the interpretation of the use of Gang Tags in combat During this month's Altis Life Senior Staff meeting it was discussed at length as to how best allow players to use gang tags in combat. It has been concluded that gang tags may be used to identify individuals as hostile when in a declaration. This change allows all players, civilians and cops, to use gang tags to clearly determine who they are in declaration with. The use of player names to gain an advantage, i.e. seeing a person that is wanted and stopping them without probable cause / a valid reason, is still against the rules. This change is effective as of the 3pm restart on the 20th of January 2019.
